I have tried reinstalling. I tried to sign up via Facebook and via email. Neither works. The app just sits and loads indefinitely. The website, you find a listing, click to message the person, and get prompted to login (despite being logged in), then it takes you back to the homescreen! You can't even try to use it! The 5 star reviews are fake.
Absolutely HATE this app! I am currently locked out of my own account while I have an unfinished ad/profile up. They have a chat for customer service, but it takes FOREVER for them to respond. You also can't leave the chat room while waiting for the to respond, or it just deletes the chat. Number has been blocked twice. Whhhhhyyyy? They ap needs to lose up. U haven't even had a chance to see anything past the damn login screen for more than 5 minutes. Could not imagine giving money to this ap
No clue how they have a 4.1 review. You may not have to pay to download the app but you do have to pay to check any messages ever, so you can't actually talk with any renters without getting a subscription. They also send you messages when people message you that you can't see and to be frank I've had the app for about two weeks and just let it sit, haven't set any profile stuff or anything like that and I'm getting bombarded with "messages from renters" which.. I dont believe for a second.
I consider myself pretty technologically savy, and all I have to say is this app was seriously a struggle to use. Setting up your account and even logging in each time should not be so difficult. You have to login using your phone number every time you make changes, then the app will tell you you have too many logins. Thought setup may be easier on desktop, not the case. Eventually it said my account was not valid so I've uninstalled. Not worth the headache.
I discovered Roomster from a Craigslist ad; then I went down a rabbit's hole to spend more money to receive messages. I, immediately, requested to cancel, but was told it wasn't possible because I have been verified - well, if you don't get verified, you can not become a member 🤔. This platform is too much of a hassle. I, definitely, will not recommend it!!!
Not actually free. You can download it, make a profile, and see listings. But then you have to pay to actually receive messages from anyone, meaning the app is useless unless you pay for it. It feels deceptive to go through all those steps and then get hit a massive paywall. The fees are very expensive, I'm not buying a $48 per month subscription without knowing whether it could be useful.
Loooool came here to write a review to keep people away just to find people are all saying the same thing. Definitely just some sort of scam. Found a listing on Craigslist that seemed a little legit so I emailed them and the guy said to see the listing in more detail at a link. I click the link and it brings me to roomster. I have to sign in with my email (no biggie) and then I get a general list of rooms. Tell the guy that I don't see his listing and he responds by telling me I have to finish filling out my account. So I do and then it still doesn't work so I tell him that and then I get no response. Pretty sure he just wanted another app download and account so that they can say "x amount of app downloads and these amount of accounts, we're popular and useful!" When they're not. Stay away. Really just a waste of time.
This thing is a SCAM. There are more fake profiles on here than real ones, and they won't stop charging me random amounts of money! When you call "customer service" it's an automated line that says to sign in to write customer service but i deactivated my account and they won't let me sign in using the email anymore. I'll be disputing all charges!! They will be hearing from me once I get to someone. until this is resolved!!
This is horrible, I have been trying to cancel this subscription for like a whole month now. I'm getting charged every week for something I'm not even using. their website/app doesn't allow you to cancel your subscription there, no phone number to call customer service. When I text them explaining I want to cancel, someone replied back saying that I have to do it through playstore, now I'm on playstore and follow the steps nothing is happening. This is truly a nightmare 🤦♀️.
You have the pay for the messaging system, and even then it's full of scams. I allowed my number to be shown to verified members on my profile, and again, was only offered scams. Literally the same 3 scripts used over and over. In 2 hours I had over 10 "people" contact me, and all of them fell silent when I asked to schedule a time to meet up. Don't waste your time here. On the plus side, deleting an account is very easy and very fast.
