This is just a simple app but I like it. It gives you a morning verse, an afternoon quote and an evening verse. It gives you an option to type in your evening thoughts and record your evening mood. I do not think it saves what you type in though. I wish it did. An alarm can be set for what times you want the verses and quote to be set for. the alarm isn't loud or annoying, it's actually kinda quiet Over all, for being a simple app I like it.
Reviews for Simple Bible Daily Verse Alarm
← Back to Simple Bible Daily Verse AlarmThis is the best Bible app I have ever used! I always have trouble remembering to read my Bible, and when I do remember, I never know what to read. This Bible app sends me reminders in the morning, afternoon, and evening at the times I chose. This app also has a calming color scheme, and and plays calming music, which can be stopped by clicking the mute button. You can also see your progress compared to others' in the leaderboard. All things considered, the best Bible app I have ever used!
Love Love Love the app, easy and quick to use. Just a couple issues, wish the music wasn't so loud since it can't be controlled by volume switch (never had an app that volume couldn't be adjusted). Some verses go over my head so wish there was an option to use ASV/ERV. Also don't quite understand or know how to answer the question "who are you"...
The app itself is wonderful. However, the ads are the most irritating thing 😕 that cause me to almost lose focus on my meditation and fully enjoying the app. They are extremely too long and you can't click them away. CC I'll try to continue perhaps to the end of the month. Otherwise, I'll search for something with fewer ads. I truly want to keep my commitment .
This app is an engaging way to connect and walk through your spiritual journey each day. I love the reminders and even the points are fun, however, it does not always track progress accurately. Recently it also quit allowing me to fill in what I am thankful for and forces me to select the ones that are already available which don't always align with my thoughts.
Great app! absolutely love it so far. My only wish is they have a daily verse screen widget for the app. It really helps when I open my phone to see a big verse there that relates to me as God is reaching out and talking with me this morning. Notifications are great but they get lost amongst the slue of other notifactions and I usually end up missing the daily verse due to my busy life. Other than that I really can't complain. Definitely helps you dive deep. Kind of has a duolingo feel to it too
Nice concept, visually interesting, very calming colors. Yet, I wish we could tap our journal entries under Devotions and read the prayers that came along with them. If I knew they disappeared, I would've screenshotted the ones that I started with.. So far, that's the only reason for the 4 stars. Also, wish there were more ways to earn hearts. I'm glad there's no payment options, the app seems more sincere in that regard. But in the same breath, I'm tired of social media sharing lol.
I am at the point of uninstalling the app. The fact that you lose your streaks is definitely very annoying! However, I'm not using the app for any type of competition so I let that go. Now I'm getting the same EXACT prayers morning & evening!!! It's been going on for about 4 days. Also, the afternoon quotes repeat all the time. These should not be hard fixes. They don't seem to respond to any of the feedback they're getting. Don't think they really care about the app or their users.
I really like having reminders. The alarm is set for what works with my schedule, and the bell chime is distinct. 1. I am not tech savvy, so I may be missing something but a settings option to turn off the vibration would be nice. 2. being able to update or delete options previously used on the what are you grateful for. I am currently unable to delete any and cannot add any.
This is a very good and inspirational app! It has where you can listen and read the Bible, where you can get different verses for the day, devotions, prayers, etc. I would have given it five stars, but it doesn't always keep good track of what I do. For instincts, I have completed the morning verse, devotion and prayer and it shows it at first. I then do the afternoon prayer and then it goes back to the morning prayer telling me that I need to complete it. Otherwise, it's an excellent app!
It's great to get you into the word. It's frustrating if you actually commit to it. The app will say you didn't follow through even if you have checked it 3x before you closed it. That happend a few times. Some other annoyances are the fact you can't see the text box or edit what you're typing on certain screens. Lastly, it will come on & stay on with the screen lit, which will torch your battery if you're working & can't get to it immediately...
I have been using this app for 3 days now, I love the reminder and the scripture sharing. I wish there were no ads, or a way to purchase the app so I don't see the ads. 5/21/25 well, I have been using the up every day, but it says I skipped 2 days, which is not correct, can someone help correct that? ok, 2nd review. I love the reminder, but I notice that it sure doesn't keep track correctly. I wish there was a way to turn the strikes days off, I just want to read and be at peace.
This app was helpful with my journey to grow closer to God. I just dont like that you can't change the alarm sound and that because it's an alarm, it doesn't close, it keeps your phone on until you go through the verse or click the x. They put ads at the bottom of the alarm screen so when I look at my phone thats been in my pocket, a random website was openned because the ad was clicked. They have only 1 bible version as well. I will be deleting because of the ad issue.
Great idea, but a mediocre execution. The daily streak feature adds an incentive to use the app three times daily. However, there have been more than one occasion that my streak counter reset even I'm sure I completed all three app interactions in the day. Once this happens it is frustrating and makes me want to find another app. Also the ads can be annoying.
Great app. But be careful when you have to transfer to a new phone. I Lost all my progress of 10 days and had to start over. 😪 Also, if you complete the day before your set alarm for evening, you will lose your progress and have to redo it. This has happened 3 days in a row. 😣THEY NEED TO FIX THAT. If I didn't check it then I would have lost my streak like I did in July even though every day was completed. (All in all - a great app, just need to fix those and then I will give 5 stars.)
I've been using this for a few weeks. I like the reminders and how it can incorporate some of my thoughts into prayers. What I don't like are the ads. The ads ruin my devotion, last too long, and glitch my progress. I've walked away and come back to the same darn ad. If I exit, the app doesn't think I did the next step. Somehow this needs to be fixed.
I love this app. there were a lot of adds when it was updated that made me want to stop using it. That has gotten better. yet there seems to always be some kind of glitch. Sometimes, it does not record an interaction and ruins the streak. I stopped caring about that. Now, it has generated the same prayer morning and night for the past 4 days. It is much better when the prayer correlates to what I journal.
I have really enjoyed using this app. I already feel closer to God. I'm still figuring out how to use it correctly, I just figured out the feelings button moves side to side with many more feelings listed. There's no listing for physical pain. I was surprised there wasn't. I wish it could be added. I also just figured out you can listen to the Bible! I also love the prayers they make for you. I have had trouble expressing myself in prayer my whole life.
The one thing I can't stand about this app is once the reminder goes off, it will light up your phone, whether it's locked or not, and keep the screen turned on. My phone will not go to sleep when the notification hits. If I miss a reminder, it will remind me again in the middle of the night, and just light up my room and not turn off. That's bad programming. And everyone else who's had issues losing their streaks, I absolutely agree. It's absolutely frustrating. Again, bad app programming.
When I first downloaded the app I immediately fell in love. It was easy to use and easy to digest (scriptures made plain). I loved the fact we could earn points and streaks daily while moving up to different tier groups. However I am not a fan of the new update (community) because it just feels like Facebook except it's almost forcing you to interact with people. I came to the app for God's word - not another social media outlet.
