The app is one of my all time favorites. I've been cooking at home for years, but this still helps in those weeks i wanna just eat and not think about it. And the meals themselves are delicious. And you learn new dishes and skills! Minor negative, the times on some of the things, like how long something needs to simmer or roast, seem off sometimes. Also there's a bit to much curry powder

I really love this app. The Sorted team has done a wonderful job of creating recipe packs that use up all the ingredients you buy. I love their commitment to reducing food waste and home cooking with fresh ingredients. The only very rare problems I have are sometimes with sourcing ingredients (to he fair I live on the other side of an ocean from them) and the occasional timings (I have this issue with recipes from anywhere, honestly). 10/10 would recommend. :)

Originally I signed up for Sidekick thinking that I wouldn't use it very much, but I was happy to support SortedFood. Only 1 year later, I find myself relying on it nearly every week. I've always enjoyed cooking but often wasn't very efficient in the kitchen. For meals I would usually take at least 1 hour to cook not to mention clean. The Sidekick app has really helped me learn how to whip up meals efficiently and easily. Thanks! 😁

(I am a subscriber in the US.) If you're in the UK, I'd give the app 5 stars. Full stop, it's great. But there are some issues from this side of the Atlantic. Though they offer measurements in both metric and imperial, the instructions are only in metric, so imperial is pointless. The ingredients list does not account for US packaging sizes, so "no food waste" is MUCH harder because it's just not designed for the US market. The meals themselves are delicious, but it needs a real US version.

The latest version is terrible- I've had the same two recipes showing as "new" on the main page since the update happened. And since I've been subscribed for a few months now, I've basically cooked all of the other packs that I'm interested in. This is the third week in a row that I haven't been able to find anything new to cook, so I'm just wasting money on a useless product. Your users are paying a good amount of money, the least you can do is give us something new once a week.

I love the app, but it is kind of made without bad American stores in mind. I love the concept, The reduced waste, the audio guides, but walmart doesn't stock chestnut mushrooms. I've never even seen or heard of that before. I've shoped Kroger, costco, walmart, and sometimes whole foods, and a lot of these ingredients can't be found. Some things have easy substitutions, but will protabellos ruin my dish. No idea, I'll find out later. And yeah Amazon has everything but it's supposed to be simpler

I've been having a hard time deciding what to make for dinner recently, there was just too much planning involved in choosing meals in a way that didn't leave a lot of leftover items in the fridge. This app feels like it was made for me lol. I now look forward to making dinner cause i know exactly what I'm going to make! Also its always delicious and takes exactly the amount of time it says it will to prepare which is a nice surprise too. Thanks for this app, it's a lifesaver!

I purchased a year's subscription as a gift, but it has been a terrible experience. We were frequently signed out, needed support for password resets, and experienced a bug where we couldn't find results for basic items like chicken or pasta across multiple devices. Additionally, the app doesn't is capable of simultaneous logins on two devices according to support. To make matters worse, support refuses refunds if you're past the 14-day window, regardless of the issues. Stick to the free options

Good food packs, but the app itself is terrible. The packs apply to the day before when in the plan menu, often times it's missing meals, ie you should have a total of 6 or so but I have had anywhere from 3 to 5. And now it's harder to keep track of which packs you selected, because it goes from, select two weekly to select which meal for which day.

This app is really great. I recently left a situation where I was sharing meal prep and this has really helped with that feeling less overwhelming. I have weird dietary restrictions and I've gotten really familiar with substitutions that work. I've expanded my range of "pantry staples" and the range of flavors is fantastic. One feature I'd love to see is the ability to label a day of the week as a meal not from the app (takeout, etc), so I can see the plan for the week at a glance

I love the idea of this app. For me the best thing this app does is create a perfect shopping list. I don't like that I'm limited to 5 meals a week, I would love to be using the app to plan a full week of meals. You can look up and use the guide on any recipe, but you can't add it to the planner for the shopping list function. I also have a lot of issues with removing or changing the meals I've picked for the week. If I remove something, I can't seem to add it back. It just shows as a blank.

I love the Sorted team, and was excited to give Sidekick a try. I purchased a full year just to discover that most of the recipes contain ingredients which I am unable to easily access where I live. This allows more creative liberties which are great whilst cooking, but I would have enjoyed trying these recipes in their true form. Tl;dr -- Great app, but more difficult for people in rural areas to use.

I love the idea of the app. When the app opens up and loads the recipes, it is easy to use, helps keep my grocery shopping organized and I get to cook cool new recipes. I have continuously had issues opening the app and getting it to load. I have a Samsung phone, so I don't know if it related to that and it works better on iPhones.

During the first few years, when it was Meal Packs, I really enjoyed the app and found it useful. Overtime, the recipes have gotten more complicated and require more equipment and ingredients than what I am able to afford or find in my area. I'm in the rural Midwest USA. The conversions have been difficult and lately I have too many leftovers and the food is claggy and heavy. Not every dish needs a sauce or a starch and could do with fresher/lighter options. I love Sorted though.

I love how accessible the app is, and the amount of love and time the team puts in it really shows. I'd give it five stars, but I've found one issue that has been bothering me for a couple weeks. I have to prep meals ahead of time given my third shift schedule, and a lot of the meals and foods I've tried don't reheat properly. Don't get me wrong, I have found some that worked well! I just wish there were more, or a way to search for meal-prep friendly meals if I've missed them.

We've been using Sidekick for about 2 months now, and we love it! Coming from someone who has decent experience as a home cook, the recipes are easy to follow and plan out. Most of the recipes are quick as well, so cooking meals during the workweek isn't a hassle, and it has actually been easier to make dinners over reaching for takeout. I also really appreciate that the portioning is pretty accurate, which can be difficult when you're cooking for just 2 people. Overall, we definitely recommend!

Great tool overall for trying new recipes, limiting food waste, and improving confidence with cooking. The portion sizes are often a bit off. Sometimes we end up with tons of leftovers and other times we just have enough for one meal. They are constantly adding new recipes, so I'm hoping to see them eventually work with a dietician to get some better-balanced meals available. The meat-focused recipes are often missing veggies, and the vegetarian recipes are usually too low in protein.

Absolutely love this app!! This app has completely changed how we tackle our meal planning for the week and our weekly grocery shops!! The app is well designed, the meals are unique and it's great to clean out our fridge and try unique ingredients in the process. Cannot recommend this enough and it's great that we can share the account so my husband and I can cook with or without each other!!

Although we enjoy the food the support for accounts is slow, and frequently needed. Taking three or more business days to get any response or resolution. All the while being unable to use the app at all. We have also experianced our request for assistance stating it is waiting on action from us despite not having been contacted by anyone yet.

I love that sidekick makes it easy for me to choose what to eat for the week! There's a wide selection of dishes so I never get bored, but at the same time it's not overwhelming like searching the entire Internet for a recipe can be. As one person, I've found that cooking the 2 person servings for the Meal Packs (usually comes out to 3-4 servings, in my experience) makes enough for almost all my lunches and dinners in a week. And I'm eating a lot more vegetables than I otherwise would!
