Recorder picks up sounds well, but about half them are miscategorized. That in itself isn't bad if you could put them in the right categories so it could learn, but you can't. The only option you're given for each recording is to delete it. Thus, whatever features are based on the recordings are unintelligent and unreliable. I'll keep using it to monitor the sounds it captures, but tracking stats based on those sounds is completely useless.
Reviews for ShutEye®: Sleep Tracker
← Back to ShutEye®: Sleep TrackerLooks promising. The only catch is that you can't truly test it out without providing credit card information. If you're going to offer a free trial, then make it a free trial. If I like the software, then I'll purchase it. Don't prey on people and charge them for potential something they didn't want to purchase, and were just slow at canceling.
App worked so well during the free trail, I decided to go ahead for the year subscription. Since then, evry night it says there was an unexpected error and shut down. This then erases most of the data from the night. If you want go record noises, you have to set them every night, unlike the free mode it automatically captured noises. Very disappointed that I wasted the money.
EDIT: No edit of wakeup time if you don't stop it. Goes on recording, assumes you're in bed even if driving! This app is not well suited for those who sleep with a fan, or with someone else, or with a pet in the house. Lots of false positives which affect the sleep score and recordings, and usefulness of the app. Alarm only plays through Bluetooth if connected. I bought the whole year so I will continue giving it a chance, but after several weeks, it's not looking like I made a great choice.
ShutEye is designed to categorize recordings automatically by whether it was snoring, talking, apnea or pets. The automatic categorization has about a 10% success rate. There's no way to manually correct it and have useful data to analyze as an end result (this would be a much more acceptable problem if there were). Each category seems limited to 15 recordings. It would be nice if that was configured. Notes in the journal cannot be edited. If I have a bad night, I can't track it.
Downloaded the app and it worked fine at first. I really liked it. Then several months ago it started getting glitchy. It would shut down during the night. It would show a different time then what I started it at. The scores was always low even though it said everything was good. I logged out thinking this might help. Now I cannot get logged back on. I cannot get a password reset. I cannot find were the information is backup to online. I tried contacting support but as of yet no response.
App is not useful. Sleep logs are inaccurate and label nighttime activities incorrectly. Additionally, I attempted to contact the company multiple times to request a refund 2 days after being auto-charged. I received a prompt response initially (though it may have been automated). However, then the company repeatedly told me that my Google Play transaction ID was wrong and ignored all my further attempts to respond to their emails with screenshots of the Google Play transaction.
horrible. downloaded and immediately started pressing me to get a 12 MONTH membership with auto renewal for $59.99 or something like that then since i was just curious and peess skip, then 50% off for all the features and it wont even allow me to do the trial. so I come to the conclusion it's just a money grab app that wants you to hook up right away and take your money. if you dont like the app afterwards who cares? they got your money already for an entire year. $25x1000= that's 25k for 1000
Sorting reviews by most recent, I noticed A LOT of 1 star reviews... but the app is boasting a 4.6 rating. That's fishy. As others have said, everything you want to use to find out about your sleep is locked behind a subscription, no free trial for 7 days seems to exist. After all the horror stories about being charged immediately and refunds being tough to get (even when following the refund policy), I decided it was not worth it. I might have signed up for a low monthly, but not a year.
I love what Shuteye does WHEN it works correctly. I had an issue where the app wasn't recording sounds, was logging the wrong times, or nothing at all. I had cleared more space in my phone, made sure that charging was not an issue, and contacted them about the problem. They emailed me back saying (redundantly) to make sure I have room in my phone (yet they never say how much) and to make sure phone is charged. So, they just didn't help me. When this app works, I love ask the info it records.
Signed up for this app due to it having a 7-day trial period so I could see if I liked it. Downloaded it, created an account, and the next day was charged full price for a membership, no free trial allowed. Faulty advertisement and now I've paid for an app I dont want to use because it's scamy to advertise a trial but take the money anyways. Will look for a different app
Hello, when I first got the app during the trial, I contacted about how the app did not work. However, I was charged and tried to continue to use it. Each time I use the app, it calculates my sleep, snore rime, etc. All of a sudden, the data changes as if the original correct data never happened. Disappears & gives a new shorter time of sleep, erases the snore time & sound & all othe categories as 0min. The app does not work correctly. It is a problem for ill patients trying to get help w insomn
I was charged for a premium subscription a day before the trial period ended. I disputed the charge and the producers of the app said I'm responsible for the charges anyway. Not cool. Especially since in the Google Play store it says the subscription is canceled so now I'm still out the money but ALSO can't access the app that I'm being forced to pay $65 for. Completely ridiculous. And it's not a very good app anyway.
If I could give a lower star rating I would. Signed up for the free trial, & agreed to pay the discounted price. The app said I had access to all premium features. Set it up to run the first night, and it did absolutely nothing. It told me to swipe up under my journal, but I couldn't. And yes I was logged in. App did nothing wouldn't give access to premium features, but I refused to track. App is totally worthless. I cancelled immediately via Google Pay.
Gives a lot of useful info, but it's not accurate enough, I don't think, to rely on. For instance: I was literally awake all night except for about 10 minutes. I got up, was walking around the house, uttering curses because I was awake. The app thought I got nearly four hours of deep sleep and didn't detect that I was awake at all. It did record the expletives I uttered, and the fart, the and the low noise my ceiling fan makes, it's really good at recording things, just not that you're asleep.
The language/wording is off. incorrect words are used or words are misplaced, it's off putting. I also did not find the voices for the meditations or other features soothing at all. The recordings were sort of interesting, but it mostly just alerts to the a/c turning on and light movement. I also didn't like that you don't get a report until after 7 days, but the trial has to be canceled within 7 days. I think if you sleep alone and don't use any white or ambient noise, the app would be okay.
It is ok. The results were somewhat similar to what my Fitbit showed, which actually surprised me, so it does seem to generally work. I would have liked to see if the recordings were for myself or my wife's sounds, but it appears that none of that is available until after you pay and other reviews seem to have a problem with the so called "free trial". Maybe the company should give one night totally free before starting that 1 week free trial that too many people have a problem with.
I don't have an issue with how the app worked. What I am unhappy about is I thought this was a free trial! The first night I apparently didn't figure it out and didn't get anything accomplished except to play soothing sounds. The second night I finally figured out how to track my sleep. So I dId that one night and have already been charged $32.46 and NOW it is offering me the 7 day free trial! I want a refund!!! With others also thinking same, their membership structure isobviously misleading.
I'm really satisfied with the first nights use! It records every sound and categorizes them too. My dog barked this morning and it says "sounds your animal made"!... it does this for all sounds, footsteps, snoring, talking in your sleep, environment sounds, etc! I love this app and will have it for a long time. It also keeps score after 1 week and you can keep a daily journal if that's what you like. It tells you when you fell asleep and your different stages of sleep through the entire night.
The app worked great the first night. However, several mornings in a row, it says that it shut down unexpectedly during the night (it was running when I got up) and only recorded a couple of hours. Also, the app volume is tied to the notifications volume, meaning that I can't mute the notifications and still use the app to its full capacity. Notifications interrupt the app which is jarring. The app is a great idea but definitely needs some work. Uninstalling and canceling subx.
