So here's my take on SmartRent. I've tested a bunch of home automation apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The features are solid and it's super convenient to manage everything from my phone. The thermostat scheduling is a game-changer for saving on energy bills. But I do find the app can be a little clunky at times, and the setup process took me a while to figure out. Overall though, it's a pretty reliable option if you want a one-stop shop for your smart home.

Description

Been using the SmartRent app for a couple months now. It’s basically a app that lets you control all the smart home stuff in your place – lock the doors, adjust the thermostat, get alerts for leaks, and more. Pretty solid app if you’re into home automation and all that.

Here’s what you can do: You can lock or unlock your doors remotely, which is super handy. There’s also custom schedules for your thermostat to save energy, and you can give guests temporary access codes. And the leak detection feature – that’s a lifesaver, it’ll alert you right away if there’s an issue.

Look, if you’ve got a bunch of smart home gadgets, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI could be a bit more intuitive – but overall it does a great job of putting all that control in your hands. Worth checking out if you’re into this kind of thing.

Seeing how this is the only way to enter my home and the app won't open, it sucks. Sometimes the app (when it was working) would say lights were on...
