using easyride has led to two fines totalling 240 francs. The end user bears full responsibility for any technical issues regardless of their intention to purchase a ticket or not, and SBB is unforgiving about this. there are reports online of easyride stopping mid journey etc. in other words, please don't be fooled by the "easy" in "easyride". it is not a tool for last minute ticket purchases and it can fail, with high consequences.
Reviews for SBB Mobile
← Back to SBB MobileEasyRide showed that it was enabled. Then, when the controller came it was in the "pending" state. So I got a fine.
One of my daily apps, it has been quite nice over the years. Currently have an issue with EasyRide not working correctly, but hope it gets fixed in updates.
This is possibly the most frustrating app I've had to use. Apparently you can buy tickets with it but only of a certain kind. The other , common, tickets just don't show up as a selection. Seriously??
easyride now requires to not be in powersaver, which, considering that wasn't the case before, means the app is doing something else it doesn't need to be doing that requires background processing. edit: they replied, gave some bull and went "thank you for understanding". no, I don't believe you. this wasn't needed a week before my review, why is it suddenly needed now?
SBB Mobile has permanent and non-rejectable access to Google Pay - even if third-party access is prohibited within Google Pay. SBB does not respect user choice (compliance issue). Will report this to Google, so they take down this app until this is fixed. In terms of usability: there are four different screens, where tickets are listed, depending on whether or not they where created with easy-ride and whether they are still valid or not. One list (now to past): much easier!
determining location for easyride sometimes takes FOREVER and ticket inspectors treat you as without a valid ticket even if you are a few seconds late with the swipe. let us determine the location manually if you take up to 5 minutes to do it on your own, the train is not waiting. edit: changed to 1 star. Even more unreliable recently.
Clunky and hard to use. Here's the latest story: I thought I was traveling just outside the area covered by my annual pass, so I checked if I need an additional ticket. SBB app has that annual pass stored and happily takes it into account when I'm using EasyRide, but now when I tried to buy a regular point-to-point ticket it completely ignored the annual pass and sold me a full ticket, offering no option to get an extension. No refunds either, not even immediately after purchase.
I absolutely hate the prices, app works fine except the fact that sometimes it says you can get a ticket for cheaper than in actuality, which is really annoying. at least be honest with your prices
App worked great until it deceived user into a CHF 75 fine. If you have a half fare card associated with an expired Swiss Travel Pass, the app will have you pay half price when you buy a ticket and not inform you that it's doing so. Ticket collectors will then fine you CHF 75 over a CHF 3.5 price difference! If they're going to be that strict, then they should have equally strict standards for the app and automatically deactivate expired half fare cards. As it is, make sure to manually delete it
I use this app daily, pay my very expensive abo and buy tickets for my nieces, nephews and their grandparents on recurrent occasions. How is it that in all the years the app has existed, there isn't a way to simply send a ticket. I had to pay a fine because a family member was using a screenshot of a ticket I sent them instead of the real thing. How complicated is it to just have a single use link that invalidates the ticket I have on one phone to make it available on another?
Very convenient app to purchase tickets, lookup routes and timings. What I dislike is that the price displayed in search results is misleading because it expects you to have some faresaver card / day pass (when none has been setup in the app) or an upgrade (for a ticket that has not yet been purchased). While the day passes appears to be a good deal, it works out to be more expensive, if your plans are not firm or if your dates/duration changes afterwards.
Easy to use, accurate and very reliable. I've used it to travel throughout Switzerland as well as to international destinations in France and Italy, problemlos! I've also used the reimbursement feature successfully on two occasions when I had to change my plans. It does everything an SBB app should do ... just don't expect it to read your mind, too 🙂.
Every time I login and try to use it, I get an error message. I've allowed all cookies and logged out, uninstall and checked all the setting with no success on purchasing anything. All I can do is look at the routes. Super frustrating because I'm the only person in my friend group who can't purchase my ticket.
The easy ride is nice but DANGEROUS, use carefully. Even with sharing location, no battery optimizations,... It can reset the status and if you turn again inside the train, you will receive a ticket because it was after departure. SBB itself don't want to check the logs to see that you actually did before. It is possible revert the case, but it is unnecessary painful. PS: I still use the feature, but always scared checking every minute. PS: It is not a location problema, since it at least warns.
Horrible apps, nothing works, plenty of "oophs errors", can't buy train tickets (never managed to buy s single ticket - spent hours!), even the rude ticket counter person at train station could not buy a ticket on the apps! Very poor user interface. Even worse for our foreign guests. A true national embarrassment. Take a look at how smooth and efficient DB tickets are offered. 3 clicks gets you a paid ticket with real time schedulreupdqste throughout the trip.
Nice design and good ideas, but the app is too slow. Mine froze for a few minutes, and even though the agent saw it, they insisted on a fine. Instead of allowing time for the system to register, they say you should have known to buy a ticket anyway. Polite agents, but inflexible policy. procedure over purpose due to their technical problems.
This app used to be great but now it started sucking to the point that is almost unusable. First of all it's slow as molasses. Second, even if you know exactly what kind of ticket you want you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to it. It also doesn't know about delayed trains: if you select a train that it thinks has departed you can no longer buy a ticket, even if the train is delayed, even if they ticket would work on the next train. The app is too restrictive. #sad
This app could be really great, especially with how awesome the SBB network is. That said, it is very buggy. The app has crashed on me several times when researching connections and especially if I try to change station/direction. The app also crashes sometimes or doesn't load connections from the drag to connect feature. Finally, it also isn't always very clear which tickets are available and the price. When searching, it says tickets available from price X. However, when I click it is more.
Lately (last 3 versions as of this review) the Easy Ride feature has stopped functioning properly. Sometimes it will not work at all. Sometimes it will select First Class and charge you for that, even though I have never changed it from second class. If you save a trip, and try to select it to see what your transfer is, it will freeze the app. Everything about the app has gotten worse to the point of not functioning.
