Messages and notifications come in extremely delayed after the other party responds, takes about 10-15 minutes for them to come through on my end sometimes. Kind of frustrating during an active conversation.
Reviews for Session – Private Messenger
It was a little confusing getting it set up, but once we figured out how it works, it's awesome! I am using it mainly at work on wifi only as I cannot get this phone to work with the carrier it is locked to. Session is a great solution to this situation.
There was an update that broke my PC version for a day, followed by a newer versinversion. Unfortunately the linux version is a .run file. Each update has a new name which makes autostart a pain. So it isn't perfect, but I have found it to be good and works well.
I really love using Session, but I’d like to raise a feature request. Please consider adding typing indicators and message seen receipts, so that both sender and receiver can know when the other is typing and when messages have been read. I send thousands of messages, but there’s currently no way to see if the other person is typing or has seen them. This would greatly improve the chat experience.
It's a nice instant messaging App. I would like to point out two things; i suppose the Account ID should be short for easy memorization also a user should be allowed to create a password of his choice.
Pros: Completely anonymous & secure messenger. Highly recommended! Cons: Call quality & connecting speed could be better. Files size more than 10 MB can't be sent. No option to edit sent messages. So please improve these limits as well.
impossible to know if you sent the message, needs at least 10 tries to send it and to top it off the recipient might not even get the message hours or days later. Doesnt seem like they do anything to fix it, only getting worse. not recommended. And no i will not contact your support for a failure from your side.
Pretty good. I like that it's secure. It doesn't always auto-scroll down to new messages as they come in, seems a bit laggy sometimes, and it could use an easy way to set a specific notification sound for it instead of a generic announcement tone.
App's great n all but... you realize the issue with the recovery phrase right? It's very long and random for sure, but there's actually no way of knowing if it's been compromised, and the one phrase works for all devices related to your account. A compromised recovery phrase is a major issue that it doesn't seem like the devs here even thought about.
Chatting experience is good. Ability to signup without phone number is highlight of app but it seriously lacks video and audio calling capabilities. Also there is a limit of 10MB for sending files, which is very small. It should be at least 100MB. It is good for very basic chatting, due to those reasons I don't think most of my friends will be switching to this app.
