I have tried reinstalling. I tried to sign up via Facebook and via email. Neither works. The app just sits and loads indefinitely. The website, you find a listing, click to message the person, and get prompted to login (despite being logged in), then it takes you back to the homescreen! You can't even try to use it! The 5 star reviews are fake.

Absolutely HATE this app! I am currently locked out of my own account while I have an unfinished ad/profile up. They have a chat for customer service, but it takes FOREVER for them to respond. You also can't leave the chat room while waiting for the to respond, or it just deletes the chat. Number has been blocked twice. Whhhhhyyyy? They ap needs to lose up. U haven't even had a chance to see anything past the damn login screen for more than 5 minutes. Could not imagine giving money to this ap

No clue how they have a 4.1 review. You may not have to pay to download the app but you do have to pay to check any messages ever, so you can't actually talk with any renters without getting a subscription. They also send you messages when people message you that you can't see and to be frank I've had the app for about two weeks and just let it sit, haven't set any profile stuff or anything like that and I'm getting bombarded with "messages from renters" which.. I dont believe for a second.

I consider myself pretty technologically savy, and all I have to say is this app was seriously a struggle to use. Setting up your account and even logging in each time should not be so difficult. You have to login using your phone number every time you make changes, then the app will tell you you have too many logins. Thought setup may be easier on desktop, not the case. Eventually it said my account was not valid so I've uninstalled. Not worth the headache.

I discovered Roomster from a Craigslist ad; then I went down a rabbit's hole to spend more money to receive messages. I, immediately, requested to cancel, but was told it wasn't possible because I have been verified - well, if you don't get verified, you can not become a member 🤔. This platform is too much of a hassle. I, definitely, will not recommend it!!!

Not actually free. You can download it, make a profile, and see listings. But then you have to pay to actually receive messages from anyone, meaning the app is useless unless you pay for it. It feels deceptive to go through all those steps and then get hit a massive paywall. The fees are very expensive, I'm not buying a $48 per month subscription without knowing whether it could be useful.

Loooool came here to write a review to keep people away just to find people are all saying the same thing. Definitely just some sort of scam. Found a listing on Craigslist that seemed a little legit so I emailed them and the guy said to see the listing in more detail at a link. I click the link and it brings me to roomster. I have to sign in with my email (no biggie) and then I get a general list of rooms. Tell the guy that I don't see his listing and he responds by telling me I have to finish filling out my account. So I do and then it still doesn't work so I tell him that and then I get no response. Pretty sure he just wanted another app download and account so that they can say "x amount of app downloads and these amount of accounts, we're popular and useful!" When they're not. Stay away. Really just a waste of time.

This thing is a SCAM. There are more fake profiles on here than real ones, and they won't stop charging me random amounts of money! When you call "customer service" it's an automated line that says to sign in to write customer service but i deactivated my account and they won't let me sign in using the email anymore. I'll be disputing all charges!! They will be hearing from me once I get to someone. until this is resolved!!

This is horrible, I have been trying to cancel this subscription for like a whole month now. I'm getting charged every week for something I'm not even using. their website/app doesn't allow you to cancel your subscription there, no phone number to call customer service. When I text them explaining I want to cancel, someone replied back saying that I have to do it through playstore, now I'm on playstore and follow the steps nothing is happening. This is truly a nightmare 🤦‍♀️.

You have the pay for the messaging system, and even then it's full of scams. I allowed my number to be shown to verified members on my profile, and again, was only offered scams. Literally the same 3 scripts used over and over. In 2 hours I had over 10 "people" contact me, and all of them fell silent when I asked to schedule a time to meet up. Don't waste your time here. On the plus side, deleting an account is very easy and very fast.

I posted a detailed, professional listing for a good deal in a very popular area and did not manage to speak with a single real person for the weeklong subscription, all users were bots or there may be some feature preventing them from seeing my actual listing because there wasn't a single genuine inquiry and no response from users I messaged. Waste of time and money. Luckily I was able to cancel without any problems unlike other reviewers.

The app itself is easy to use, the amount you pay is ridiculous for what you get you can't message or read messages unless you pay. I paid for the 1 week subscription on two occasions, first time no problem, second time they charged me 3 more times and no I didn't even get access for the additional charge that I did NOT approve. I did cancel my subscription on time as well. To top it off they deleted my account for requesting the money they stole from me. 1 star experience overall.

App described as free, but you can't really do anything meaningful without paying (cool, you can create a profile, but you can't communicate, so good luck finding someone). At least half of the responses I got were spammy. Asked to verify things on a regular basis, even though I already had. Getting emails for listings somewhere else in the country (why on earth is that helpful to me if I didn't ask for that?) I guess the app itself works mostly fine, but I regret wasting my money.

The fundamentals of the app are good for the most part.. but the things I have been having trouble so far are adding my photos so people can see what I look like. The verification.. it's not fair that I have to waste 10 that I can use for food wasted on something as little as a verification for an account. And also.. the only phone number I do have doesn't work on there.. it says that it's blocked!.. I will give you guys more stars once you fix those and other issues.

Needed to find a roommate within 2 months, so I installed this app. I realized pretty quickly there would be no way to respond to or read any messages from anyone looking without paying $30. I bit, and even the people looking for rooms that messaged me first would never write back. It was odd. Not only that, but it tried to automatically renew my subscription after the 30 days was up, even though I cancelled it. My card was blocked and now I can't access my money until Wednesday. Stay away!

It wont let you read the messages unless you upgrade your subscription. Also, they didnt mention anything about renewal. I purchased a 5 day access and it automatically renewed. And I wasnt even notified about the cancellation through email, but the customer support tab where they send messages about the subscription. How the heck would I know to check that when it only say 24/7 customer support????

I've used this app a few times in the past and had success. now it's complete garbage. non-stop spam messages from bot accounts, profiles and listings are missing information that was obviously included, just letters missing, blanks when it comes to amounts of pay, etc. I would try your luck with a different app, this charges you to read messages by the week, month, or year. just go elsewhere!

I initially paid for 7 days to see if any of my 80+ emails were any good leads. My messages were still locked even though the charge had been made to my credit card. I contacted them via chat (where it said they respond within 30 min...) 26h later someone responded that I needed to show "proof of purchase" so I sent a screenshot of my cc charge, nope that wasn't enough. After 3 (out of 7) days they finally unlocked my messages and zero matches to my needs. Scam.

The only way to receive messages is to pay 10 dollars, which then only lasts 7 days. Otherwise they block out contact info, or delete your account if your contact info is in a photo. In other words, this app is completely unusable unless you pay 10 dollars a week. Even then, the chances you message another paying user is highly stacked against you. They trick users by allowing messages to be sent, without enabling the receiver to see or reply to them without paying. An elaborate waste of time

Total scam. I subscribed to a weekly plan, but after it ended, Roomster charged me for a monthly subscription instead of weekly one. They used to send emails that after you purchase that it will be renewed weekly etc, but since they had to charge me for monthly, they didn't send anything when I purchased it. Support claimed it was shown on the payment page, but I saw nothing about a switch to monthly. This is a shady, misleading app designed to trap users into unexpected charges. Stay away
