Didn't help or make a difference like I was hoping. I chose "active" protection and scam calls still got through. I went in and adjusted the block call settings and still had one get through. No calls were blocked in the time that I was using the app. I could identify a questionable call before getting this app, what I need is an app that won't let the calls come through.
Reviews for Should I Answer?
My spam calls have dropped 90% or more since installing this on my Galaxy S8 since it uses a continually updated database by the user community. I was also able to selectively block my entire home area code (except for stored numbers) with just one entry. Great and still free product! And pretty easy to use. I do temporarily disable the ACTIVE blocking if i'm expecting a call from an unknown number. But it only takes a few clicks to do so.
Like others complain about.. the nag notifications about updating the database are getting extremely annoying. No way to shut them off. You need to pay for premium (a monthly subscription) to get rid the constant update notifications. The updates are useful, but not as often as they basically demand you to (to quit the nagging popups). It used to be a good app, now it's just getting on my nerves. Don't bother anymore. The notifications are basically just an ad for premium to save your sanity.
Let me edit my review. I've had some unwanted calls blocked. I still get a few robo calls, but it's getting better. I guess I just needed to give the app more time. Still not perfect, but better. I'll give it a little more time... 🤔I'm still getting unwanted calls.bi can add a number to the do-not accept list, but that's not what I really want to have to do. Guess I'll have to pay to not receive calls from numbers not in my contacts. ☹️
After almost losing it and about to chuck my phone at a wall, I finally found an app that works, and not just one that works, it works way better than I ever could have imagined. Getting over 15 calls a day from random numbers is now reduced to 0. I dont even get notifications or a half a ring before the caller gets blocked like other apps, its just silence.... amazing. this is an app everyone needs to know about and install immediately.
App used to be better. Now, its kind of "meh". It can still work, but there are a lot of annoyances. Biggest one is the constant daily notification of "database needs to be updated" with no way to disable. Other one is from one of the latest updates, my call log list is locked at 10-11 numbers. I would like to see ALL my recent calls as there are numbers i dont save but still need to reference a few days later. Instead they get "pushed off" because of recent spam calls that are not blocked
I still find the app confusing. Sometimes it notifies me when a call is spam, sometimes it doesn't, even though it's already been set as spam. I'm not sure when it's working automatically or not. Some legit numbers are blocked when I have not selected a spam category. Probably user error, but that tells me the app is not intuitive. I have 20+ years of technology experience, so I should be able to easily understand how this app works.
VERY HAPPY!! I had a problem getting calls from hidden numbers (necessary because that's the only way my therapist is allowed to contact patients by phone), and SIA tech support responded quickly. It turns out that it's the Samsung phone app that was set to block "unknown callers" by default. I hadn't thought to check the phone app. Anyway, I appreciate the quick response.
Easily one of the best most useful apps on my phone. Want to reduce high blood pressure? IMO this can help. I used to get sooooo many bot/spam calls. Now the ONLY calls that get through are those I want. I'm not aware there even was a spam call until a silent notification pops up. They all have the option to leave a voice mail, but rarely do. . .because these calls are 95% bogus. It is such a relief. I have difficulty getting to the screen where I can hang up. So I dropped a star.
Good app for filtering out spam and telemarketing calls. If it's a number in the database, it tells you how it is rated. If it's not in the database, you can report whether it's good or spam, telemarketing etc. Numbers in your contacts list are assumed safe, so you don't have to rate them. No mandatory charge, but they do like you to contribute if you care to, so they can keep it going.
