So here's my honest take on Skool. I've tried a bunch of community platforms and learning apps, and this one's actually found a sweet spot between the two. The thing I really like is how it keeps everything in one place - no more switching between Zoom, Facebook groups, and course platforms.

But real talk - it's not gonna replace something like Udemy if you're just looking for courses, or Discord if you just want chat. It's more for people who want that community vibe while they're learning. The interface isn't anything fancy, but it works. And yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming when you first join, especially if you're in active communities. Takes some time to figure out how to manage those notifications just right.

Pros

  • Everything's in one place - no app jumping needed
  • Community features actually feel pretty natural and engaging
  • Push notifications keep you in the loop (once you tweak them)
  • Works really well for group learning and discussions

Cons

  • App feels kinda sluggish sometimes
  • Notification settings are a pain to get right
  • Interface could use some work - not super intuitive at first
  • Can get pretty overwhelming if you're in multiple active communities

Description

Been using Skool for about 3 months now, and it’s basically like a social network mixed with an online course platform. Think Facebook groups but way more focused on learning stuff together. Pretty neat if you’re into community-based learning or taking courses with other people.

The main thing you’ll spend time on is the community feed where everyone shares posts and comments. There’s also this course section where you can watch video lessons and work through text content. And they’ve got this built-in calendar that keeps track of all the community events – super helpful when you’re in multiple groups. The chat feature’s pretty basic but gets the job done for DM’ing people.

Look, if you’re someone who learns better with others or you’re already part of an online community, you’ll probably dig this. It’s not perfect – the app can be a bit slow sometimes and the notifications are kinda overwhelming at first. But honestly? It’s a pretty solid way to stay connected with your learning groups without having to jump between different apps all day.

One thing is that, I wish to have a name and a nickname section. And I want to change my name so please let the option be available.
