So here's my honest take on RoughAnimator - animation app. I've tested a bunch of animation apps and this one's up there with the best. The tools are super robust but it's still pretty user-friendly. I like how you can import video for reference and the onion skinning is a game-changer. Not gonna lie, the learning curve is a bit steep, but once you get the hang of it, it's a really powerful app. Only real downside is the ads can be intrusive if you don't pay. But overall, I'd say it's one of the best animation apps on Android.

Description

Been using RoughAnimator – animation app for a couple months now. It’s basically a full-featured hand-drawn animation tool for Android. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you can do: There’s a super handy timeline with unlimited layers, so you can do pose-to-pose or straight-ahead animation. It’s got onion skinning, video import for rotoscoping, custom brushes, and a bunch of other pro-level features. Took me a while to figure some of it out, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really powerful.

Look, if you’re an animator – even a beginner one – you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to get into hand-drawn animation on your phone or tablet.

Good features for a standard flip book app, but not as good as ibis paint features for animation and such a clustered UI, not worth paying.

Loved this app. As an amateur self-taught animator with prior experience with toon boom harmony software, this app seems to be in the perfect spot between simplicity and functionality for...
