Reviews for Simple Gallery Pro

← Back to Simple Gallery Pro

Simple Gallery is a full-featured, non-intrusive photo gallery that does its job well. It doesn't want access to my contacts or my microphone or anything ridiculous like that. When I upgraded to the Pro version, it was free, as were all of the Simple X Pro apps (for a limited time). This developer deserves to get paid, though, so I'm waiting until they go OFF sale to install them. They're that good. I mean it's ninety nine cents, people.

Hands down, the BEST gallery app for android, at least among a dozen or so paid gallery apps that I have tried. Don't let its simplicity fool you: it is both powerful and efficient. Navigating between different subdirectories (albums), renaming, moving, and other file operations are a breeze using the simple, user-friendly interface. It doesn't access your photos on line, but that can be done by the file manager which I use for my other files. Highly recommended.

Great app, easy to use, good interface. It's easy to connect w/ other apps for photo editing. I wish that the built-in photo editor was better (e.g. you can only do one action at a time - if you crop a photo & want to edit more, you have to save & go back to do other edits). Simple adjustment options, like contrast, light, color saturation, etc. would be useful too. I use Toolwiz mostly, but sometimes I need quick simple editing options. I've had trouble w gifs, but it isn't a deal-breaker.

Bought the Pro app and I cannot edit videos with it. I would be able to edit videos in the free version, but after installing the pro version, the free version no long syncs images or videos. I purchased the pro version hoping to access more features; instead, I find myself facing more barriers to the services you provide. Please help! Edit: You are absolutely right, it was another app! I'm looking forward to a video editing feature. Thank you for such a timely response.

Came to Simple Gallery after QuickPic sold its soul to Cheetah Mobile and turned into crapware. This is a developer who cares about quality, simplicity, and apps with a small footprint on storage and memory. Completely intuitive, wildly customizable, The only problem I've found is that if you have Gallery open when taking pictures or screenshots, the new images don't always show up smoothly. The inverse is true with deletions sometimes. Other than that, my only wish is that the editor had more annotation tools: circles, boxes, arrows, and the like. (Also, it's not clear that there are more tools in the editor that you have to scroll right to see,) Otherwise, everything I've wanted or needed that I wasn't sure the app had, I found in the settings when I looked. GREAT app.

This is simply the best gallery app I've been able to find. But to be fair, I've only tried about 20-30. :-) Most of the UI is pretty straightforward, but some things are obscure or not obvious. For example, did you know you can choose "Folder Cover?" Long press a folder, then pick a photo on that folder to represent the folder - useful with folders that have a lot of pics constantly changing! And I love that I can create shortcuts to folders, so I don't have to keep going through all the hierarchy to see those pics! Well done devs! Keep it up!

I fell in love with the app to the point were I bought the pro version. However for a while I've been getting quite annoyed at some things. For instance, I feel that at the moment whenever you want to crop a picture, out takes more steps than it used to. One more thing that I despise is whenever you pause a video and click play. It doesn't play from where you paused but takes you back a couple of seconds.

PHENOMENAL app. I've always hated the default Android photo app- it put folders I didn't care about at the top, didn't let me organize anything...just generally made it unnecessarily hard to find the photos I was looking for. Simple Gallery let's me rename folders and photos, which is SUPER USEFUL cuz it ALSO lets me switch between sorting by "date taken" and "alphabetical," AMD HAS A SEARCH BAR. I can rename my photos with keywords, and search those words later. I couldn't ask for more, tbh.

Not perfect, but excellent I'm not sure a perfect image gallery app could exist. This app, though, was my choice out of about five I identified & evaluated to manage my mobile device archive of maybe 5000 images. It's both easy to use and sophisticated enough to satisfy people who want that. Pleasant-looking, economical, and no noticeable bugs over the past few years. If you want to replace your OEM gallery app, or like me, your phone didn't come with one, go for Simple Gallery.

Excellent! Doesnt have the Chinese spying and advertising "features" as QuickPic, and is significantly more configurable. My primary complaint, and it's just a minor annoyance, is that the app doesn't remember the last folder you copied/moved an image to for the next copy/move operation, so you have to select the folder every time you move one, or a batch of, files. Minor flaw in an otherwise excellent app. Keep up the good work!

"WARNING! UPGRADING TO THE PRO VERSION WILL UNMARK YOUR FAVORITES!" This is what should be mentioned before I upgraded, or anyone else to say the least. It's a great photo album app, but I have thousands of photos that I have to now go through and re-favorite. Some of the photos were very important to my LLC, which puts a lot more stress on my shoulders. For $1.19, I don't regret purchasing the pro version.

I am using the OnePlus 6T and the reason why I'm not using their stock Gallery app is because it doesn't offer a grid view of your albums. I rated this app a 4 star because it's lacking two very important things, especially for it being the paid version. 1) No backup feature. This would be nice to be able to backup pictures in your gallery. 2) I don't like having the recycle bin show up in my gallery so I have it hidden. However, with that, there's no option to access deleted pictures in the Settings therefore I cannot restore any if needed.

easy to use. quickly allows you to view and organize your media with move and delete features. I especially like how you can change the sort for individual folders without changing the defaults. Update: they added a pro version and locked the free version after a trial period. Forcing someone to upgrade is not the way to do business. If your pro version is so much better, people will want to use it. I've never had to update the free app and I've had it for 4 years. I'll just use the galaxy one.

That app is nice. The fact that they took the free version and removed it randomly forcing you to either buy the Pro version or essentially you can't use the app and need to change apps is very shady business practice. Since I already had it, switching over would be annoying. I might just need to take the time to find another app. If you're new, don't bother downloading. They force unwanted changes, constantly sent "purchase" messages, and are terrible in business practices. Get another app!!!

This used to be the best photo management app for Android. It was so good I bought the pro version. Now it's terrible. When launching the app the photos take forever to load. Sort by no longer works properly. I categorize all my photos by folders but it no longer respects that. Instead, it mixes all the photos up. The include and exclude folders features no longer works. It's almost impossible to find the photo you want. The developer took something that was perfectly good and messed it up.

Suggestion: if an app is working on your device to your satisfaction, maybe consider leaving it as is. Sometimes the "bug fixes" may be nothing more than changimg a feature(s) from free, to an annual "subscription" fee requirement, for continued use on that device. Operating systems change, apps change, but not always in the best interest of us, the customer. Maybe think twice before "updating" or "upgrading" .

Nice Gallery! A reason it's short one star, it used another third-party gallery editor app. It's become easier just to use my other gallery editor app, they both have the same options, except having its own editor abilities. My other app spells out its functions (ie "editor, copy, move") in a drop-down menu, instead of symbols at bottom that are hard for me to decipher what they mean. Other than that, it's a really nice gallery, as are all this author's apps!

Easily the best photo collection app I've ever used. Simple. Straight. To-the-point. I first downloaded it during the free period, so when they made the change to charge like a dollar-something, I was pretty pissed off and looked around for alternatives. Turned out, EVERY OTHER GODDAMN PHOTO APP was a total, utter disaster and had to have been designed by people with brain damage. This one is the only picture app I've seen where the developers put genuine thought and consideration into. A+++

Loved the app for years but... Edit: O nce again, I replaced my phone after it was lost the other day. It shows, that I don't have the pro version (which I've purchased multiple times now). Please restore my purchase credentials so I can get the app and log in to my photos. I have many family pictures that are in hidden folders that I can't access now

Removing another star because it just keeps getting glitchier for me, and they seem to have stopped updating it. The problems might be mostly from having tens of thousands of photos on my not-so-powerful phone, but that's my situation. Overall a good replacement for your phone's built-in gallery app that does everything you want it to, plus more. Easily worth the tiny price for the pro upgrade, though the old free version mostly worked fine too.
