Good app, needs a few tweaks, e.g. should log you off when exiting app, instead of leaving your status as "online" so that people think you're ignoring them when you don't reply to a message right away. Also, there should be a setting to limit how far away you want for Match Stacks -- most of us are not traveling 300+ miles to meet someone.

I'll tell you what I would like to know..... with all of the spam and Bot accounts running around.... why do I have to be a paying member to block people? why should I have to pay $15 a month to not be harassed? I'm deleting this app solely because of this.
I had the app for about six years. Distance is less accurate than the one that rhymes with winder but is a tad more reliable than the one that rhymes with hacked. No one reads profiles! This leads to unwanted messages and no way to prevent them unless you pay for the pro version. Spam messages, ads and fake profiles are in abundance which makes finding someone worth talking to quite the challenge. As a final note, if you're looking for love or anything like it, this is NOT the place for it.
Don't pay for it. Scruff terminated my pro account this morning without explanation. It's in the middle of a subscription period. It still shows as active in my subscriptions through Google, but I was informed it had expired and those features disabled. I've met one two people (in person) in a year on the app...I don't think it's helpful or good for me--and now that I'm finding it poorly managed, too, I can't justify having it around. I'll update this if they fix (or even acknowledge it).
Looked like a nice app, so I didn't give it one star. But I'm 19 and my photos got flagged as underage, I'm near the limit, so you'd think there'd be some kind of verification instead of just NOT letting you have pfps? Couldn't even contact support cause I already put in a request to add demi genders to the list, and wouldn't let me create a new request. Disappointed.
Developers getting greedier, maybe even worse than Grindr. Your grid is limited to just a few dozen people surrounding you -- can't even go to the next city. And you can also CREATE a private photo album, but can't actually share it with anyone when you're using the free option. What's the point of creating the album if it just sits there? You can't use it, can't share it, nobody can see it, but if you click on the "share" option, you immediately get a popup demanding that you pay.
The app just stopped working over the last two days. No feedback from scruff support. I have a pro membership that I am unable to use. Messages show as delivered but the recipients are not actually receiving them. The app is freezing and becomes unresponsive. I've tried on WiFi, on my cellular network, alternate WiFi and installed on a different phone. Still having the same issue. I've already opened a request with support. If the issue is not resolved I will be canceling my membership.
Simply doesn't work anymore. I have been getting connection errors for weeks, no fixes with latest update. I'm paying for a subscription I don't get to use. Contact customer support and weeks later and still no response. Update:. Issue fixed. They told me that I had to go clear my data. Still waiting to see if they will credit my account for the month I was unable to use the app.
Not my favorite app but I decided recently to give it another try. I keep getting an error message that it can't save my profile. Been trying for over a week multiple times a day. Have tried contacting support multiple times and have heard nothing from anyone and the problem hasn't been fixed. Just stay away from this one because if you have any problems clearly "support" is just a word they use. Because they sure don't help you with anything.
Good app. Nice picture size and quality. Good way to meet like minded individuals or groups if you're into that. Gave 3 stars because they recently took away ability to screen shots chat thread and gallery. They already have disappearing pictures available and they should leave the decision up to the user whether they want pics or chats available to screen shot. It makes it more difficult to save contact info onto the device. Now you have to write it down before it disappears into the thread.
Support for the app sucks. Haven't been able to log in for two weeks now, did the trouble-shooting, reached out to support, didn't hear from them for 5 days, and when I did all I was told was to "turn on your Wi-Fi, force-close the app, and restart." Lol, I'd already done that, but I did it again just for the exercise. When I replied saying that I still couldn't access my account, the response I got was that my issue was deemed solved and the case was closed. Very terse unfriendly and impersonal
The things that this app DOESN'T let you do unless you pay are, quite frankly, BS. Here are some things you can't do unless you subscribe to the pro version: Store more than two recent photos for sharing Have more than a couple private photos in an album to share View past conversations more than a day old See photos shared more than a day ago. If there were no ads, I'd understand. But there are. Come on. Update: as you can see, Scruff responded with a generic paragraph.
8/14 -update it took 4 DAYS to resolve the issue. That's still an unacceptable amount of time. signed up, paid for pro. 2 days later, can't log in. Submitted support ticket, they said it was resolved, i told them it wasn't. I'm on day 3 of not being able to log in. support is ingoring my requests. Can't log in to cancel monthly billing, so they are able to keep on taking my money.
Ugh. This app went from great to excrement. I had been on an annual subscription. several months ago I had a massive charge on my credit card that I didn't recognize. Turns out, they decided to bill all at one time. Extra irritating, they switched who they billed through, so it hit a card I don't use. Fortunately my dispute was resolved by the CC company and I ended my subscription. Now, every feature seems to require a fee. The ads are repetitive and innumerable.
Your app can't even run an accurate real-time search of profiles currently online. Oh, the option is there for one to select, it's just that the results are riddled with profiles that aren't actually online and haven't been for 10, 15, and even 20 minutes - according to the status reported right at the top of their profile when you open it. LAME! And you want me to trust you with my data?
The latest update changed the way the search works. Previously, you could search nearby with one tab, and by manually entering the information in a separate tab. They combined the search into one tab, making it less convenient to use. Also, there's no way to view the user created favorite folders. Both of these issues need to be fixed. I'm seriously considering canceling my paid subscription if they're not fixed.
Was the best app and became the worst. They're learning from their big sister, "grindr" . You can't do anything in the free version, and even if you like me, I was a subscriber for at least 3 years in a row. You can't do anything without paying again and of course, let's not mention the increase in price from 29 USD for 3 months, they increased it to 55 USD. And with the same features, it was at the old "free" version. Shame.
This is the worst app I have ever had the utter displeasure of using, the first day I had it was great! I made new friends, connections and even set up a date.. then the next day rolled around. I had tried to verify my account, which had been completely denied the first time, despite following their silly prompts. Then when I submitted the second verification photo it went through! but shortly after I found out that the first failed verification had shadowbanned my account! DO NOT USE THIS APP!
I have been a subscriber for a few years but don't use it very often. I let my subscription lapse, now the app is unusable. They limit your past messages, feed you an ad after each click for some reason. I have seen many complaints but it wasn't my experience. 90% of the men on the app don't respond, it makes it hard to want to spend money anymore to be ignored. That is a pretty normal Scruff experience from what I am learning. It's pricey and seems to be headed the way of Manhunt and Growlr.
don't add your social. creeps will creep. it used to be full of actual people & a majority had full profiles. I was able to block 1 here & there. made honest interactions. I had curated what I thought what scruff was or I guess could be. but it got to a point where It's not a safe app anymore. you can't block more than 1000 blank profiles. I got too comfortable & forgot I had my social up. yikes! Now it's basically another grinder but with less users. and they want me to pay for this?
