Reviews for Screen and Photo Translator

← Back to Screen and Photo Translator

If you need a screen translator and don't mind the ads, there are better options than this one. In response to the devs, my main issue is not with the ads, which are invasive but pretty short. The translation seems to struggle turning on at times which is a bigger issue.

v.3.1.0: Probably the most useful screen translator I've ever used, it even has some text, photo, voice translation in-built on the app! The only problem is the lack of translator options, I think DeepL will be a good addition. Other than that, a very useful app. Keep up the good work!

I usually don't write reviews, but oh my god, this app is frustrating that you guys need to fix it. It's so slow every time I open it that it takes so long just to open sometimes. The translation sometimes is inaccurate and when I click watch video it doesn't even work. Horrible honestly fix the app.

As of now it's an Ok app. Still needs a lot of work and a bit iffy to work with but an Amazing concept. The fact that it requires to be paid to have full access is ....well feels a bit scammy but it has potential. Personally as someone who studies the subject I am translating ,I would really love for there to be a feature where the app only translates the pronunciation for the word and not the meaning(Romaji for Japanese) so I can still learn while I use this app on harder Language.

subscription. edit- yes you have a free version, but the pop ups for the subscription are constant and a pain to close, way more hassle than it's worth, many other translators do the same without being so intrusive.

Great for shopping online. I use it to read tags in Japanese and descriptions that are in photos which Google doesn't automatically translate. It's perfect for that, it isn't always 100% accurate with long text but for shorter stuff it gets the point across (ie. 100% cotton, made in Japan, ect.)

Updated. No point at all, even your support is incompetence at its finest. Downloaded this app for one task, to translate Chinese characters from a picture. It couldn't do this. Spoke with support, and they were as useless as the app is. My question is, what do the flags on the golden century slot machine say. Two symbols. The app couldn't Don't have the option to translate a picture if your software is incapable of translating a section of a picture. "Screen record?" Right that works.

I use this app whenever I play Japanese games and having the translation feature on the screen while I'm playing is extremely convenient and helpful! You get 30 times to translate before you need to watch an ad but I like using this app so much I just paid the one-time subscription with no-ads feature. However, I wish the translations were more accurate, like if the machine used DeepL rather than Google Translate.

fantastic app. thank you. solved my translating problem within seconds. no disturbing Ads like other useless app

It's a really nice app. I have been using it for a while now. It is very good. Great job you did with. It really translate in game conversations. Try it with SNES Japan RPG's. Translate direcly to the screen every word correctly, even with the right conjugation and correct sense. Not all translators do that, some doesn't have tense sensing at all. Just one tiny sugestion, SHOULD TRY TO ADD AUTO LANGUAGE DETECTION, PLEASE. IT WOULD BE AWESOME. And will make it the best. Everything else is great.

Oh great, I have over 800 translations remaining before the update & once updated, I was left with only 30. I have to re-watch the ads all over again. Not only that, now everytime I try to use it, this message popped up "The resource load of the free translation channel is too large, you can choose to switch the translation method or open a membership to use a more stable and fast translation channel". Unsure how to define 'too large'. So, I can't use it as a free app 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬

This app is fantastic! The translation is incredibly fast and accurate, making it super easy to understand text from screenshots and photos. A very useful and well-designed tool."

I could only use the app for a short while before it stopped working, telling me to either subscribe or watch a video. If not for this issue , I would've enjoyed making use of of it. The developers could've given an option for those that wants to make use of it for free, the subscription fee is equally way too high. I had no option than to uninstall it and download other better apps.

I dl this, right away there's an option to pay $15 a week for premium version. Haha, no. 30 translations a day on free version is where I 1 star & uninstall. 30 translations a day is imo an unreliable app. Goodbye.

I used this app mostly through photo and i do not speak the language i had to translate. The translation is trully good enough to understand the text (which was complex enough). However I assume some parts could be more accurate (the translation in some places is literal so you have to figure out the meaning). Some words are also not translated at all but again it is enough to understand overall, i used the type in function for them and it was just fine. All in all i am impressed!

It keeps asking me to subscribe, reasoning that the free translation server is busy. Yeah, nice try. I ain't falling for that. I understand you guys need to earn money, but if you really want to earn more, then say it straight to our faces, not come up with an excuse to make us subscribe. I was fine watching Ads to get another limited translation chances, but nahhh. This translator app is mid. One star. I'd give it 0 star if I could.

The app is useful most of the time. I mainly use it to translate Indonesian and Japanese into English or French. But sometimes, even though the picture is clear and everything readable, it only partially translates. Also, sometimes I'm in a rush and... UNSKIPPABLE ADS! I get it though. The app is free and the developers need to eat. But it's still annoying.

Practically malware. First thing it does is offer a "free" three-day trial, which requires your payment info. If you close the trial offer, it opens a minute-long unskippable ad, which opens a link to whatever garbage game the ad was for. Worst of all, the app doesn't even run after the ad, and it automatically installs the game from the ad without permission. In regard to the developer's reponse... you should absolutely not be proud to confirm anything I said. Your app does less than nothing.

The Translations are not accurate. I also cannot tell if the text is being read correctly or not so I can't tell if the app is failing to recognize the text properly or if the app is just bad at translating. Either way, it's too much effort. The strange thing is prior to paying for ad removal, the Translations seemed fairly accurate... It wasn't until after that's began noticing bad translations.

Well. I planned to leave a review 7 weeks ago, I didn't realize it took me to email them directly since it wasn't 5 stars. So, I was okay with that figured they'd get back to me like they said. Anyway I'll leave it myself, paid another month accidentally, I play foreign games typically a lot of text based. It's quite far from accurate on the translation and doesn't always pick up everything in game screen. Keeping it short.. I don't think it's worth the price for what I do. no email back still
