after using scribe for years they have decided to no longer take my payment so now I have lost all my saved auto. I have even tried to pay the extra to keep listening and it won't let me . this is a big let down as I loved this app and used it all the time

Used to LOVE Scribd—$7.99 for unlimited books, way better than Audible or Kindle. I recommended it to everyone. Now? $11.99, merged with Everand, and all I see are random PDFs, no real books, nothing I search for works. The catalog I loved is gone. Scribd, you were amazing, now you’re trash, and I’m beyond disappointed.

‎⚠️ BEFORE YOU MAKE THIS SAME MISTAKE SUBSCRIBING TO SCRIBD! ⚠️ ‎ ‎Are you ready to be CHARGED EVEN AFTER YOU CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION? Scribd’s system automatically SAVES your card details and will still charge you $9.99 once the trial ends — even though you’ve already cancelled. ‎ ‎ SCRIBD:DECEPTIVE,EXPLOITERS,GREEDY!I won't lie to you. Except you don't care about value for money. Am telling you the whole truth

I have a paid subscription & use both the app & website, and the app is pretty much useless because it doesn't load any documents when you click "read now". I had the app years ago and always encountered this issue and I guess they never fixed it. Please make this function work in the app, thanks.

constantly charged. deleted subscription and account but account been charged 3 times since. can't figure out another way of contacting. I did the online FAQ to be told by the chat I wasn't logged in. do not purchase the trial... been talking to automation for weeks and still not resolved asking for order numbers I do not have.

Doesn't have ads in my experience but you are still required to watch ads (don't ask, it's their deal, not mine) l, ads are required for blank pages (again, no idea why), they lie about requiring one ad per 5 pages when its really 3-6 per page! its mostly just blank ads, not enough book content. Pretty pathetic, really.

No longer has books. Literally the stated point of the app. Memberships have been moved, I believe in tact, to a near-identical app which you are forced to download if you want to access your content. I assume this is some branding issue due to the rampant plagiarism on the platform, but it's a weird way to fix that.

It's gotten much worse. I cancelled it for my Google play subscriptions, it kept getting billed without realizing it. had to install the app, go to account, it then sent me to the website, where I had to cancel it. very disappointed.

Awesome for non fiction art books!!! Unsure about fiction. That seems quite limited in comparison. Some scans are better quality than others but much better than having to wait for the library to get old tattered copies. A lot probably arnt in circulation anymore even. I just hope the price doesn't increase too much.

great informational app only thing I would fix is having to repay for a subscription with new email addresses due to a lost or stolen phone. wish we could pay a one time fee and also wish we could fully view books n such completely without subscription. other than that it's a great app

DO NOT UPGRADE OR CHANGE SUBSCRIPTIONS- if you've been a loyal subscriber and you opt to "upgrade" to their new tiered format you will lose any books, audiobooks, & magazines, etc you've saved but did not open (ie your TBR list). You're now going to be charged an "unlock" for each and you get 3 books per month- unlimited reading is gone. And once you've switched you cannot go back to your legacy subscription. Amazon Unlimited, Legible, & Kobo are better options for readers.

Don't waste your time on the free trial, use audible instead! I signed up for the free 30 day trial. I logged in to cancel the automatic subscription one day after my trial expired, but because they automatically started playing the audio book I had open from my previous session, they claimed that I accessed premium content and refused to refund me. Now I'm forced to pay for a YEAR, ridiculous!

If you want the best reading app this is definitely the one to get ! It's inexpensive, worth every penny. I've had this app for some time and it has never failed me, I found books on here that other book apps didn't have or offer. I can find anything I'm looking for even things I didn't know I wanted to read. Download and save offline. It's better than your local library. The audio is better than any other app. If you're a reader trust me this is the app you want to get.

I wanted to love this app. When I first started using it I could listen to any book. Now I have to use unlocks. But I pay the extra for 3 unlocks a month. The problem is NO customer service. I had an issue a few months ago and reported it but never got a response. Now I've used an unlock for a book that won't open or download. I sent a messKindle keep checking my ticket but NO response. So I've wasted money on a book I can't read. I'm just going to cancel and stick with Audibles and Kindle.

The app does not sync well with the desktop version. A new document version updated on their website is not reflected on the app. Even though I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times, I'm still getting the old version on my phone when I search for it. I wonder how long it will take for the change to make its way to my phone...

Update: I'm an idiot. I was using a VPN! Once I turned it off I could log in, no problem. I've changed my rating to 5 stars. FWIW, I appreciate Scribd's prompt response I've been using this app for years without problems but haven't been able to use it (or Everand) for several days. The app says I am not logged in (even though I can see my saved list) but I can't log in - password doesn't work and I go into the endless sign-in cycle between the app and the website. Frustrating.

they have gotten greedy and apparently have 2 plans. and have titles that, of course, are only available in the more expensive plan now. The worse thing is there is absolutely no way to upgrade to the plus plan! I've tried through Google, like they tell you, I've gone to the website, and looked in the app. there is no way to change the subscription. I used to love this app. no I cannot even recommend like I used to

This app was great when it first came out. Now they are taking away audiobooks in the middle of listening to them and when I reached out, customer service basically said that I listen to too many books and they are limited now and that I should upgrade my plan. why would I pay more for awful service? on top of that, books will be available when I add them to my tbr but within a couple of days they tell me that I have to wait another month to access them. I'm canceling my subscription.

TOTAL RIPOFF. It is so difficult to cancel my subscription. Even with a subscription, downloading and saving things is hit or miss; they'll just inexplicably disappear. They've made it a complicated loop where you can't cancel via the app, but when you follow the steps to cancel via the website, it will not log take you any further than logging you in to you account back in the app. There is no direct customer support, only the option to send an email. A complete waste of time and money.

This app WAS PERFECT!! it had a collection of documents, audiobooks, and books - that sometimes (mainly the docs) you couldn't find anywhere else. Then it turns into "Everand" which sucks! It deletes your saved items for no reason. It cuts the amount of books you can search significantly, and the audiobooks - same. So whats the point of paying for something that has decreased it's quality? I searched 4 SCRIBD... I will see if it works just like it did... and if it doesn't..I will cancel it.
