I rated it with just one star because the platform does not allow for unlimited stock trading. There is a cap on the number of trades, and exceeding it can result in being labeled as a pattern day trader and facing account limitations. As a result, I withdrew all my funds and switched to WeBull, which I find to be significantly superior to Robinhood.
Reviews for Robinhood: Trading & Investing
← Back to Robinhood: Trading & InvestingI'm extremely disappointed with Robinhood's Spending Account. Every time I set up an autopay for a bill, they mysteriously charge me \$91. This has happened more than once, and there's been no clear explanation or resolution. It's unacceptable to lose money just for trying to pay my bills. I trusted Robinhood with my finances, but now I'm pulling my money out.
This was a nice app, but they have unclear help with security. The last time I tried to withdraw funds, I did not receive a text or notification on my phone. I thought maybe it was going to another device, but I couldn't log in to another device because I couldn't get notifications. I couldn't remove other devices from the one active device (greyed out option). No other explanation or instructions. Finally, did the selfie thing which worked, but nothing in the process/help chat pointed me there.
Don't even try to make an account using the app, that's all I'll say. Make your account using a browser. 24 hours of attempts and chat support that eventually just led to me having to go on a desktop anyways. I've already encountered so many bugs in this app and I've only had it for like 24 hours. Yeah, it looks nice. And I'm sure making transactions is probably fine, once you finally get there. I have no idea though, because the app screwed up my account and it's 3-5 days to fix it. 0/5.
Robinhood user of over six years and every day, week, month, year it just gets slower and slower and crashes/freezes more and more. I now have to close and reopen 100 times a day and clear the cache constantly to get it to load anything. You can do one or two things before it freezes. I need to sell everything and move to another brokerage, but it will take weeks with all the freezing.
edited: they changed scrolling back to before! thank you! updatedfrom 1 to 3 star. Still this problem though. Before if you had a bid queued up to sell and then decided to change it they would remove your original bid until new price was added. Not anymore. you have to cancel your price then re- enter new price.Big hassle when fast price movements in options trading and your tracking movements.
Bracketed trades would really be a lifesaver. I don't necessarily want to watch a trade continuously; I'd rather set a stop limit and a take profit limit order on the upside, and check in periodically to make adjustments. This would also help my self-discipline so I don't have to think about it when things start to go downhill! Also, why not have a moving candle on the simple as well as the advanced chart? Easier to see what's going on. Indicators on Legend on laptop tend to obscure candles.
I really think it sucks. They include fake and old news from Tipranks, which will tank your tips. They don't execute orders unless they can pinch your trade. Even on "Gold" They interrupt your trades by both doing "instant transfers" at the same time telling you to deposit funds because your funds haven't cleared. They approve you for "margin" and "basic options" trading. But, they stop you from trading margins or not executing option orders. More on the next page...
my account has disappeared. I tried to open the app and it's asking me to login, which I never had to. And when I reset the password a notification email was sent for me to reset the name I was addressed with it's not my name. All my info suddenly went with my money. Something is definitely going on and I can't reach customer service no one to answer my questions and to tell me where my thousands of dollars went. This is highly unacceptable.
The only issue I have so far, is the Gold subscription.... it's a 5$ monthly charge.. if you don't really know what to do in the app, you will be losing money instead of gaining money.. you will see returns in your investments, only to be taken away by the monthly subscription... if you're a bigginer and don't really have a lot of money to invest yet... don't get the Robin Hood Gold Subscription...
Do not use this app. They intentionally mislead in pricing and then close higher than the agreed to amount per share. They also charged more than the total amount I agreed to spend, then stated they could do that because its in the end user agreement. when I execute a purchase, it should go thru at the cost I agree to. I shouldn't have to learn how to navigate thru 10 windows to see how to limit my purchase to only buying what I agreed to.. Very dishonest company!
when it works, it can be one of the best apps for investing and crypto. but when it fails, be prepared for Robinhood to make unilateral decisions on your account without consulting you first. such as, placing permanent restrictions on you account if they believe there's fraud and making it so that you cannot appeal it. This can happen for even the smallest reason like trying to link your account to pay a bill. Just be warned!
I changed devices and reset my password and now can't access my account, the number I register it with is no longer in service. when I try to scan my ID keeps saying barcode is to blurry. if the only way I can contact customer support is by logging in to my account how does that work if I can't access it. This is ridiculous.
App is GREAT if everything works. Sadly, if you try to do something crazy like update your password, it locks you out of everything and won't let you back in. It's currently sending 2 factor requests to a phone that doesn't exist anymore (and doesn't allow SMS 2 factor???) while robin hood holds my money hostage. Oh, and the only way to contact support is to be able to get into the app so, good luck, I guess. I'm kind of at a loss here, honestly. An expensive lesson to be sure.
I got a letter from you telling me that I need to reactivate my account or it will be transferred to the state of Colorado. after two days of trying the links they provide, uninstalling and redownloading this app multiple times, and only getting:"we can't process the login info", trying to reset my password, (which it refuses to send the link) and finally trying a friend's account on this device(strangly, it worked.) I was planning on getting more stocks, but now, I'm required to tell everyone.
app closes immediately when use price simulator on Android Phone ( Galaxy S24). The apps also wouldn't display open and close , high and low data in candle mode. Robinhood customer service was hard to reach and no idea how to solve the problem 😕. They said someone would get back to me and never did. The app works on my IPhone only and laptop only. Compared to Webull is has very little information and no drawing tools for the chart. After I close my positions, I'll be moving over to Webull
I'm not a fan of the legend chart. The previous chart was at least accurate. The new chart scrubbed my previous indicators, losing my setup forever. The new chart requires you clicking on the daily, weekly, hourly. etc 5 or more times to "correctly" set the indicators otherwise they just go haywire. Its also cool how it can "predict" the future as it reads indicators out to a day or more despite having no information on the future. Very untrustworthy.
They got real sneaky with the gold card account being inaccessible unless you found out the gold fee charge was set to the card itself. I asked support and they told me it "was probably a bug" now I owe over $100 with late fees. Now it's my fault cause I didn't scan my junk mail to even set up my card in the first place I didn't see I had to do
my experience is not a good one. great for beginners because it's easy to navigate. once you learn move on to another app. I noticed that Robin Hood charges a lot of fees that they say they don't charge. And they shut down trading if the stock runs too high. just know there's better out there.
History has been buggy. The only difference from before when it worked as intended is now I have cash back amounts posted which adds a lot more individual lines; perhaps being the cause. It's been buggy for a good few months, twitching up and down, making it difficult to read. Maybe attempt to fix that? Curiously, I had a sub $2k transfer to my checking take almost 5 days and a much larger transfer only took 1 day. I don't understand, is it just whatever you decide is how long it will take?
