Been using SkyView® Explore the Universe for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you point your phone at the sky and it’ll identify all the stars, planets, and constellations you’re looking at. Pretty solid app if you’re into astronomy or just stargazing for fun.
Here’s what you do: you just open the app, hold your phone up, and it uses your camera and GPS to figure out exactly what you’re looking at. And there’s also a night mode that preserves your night vision, which is pretty cool. And you can use it to track satellites passing overhead, like the ISS and Hubble – that’s a neat feature.
Look, if you’re into space and learning about the night sky, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
