After downloading and getting all the expansions, and trying to import a character from a friends iPhone, the app now doesnt let me make a new character via either existing or a brand new character method. I would really love to use the app but I'm not sure how to fix the issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing has changed.
Reviews for RPG Scribe Pathfinder & 3.5e
← Back to RPG Scribe Pathfinder & 3.5eFantastic app. A MUST have for Pathfinder fans. Edit:. I have had this app for years. It keeps getting regular updates. Useful and meaningful updates. On several occasions I have tweeted them an idea or a wish for the game, and a few weeks later I see it added to the game. It has given me hours of entertainment. It is 100% worth the cost for the expansion packs. Download it, buy the expansions and convince all you're friends to do the same.
I am so thrilled this is on the play store. I had this for iOS back in the day and it was literally the only reason I still have my 5s kicking around. This app has pretty much everything srd 3.5 and pathfinder. The character creator is smooth, selecting active weapons calculates all the bonuses for you for less math. Very helpful when you have 5+ attacks per turn. Homebrew classes, items, and spells are easily added. Main take away is I will never use another app for 3.5 or pathfinder. Thanks
This is by far the most user-friendly, comprehensive character sheet app out there. While there are free options, if you play a lot of RPGs, they can't compare with this one and it's a great investment in keeping your character sheets nice and tidy, without having to scribble and delete stuff on paper sheets. RPing has never been more accessible!
Downgraded my review to 1 Star because this app keeps making itself more difficult and less customizable the further I go into updating the app to contain more things from official printing. There's quite a bit I'd like to change, and if FightClub 5e had a 3.5, I know I'd prefer that app. I even spent money on all the expansion packs, and it still has quite a few things missing and actual inaccuracies stemming from a lack of customizing options.
Recently bought the Pathfinder Expansion Pack and the added things are fantastic. Still a few issues though, that should be easily fixable. Perform is marked as class skill for druids, sizes other than small medium and large don't affect carry capacity, tiny and smaller sizes don't rekey Climb and Swim skills to Dexterity. As well, it would be nice to be able to do equipment/inventory and conditions on Companions; and to be able to rekey skills manually or with custom feats.
I love the app make character management waaay easier, I do want to ask the developers to start adding templates, its one of my favorite idea in pathfinder and 3e
fantastic app, my entire table uses it for Pathfinder 1e. Been using it for years at this point! Constant updates make it great.
I do like his app and it customization here hoping 4 more updates and added features. also on the pathfinder it would be cool to go beyond level 20. Also an option to upload an image 4 your created character.
I am very impressed with the easy to use features overall being able to modify things and add is great. I got to say that cost of buying it is well worth it in my opinion.
This is a pretty awesome and easy to use app(especially for a new and 1st time player like myself). Though It seems to be missing alot form 3.5e. I'm new but, alot of the items and other things I found in my buddies book aren't here. Also it would've been smart to make a site for people to host there databases since it's a built in feture to share. Would've been amazing I'm sure. 100% willing to bet the dedicated fandom would of add a complete database to import.
OK the app is great for core rule pathfinder and 3.5. to get traits, all the other classes, feats, spells, etc. etc. you need to buy the expansion. My advice? just download. pathbuilder. Pathbuilder gives you access to all content for pathfinder, and it's free. it has a simple unintrusive banner ad, that you can pay a small one time fee to eliminate. If your game is pathfinder, then pathbuilder is what you want.
Nit too bad. Bought it because it seemed to have more than some of the other apps, but it's missing Skald and Variant Tieflings. The very reason that I got it, and I keep seeing updates with more and more obscure classes and races but these have been left out. It's not a bad app, that's the end of my rant. 😅😅
Absolute must-have for newbie players. Makes character creation infinitely easier, since it gives you a filtered list of feats/skills/etc that you can take, which eliminates so much of the reading you might need to do otherwise. Other than that, this app is exactly what I was looking for. Unbelievably happy with the purchase. (Update: Has a Dark Theme now 🤘🏼)
Excellent app, works great for my 3.5e characters! Highly recommend it to any 3.5e players or DMs, as it's more than worth the price. I haven't tried the Pathfinder features personally, but I imagine they're of similar quality. One thing I'd love to see is support for bestiary creatures, as it would make it easier to keep track of NPCs as a DM or even a player (when using Summon Monster or Summon Nature's Ally for example), though I imagine that would be a time-consuming feature to add.
This app is pretty good and I have been using it for two characters now. My one issue is that it hides how much it cost. It says free but in order to get the rest of the stuff you have to buy add on packs. They were nice enough to spilt Pathfinder from D&D so I didn't have to spend money on stuff I was never going to use. They also do not have everything in the database yet but are still adding stuff. You can also add your own stuff into the database incase it's not there. Overall I love this app and will continue to use it for all my Pathfinder 1E needs.
RPG scribe costs $2.99, but that alone only has 26 total classes, that's the 11 core classes plus 15 Prestige classes, and the 7 base races. But no archetypes, not one. To get more classes, but not all of them, it costs $6.99, and with that you get 31 more classes, and 12 more prestige classes, but again, not all of them. You also get a lot of archetypes. A couple free apps have almost all the classes, prestige classes, and archetypes, for free (Ahem... Pathbuilder...). This app, no thanks.
Overall, an excellent app for basic character creation. There are a slew of 3.5 d&d classes, class variants, and races that could be ported in from the innumerable published 3.5 expansions that would make a number of players, including myself, very happy. For example, the warlock class and urban ranger variant class. I'm recently having a bug occur where the app will cease function when I try to select weapons for my character.
Wonderful, quick way to build characters. This will cover 95% of what you want. You can easily create custom feats, races, spells, and much more. Has a learning curve as there are minor counter-intuitive things (can't add traits until finishing setup for level 1, unable to easily rebalance skill points). Some niche builds can run into problems as well: Can't build a weapon-wielding Eidolon, can't make custom familiars, etc. 100% worth the price for the app and expansion pack.
My primary complaint is the la k of content, like, you really only have the Core Stuff, and Psionics (which you have to pay for), and that's it. So, it's a bit of a let down, because I have significantly less options than everyone else I play with, and adding things to the database is a PAIN. Other than that, I do like it, though.
