I play the correct keys but it just won't register. It doesn't teach when you play the keys. At the end start or the middle of when the line comes across the quarter note? Also, at least give us ads to continue and not have to pay. Youcision is way better with it allowing us to continue the lesson but you have the option to pay if you want to play without any limited time a day. Uninstalling and just sticking to playing by ear. Which is honestly a lot better.

When I first downloaded the app, I completed the free lesson and decided that I wanted to purchase a yearly subscription. When the app prompted that I subscribe, (in order to begin the second lesson) the app said that the yearly subscription price was $6.00. Don't get me wrong the app is great for learning to play the piano, but when I looked at the charges on my debit card, I found out that i had been charged $71.99!

I love this app! I am in my 50's and always wanted to learn to play the piano and this app has made it so I could. I have been using the app for about 3 months and can now play tons of songs. I even download sheet music from various sites and can play that. I am amazed at how much I have learned! I have been having a blast playing and look forward to becoming beter and better as I move through the courses. I did have the same issue as others with the app not recognizing some notes, but once I got the cable and connected my tablet to my keyboard that issue was solved. The app now recognizes every note and chord I play. I am surprised by the number of people that complain about paying for the premium membership. People developed this app and put a lot of work into it and continue to update it. It only make sense they should be paid for thier work. Besides, if I were to go to a piano teacher in order to learn to play the piano, or any other instrument, I would be paying 10 dollars for a half hour session. This way I can play and practice all I want for a fraction of that cost. Best deal I have ever made!

It has lots of content, both for step-by-step learning and also playing a huge variety of songs at different levels. I like how it can keep track of whether you have played the correct notes, and it's fun to be able to earn stars for playing songs. I wish it tracked time practiced, that it had tie ins to method books, that the stars had more significance and that it has a monthly billing option (currently three months is the lowest I could find). I love it as a practice aid and use it a lot!

The app has an overall good concept but it's not the best thing if you already know some parts of music. I played the violin for half of a decade, so I know how to read the treble clef. I downloaded the app so I can play the bass clef (the left hand) on the piano. I have some experience on the piano,so I know the first 5 notes ANYWAYS... those first 5 notes are the only thing that is free. That's a real let down. And the monthly fee is really pricy. After the 5 notes it was $. Waste of my time!!

I downloaded this and made it all the way to the bass note introductions. It was working fine, and I was planning on using this and the Simply Guitar app to improve my skills. As soon as we got to the first bass C note, it wouldn't recognize my piano anymore. I tried closing and reopening the app, leaving the lesson, and coming back. Nothing worked. I am now canceling the subscription I just set up due to it fundamentally not working. And yes, I am pressing the right note.

I liked the features at first. It picked up sound well and it was easy to follow, which I appreciated. I just seriously dislike that after the small first section, you have to pay for Premium to do ANYTHING else. You get to choose a song to have learned by the end of the little beginner section, but as soon as I got there, it told me I had to sign up. I understand and recognize that you need money to maintain an app, but it sucks that there isn't even a Free w/ ads option.

Slick high, pressure sales - $34+ a month. seems like it could be a decent app, but they are hiding the price until the very end and charging a premium. we signed up for a free trial and were instantly charged even though we were told it was free for 7 days. I would have paid for the app, but not with how scammy they set up the experience.

Really great and easy to use. The only reasons people give it a negative review is because they don't want to pay $45 for 3 months, which is cheaper than a piano tutor. Great for getting the essentials if you're a begginer. However, I am having a terrible time in later lessons because of sound recognition issues. Certain chords when played close together get mixed up to the app, making you go into practice mode 3 times for the same part of them session when you did not make a mistake. I would like to pay less for 3 months just because of that problem, since the frustration of those reacuring problems would make me quit for up to a week. The idea itself is great and worth the price if it ran perfectly, but the sound recognition really gets in the way of learning sheet music.

Horrible app. Do not bother. It's fine for the first week,then when everything starts getting faster, you can't keep up, and when you eventually start playing faster, it doesn't pick up the notes and gives false scores, and the app doesn't let you slow the tempo down. This doesn't apply to the songs, only to the lessons, however the lessons are the most important part. Do not waste your money.

I wanted to rate it five stars I ended up with one because all I learned are my first three notes and two maybe three songs that included those notes. in every other game, When you get to level 5, You don't have to use real money to complete. it instead you can just go and complete it without wasting any currency in the game. please give me a version that lets you Play level 5, I would really like it. When I discovered that, I got really upset and deleted the game. Please do not take long. PS.

I have had piano lessons but haven't played for over a year so I started with the basics. This program is very comprehensive. I am enjoying sitting at the piano again. However, I subscribed to a solo 3 month plan. I went through basic stuff but it wouldn't allow me to continue the the next course until I upgraded to a family plan costing me another $30. If someone pays $60 for a 3 month subscription they should have access to the full program for those 3 months.

With a midi connection and a subscription this app is really wonderful to work with. The only issue is that on the phone if I open 'play' and download sheet music, you cannot see it all on the phone and on android it is less interactive. Also, I have yet to figure out how to be able to download the sheet music straight to my surface to use as a bigger screen. Wish there was a way to use on surface as a 'tablet'

It takes over your entire phone screen at all times and not easily minimized. You have to submit your email address and get a code to start practicing *every single time*. I used it without creating a profile now it's forcing me to create a profile and I can't bypass it. There's no small x button, there's no skip button, there's no way out of it. Also, sometimes if there is noise it thinks you've hit the right key or cord and moves you along in the lesson. Their response to this is deaf.

I understand how much it is to pay and license everything, but as far as I've seen, all the ads have said free to learn. I can't even finish the first part :/ without paying 20/mo. If anyone working on the app is reading this i would recommend a 10/mo option with some ads so that you can still pay for it all, and a free version with a lit of ads, to pay for it. Ex: 20/mo, no ads. 10/mo, 1-3 ads every two songs/lessions/trys or so. Free, 2-5 ads to unlock a song and every about 3 trys 2-3 ads.

Started out great. I was really enjoying the lessons. But as I got better the app started missing correct notes and starting over lessons I had done correctly. So the app is discouraging me, which is the last thing I need. I tried MIDI connection, but it still missed notes I was playing. Really really disappointed. Unsubscribing.

Now THIS is a great app for learning piano!! I took piano lessons as a kid, old school: Learning scales, etudes, arpeggios and classical pieces that made me want to tear my hair out. Yet after all that time I still had not learned chords. With Simply Piano learning chords is awesome! It's seamless to integrate them into a song and to get the positive reinforcement of all the instruments behind you, when you play a full song using the app. Learned more in weeks than in years as a kid!!

You have to pass their course to even search the song library. My wanted to jump in and find Fur Elise, and something so common is not even in the song database. Lots of pop songs and just type of stuff to impress your friends. For true classical beginners or starters there isnt much for music. I see it being a great app if some tweaks were made and the song library expanded.

The price is ridiculous. Pay a piano teacher to help you reach your goals. This isn't it. Used the free trial to brush up on my music reading since it's been about 15 years since I played a piano. Wow, this is bad. I have a good keyboard with the mic right next to the speaker and the app doesn't always register notes or will register notes I didn't play. Once I dredged through basics enough to unlock sheet music for songs I get... a single line of a song. Play along feature is a joke.

I was having a pretty good time with the app till it hit me with that subscription and the free trial us only a week. I feel like there should be a free version without extra songs or choice but just a learning way. Plus a 120 dollars a year for a piano app is insane and they even have a 20 dollar a month option. The cash grabbing is insane.
