Description
I’ve been using SkyView® Lite for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that uses your phone’s camera to show you what’s in the sky – you can point it up and it’ll identify stars, constellations, planets, even satellites passing overhead. Pretty cool, right?
There’s a bunch of cool features – you can find popular constellations, track the planets in our solar system, and even see if the International Space Station is flying by. And it’s got this night mode that keeps your night vision so you can stargaze without ruining your eyes. Took me a while to figure that out but it’s super useful.
Look, if you’re into space and stargazing, you’ll probably love this app. It’s not perfect – the free version has some ads that can get annoying – but overall it does the job really well. Worth checking out if you want to get more into astronomy.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on SkyView® Lite. I've tried a bunch of stargazing apps and this is one of the better ones. The augmented reality features are super cool and it's really impressive how accurately it can identify stuff in the night sky. The night mode is clutch too. My only real complaint is the free version has more ads than I'd like, but you can pay to remove them. Overall though, it's a pretty solid app that makes stargazing a lot more beginner-friendly.
