I've tested a bunch of rock identification apps and Rock ID is one of the better ones. The AI-powered scanning is pretty accurate and fast, and the extra info on each stone is genuinely interesting. The interface is user-friendly too. On the downside, the database could be more comprehensive, and the free version has some annoying ads. But if you're looking for a simple way to learn about rocks and minerals, I'd recommend giving this a try.

Description

I’ve been using Rock ID – Stone Identifier for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take a photo of any rock, crystal, or gem and it’ll tell you what it is. Pretty solid if you’re into geology and building a collection of cool rocks and minerals.

Here’s how it works – you just snap a pic and the app’s AI engine identifies the stone for you. There’s also a cool database you can browse to learn about different types of rocks and gems. It’s got some neat info on where they’re found and what they’re used for.

Look, if you’re into rocks, crystals, and gemstones, you’ll probably get a kick out of this. It’s not perfect – the database can be a bit limited and the ads can get annoying – but overall it does a pretty good job of helping you discover and learn about new stones. Worth checking out for any budding rock hounds.

Absolutely useless! Every rock was either flint, quartz, or fossil. I started with rocks and crystals that I already knew to see how accurate it was. It wasn't accurate at...
