Rock and mineral analysis was incorrect to wildly incorrect over 50% of the time. I thought AI was going to be leveraged to support a good app, I was wrong. I should have canceled before trial was over. Buyer beware, watch the calendar for your 3 days and test it as much as possible in that time-frame.
Reviews for Rock & Crystal Identifier - ID
← Back to Rock & Crystal Identifier - IDYou are very limited as to how many items you can identify on this app at one point in the day. I had them identify 15 items and now they're giving me a hard time telling me I only have two identifying features left. then what am I supposed to do sign up for premium? So you're really not free
A I is awesome, very detailed information that's very useful. It's not free. You have to pay for it.But it's worth it.
This is a very accurate rock identifier. Really appreciated all the extra facts about the rock/gem too.
Awesome app, I'm fairly new to the world of Crystal and stone rock collecting world and this app is perfect for us beginners.
This app did not identify a single crystal correctly. The first one i tried 5 times and got 5 different answers, none of them correct. Don't waste your money.
loved it at first, it does work but every second (or 2) it asks me if I w Anna buy "rock identifier pro" which is especially annoying when I've just identified a rock, then it pops up, taking up my entire screen, then when I tried to get rid of it again I cant find what the gemstone is
great app. easy to use and fun as well. has great descriptions of rocks and gives you background info as well. great app overall. would recommend to anyone from beginner to advanced rock collector!!
seems to work fairly well. over all. If nothing else it's a good learning companion to get ya in the ballpark.
All I can say is that this app is almost always spot on!! The app was able to differentiate between Diamond and cubic zirconia 8 out of 9 times! Unreal!
I have only just started using it, so don't have much to go on yet. it is paid subscription based, but if it works well, may be worth it. There is a 3 day trial. First try is correct and I do like all the detail about it provided.
Accurate less than half the time and only picks up very obvious stones. issues were: - inability to identify blue and grey spinel; these were called blue topaz and diamonds respectively. - blue and black bi-colour tourmaline identified as watermelon. - very distinctive Australian parti sapphire identified as tourmaline. Very limited app.
Worst ap I've used. It gives 0.2 seconds to read what it says before an ad for the premium version pops up, and as soon as you decline, it brings you back to the 'home' screen where no history has been preserved.
The camara identify and valuation does not work and I have been paying for this app, about to cancel it because it's pretty darn close to useless and I'm tired of paying for something that does not work. and they give you no options of who to contact for this problem.
You have to go into your Google Play app, click on your profile, click "subscriptions", find this app in your subscription list, and press "cancel subscription" to cancel after the "free trial". Not worth the headache. Good luck y'all!
OMG! This site is horrible! Absolutely not able to get any information on how to cancel the subscription. I currently have a free trial but absolutely do NOT want to be charged $8.99 a week for something that isn't accurate and I would only use once or twice a year. But there's absolutely zero information on the site on how to cancel! I tried asking the AI (another ridiculous joke.) I'll have to get a lawyer to stop the site from charging me if I don't get help. I just want out without cost!
Amazing..but, false advertising! It says it's free which it technically is but you get 3 pics to "try" and then that's it. You can try n buy & get the Premium Package. It's great to try out before you want to buy anything, for free. If money wasn't the issue, I would for sure upgrade though. Try it for yourselves to see if you bought the "Real thing"or was misinformed. Its not necessarily by the seller themselves but some link in the chain was"altered" along the way. Get the trust/clarity u need!
This app lies right out of the gate. It doesn't mention anywhere before installing that or is NOT free. You get a couple of pictures that, right away, it missed the very first stone I tried to get out to identify. But it is NOT free. Any app that lies to me right out of the gate gets no stars and is deleted. And there is literally nowhere that gives you the option of canceling the forced "trial." It also doesn't say you are automatically signed up for their "free trial" just by opening the app.
The app does well most of the time but a known sample of Himalayan rock salt was misidentified twice. once as Carnelian and once as Calcite. on the third try, it finally selected Pink salt. Many of the descriptions that appear have names in differing languages/characters. Some of the IDs are quite good and the selection of reference minerals is quite expansive. Overall, this app is kinda fun, but is nowhere near consistent enough to fully trust
Not remotely accurate. Tested numerous difference gems, knowing for sure what they are, and it was completely wrong. Tried different lighting, different angles. It got nothing correct. It also gives different identifications for the same gem after submitting the same picture of it multiple times. Useless application. Do not rely on it for anything. Best to get your gems and stones formally identified and/or appraised.
