Reviews for Sketchbook

Although generally a good art app, it has one fatal flaw: Often times when opening the app, whatever you were last working on will be deleted and replaced with the drawing or painting before it in your gallery. This has caused no small amount of frustration and distress. If it had not been for this glitch which has plagued me on past devices as well, I would have given AT LEAST 4/5 stars. EDIT: After considering that the app is free, I've decided to add another star. Was 2/5

I've used this app since I was about 13 (23 now) and it's really intuitive for me, and the pro version isn't some subscription! It's a one time purchase, has been since I got it when I was 13. The desktop one is a one time $20 too. I'm not the most tech savvy, so idk what making and editing brushes is really like, but I really like this app, and the pro is definitely worth the couple bucks.

this app is one that I've spent countless hours on, the only one I can find on the appstore that I can actually use as it has the best tools and gadgets so I can make money easily from this art. However suddenly everytime I close my page to go to the gallery it crashes. my phone has plenty of space, I've deleted and redownloaded it, so I dont know what my problem may be. If any staff have any responses it would be appreciated and I could continue to use this app. but as is, it is unusable to me.

Actually 3.5. The app is great. There are a bunch of brushes, markers, and pencils to choose from. I've yet to be limited in layers. RGB and HSL are available for colors. You can create up to 50 color pallettes. You can be as detailed as you want. Downside: You cannot import any of their free brushes or color palettes. What it comes with is what you're stuck with. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be limiting. Overall, I would clearly recommend this app for those on Android.

Love this app. I've been able to improve my digital illustration skills. Lots of brush options. I do wish there was a way to favorite brushes as I'm usually using more than 2 at a time. I also wish there was a place to save my current color palette so all of the colors I use are readily available. Having to eye drop colors or save my colors on the artboard itself can be bothersome as I don't always copy the exact color I need. Or even add an option to use color codes. Overall great app!

it's great, there's literally no ads at all, which is amazing. however, there is a glitch where if you're coloring, it will randomly start trying to layer each brush stroke. it doesn't happen often, but whenever it does happen, it's always on an important artwork. oh, and when you save an artwork, it'll also save the file in your gallery, but when you delete the file from the gallery, you can't edit the drawing anymore. other than those things, it's a great app for beginners.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this app is honestly awesome. For one, it's free, and two, there are so many things to choose from! There are no restrictions on layers or tools, like many apps have. Not to mention how you can organize your gallery. The only thing is that recently my device has not been saving the gallery. I can create a drawing, go back to that drawing here and there, but if I create a new drawing, I'm not allowed to edit my past works? This just started a while ago.

A brilliant art application, especially on Android, I use it almost every single day. Works excellently on my phone and tablet. HOWEVER, layers can only be grouped in the premium version of the app. Even though it is a paid feature, the groups can't be copied from one canvas to another, only duplicated within the canvas they were originally created. I really hope they can add this soon since it is a relatively simple change that would add alot to the functionality of groups.

I do truly love this app, and I think it's very good for artists. I do wish it had an animation setting like Ibis Paint X. This app also does not get blocked by Bark. I love all the different settings, and I think it works well and is easy to use once you get the hang of it. However, I do have a problem with the way that it saves a blank file before the art it just takes space on your phone. There are also no ads, just peaceful drawing! ✏️

I really like this app bc a lot of other drawing apps are really confusing to me, but this one is easy to use. It's really good for edits and just random drawings. My only issue is that whenever I save a drawing, there are two blank images next to it in the gallery, and whenever I delete them, I can't edit the drawing anymore, so if you fixed that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Works well as an art app, but Gallery UI is terrible. (as far as I have found) You can only organize into basic albums - so only a single layer of organization. I have a few thing I want to organize into certain albums, but some of them aren't highlighting to be moved (so can't be moved within the album or to other albums). The instructions found online don't always work. Organizing albums is also obnoxious. I can go into more detail. but this review gets cut short. UI and UX are why only 3stars

good app. better than most built in editing software on mobile devices. but my god is it confusing to use. especially the drawing aspect of the app. once you fumble your way around into creating a sketch where you can draw over a photograph, you're left alone to figure out the absolute nightmare of a pen system. 10% of the time it works 90% dragging around the screen doesn't draw anything

I used this app a few years ago. It was the first drawing app I used, actually! At first it was great. Easy to use for beginners and organized, but one day my gallery developed a weird bug. If I tried to edit or even scroll past a certain artwork in my gallery, the app would crash. This meant I couldn't access any artwork that I made before the one that was bugged or the bugged artwork itself. All of my new artworks became bugged too. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't work.

This is a great app for art, I highly recommend. The UI is amazing, very user friendly and intuitive for the most part. Also has pressure sensitivity for those with phones that come with pens. They keep adding great new tools as well, but only for premium owners. Its a one-time only purchase, and I have never regretted buying it, in fact I probably should have paid for the full version sooner. All in all an amazing tool for art, and I cannot recommend it enough.

It has good tools but its sketch selection is awful. It stores sketches outside the app. When I start a new sketch and then need ro come back to a previous one, it is almost impossible to find. The number of times I've cried thinking I lost a two-week-in-progress sketch ... Fix it please, create a place inside the app we can easy go to select the projects.

PLEASE PEOPLE BE SLEEPING ON THIS (especially since it's free) the amount of freedom and how simple it is to work with if you just explore a little with things is insane. if there was an animation software for free I would definitely try it out. The things I adore: -the versatility when editing what a brush looks like -predictive stroke -layer settings

I used this app for years. I've done all of my artwork on this app and have them saved in a folder on my phone. Recently I had to delete the app for a bit, not even for a week. When I reinstalled it and opened the app, after attempting to choose the artwork folder, it immediately crashes. I've tried multiple times, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing space, clearing the cache. Not a thing worked. I'm getting ready for an art show and I need this to finish an art piece. Please fix this!! 🙏

this has become my primary drawing app over the last few years, and the frequent updates make it even better. got the premium version as soon as it was added, since the price was super worth it. there are little things I'd love added or fixed, like the nudge transform arrows centering on the picture, not the screen, making me have to zoom out, and a tool/mode for pixel art would be nice (a grid, no spill over into neighboring pixels)

Interface is great, easy to use and does what you want for the most part. my issue is if you dont open a drawing for a long enough period of time, then next time you try to open it youll get a TIFF error saying its unable to locate the drawing and you cant open it.. really sucks to randomly lose a hundred + hours of work..

I LOVE this sketching app, I've been using it for the last 8 years. I have tried numerous drawing apps, and this is the best one I have used. I would recommend this app to any technology Drawing peoples. However, my only complaint is I can't save my art to the app as well as photos so that when I transfer devices, I lose everything that was on the old device. I wish there was a sign in option of sorts.
