So here's my honest take on ROOT SPORTS Stream. I've tried a bunch of different sports streaming apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The ability to watch Mariners games live is the big draw, and it generally works pretty well for that. The app design is clean and easy to navigate, though it can be a little buggy at times. Compared to some other regional sports networks, I'd say the content selection and video quality are both pretty good. It's not perfect, but if you're a diehard PNW sports fan, this is a great way to catch your teams without cable.

Pros

  • Lets you stream live Mariners games and other regional sports
  • Decent app design, easy to use once you get the hang of it
  • Good video quality most of the time
  • Free trial so you can test it out
  • Cheaper than a full cable package if you just want sports

Cons

  • App can be a bit glitchy, crashes on me sometimes
  • Content selection is limited to just regional sports
  • Video quality can be spotty depending on your internet
  • Costs $20/month after the free trial

Description

Been using the ROOT SPORTS Stream app for a couple months now. It’s basically a way to watch the Pacific Northwest’s regional sports network on your phone, tablet, or TV. Pretty solid if you’re into watching your local sports teams play.

Here’s what you can do – you can stream live Mariners games, which is the main draw. There’s also other sports content like college games and stuff. It’s got a decent interface, takes a little getting used to at first but it works well enough.

Look, if you’re a big Mariners or PNW sports fan, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the video quality can be a bit spotty sometimes and the app crashes on me every now and then. But overall it does the job and is worth checking out, especially if you want to watch the home team without cable.
