Giving this app 5 Stars because it does what Google has failed to do for years on end when attempting to transfer phone data between Android phones when replacing devices. I subscribe and pay for Google 1 and yet each time I swap devices, Android 1 fails to transfer my SMS & MMS data no matter how many times I have tried. The Google device switch app is useless and Google should speak with Apple on how to build an app for seamless transfer of user data from one phone to another.

People don't realize just how many text messages their phones store up on a daily basis. I was shocked when I saw I had 25,000 text messages. I love this app. I've been able to backup my new text messages and phone calls once a week for 4 years now, at the end of the month I do a complete backup. All backups are stored in the cloud. I'll go through and delete old backups every 6 months. I may never go back and restore anything, but it's reassuring to know that I can if I need to.

Great app to transfer text from my old phone to my new one. Everything transfers as is (texts/photos/videos).

this app actually copied and transfers my texts correctly, unlike Google which I lose the Media or texts that are old. the pro version is way better it's a must.

I appreciate this app for its ability to back up messages and calls, then upload them to the cloud. However, I suggest an improvement: instead of backing up everything anew each time, the app could simply append new data to the previous week's backup before uploading. This would be more efficient in terms of time and energy. Additionally, I'm encountering an issue with locating my local backups, as the app seems to be in a continuous loading state, making it challenging to delete these backups.

Slow upload speed, uploads vary between 16Mb and 30Mb per second on a 100Mb upload connection. Otherwise it would get a 5 star rating.

Works great. I'm paying for pro, even though I don't want or need it as a donation to support your work. Thank you! It took a bit of playing to get it correct. Google wasn't restoring all my picture messages correctly and was importing some of them as blank files. SMSB&R would see these blanks and skip over, so they didn't get restored. If I told SMSB&R to ignore dupes then it would double things. The solution was to erase all messages in Google and SMSB&R (not backups) and do a fresh restore.

Been a FREE user for a short while & I liked the app so much I purchased the PRO version to support the author & further development. We must support the GREAT APP developers as they provide the flexibility of our Androids & keep them #1. Excellent for automated backups! This is the only app that I have found that lets you delete old messages from your log. Well worth my money! I asked for this feature and submitted a 4 star review. They saw it, understood why it's needed, then messaged me to say it's now in the app. Awesome!!

Can't open the xml file usefully on computer. Word shows lists of sms but nothing clickable, no text. Not Edge, NotePad, Office XML Handler, nor XML Editor. Can only open the xml on the phone, but it doesn't show photos. I checked "Attachments & Media" is on. But no attachments show when opening the xml. ok, I see the attachments, but they only open full screen. not useful. Need thumbnail inline with the texts. No one ever mentioned this? Will update if I am able to see thumbnails inline.

While this app is a lifesaver, a progress bar would be great. The "restoring" bar just kind of slides along in a loop, with no feedback that it's getting anything done. Otherwise, I consider this app a basic requirement for every android device. Edit: nevermind. The progress bar works properly if there wasn't a hiccup during the process.

This app makes switching from iPhone to Android a breeze! I have 120,000 messages and a backup size of 13gb. I'm so happy to be able to keep a backup everywhere. The only reason for 1 star deduction is the scheduled backup can only go as infrequent as 1 week. I'm on metered connection (both mobile and wifi), I don't want to do a 13gb upload every week.

This worked great for a few months, until it stopped working. It always fails to back up now. I've tried to change settings, times of back up, etc, and I DON'T want to redo the initial backup by manually backing up, which takes hours to do, and that a total backup copies everything already backed up. I wish it just emailed me the backup log. That would be way easier. NOT worth what I paid for it. I sent the logs.

Does what it says, nothing more, nothing less. No bloat, no intrusive ads (even the free version has minimal ads). However there is one thing I would like it to do before I can give it 5 stars: the ability to backup over a LAN to a NAS, such as a QNAP NAS. I might be able to use QFile to backup the local folder, but it would be nice to just do it automatically from within the SMS backup app.

I rarely post reviews good or bad. However, when I find something that is quick, easy and does exactly what it says, I can't keep it to myself. Fortunately, I haven't had top use it to restore anything. The best feature for me is being able to print part or all of any conversation - from my phone or computer! Great way to archive text conversations with clients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app!

I can finally give this little helper the stars it deserves. I always set the Export to print and Include media (they show an incl emoji option, I don't have that function on my Samsung tablet nor Ultra 23+ cell) but all it collected was TEXT. Finally I gave the html button a try. Voila all the images were pulled but it took 40 minutes to find pdfsimpli to convert the file to pdf. No browser printer nor viewer on my devices could do it. Wish Developers bothered to write decent instructions.

Have used the free version of this in the past when moving to new phones and it has always worked great. Recently ran into an issue migrating to a new phone with android 14 and I reached out to support. They corrected the issue quickly with an update and let me know when it was available to download. More than happy to pick up the pro version and would recommend this to anyone.

Thought this would be a seamless way to transfer text messages from one Android phone to another. Turns out it took multiple tries to restore on the new phone after the first attempt didn't work. It eventually restored most (not all) of the messages but with large missing gaps in many threads. It did NOT transfer any of the last 1+ years of associated photos even though that box was checked. Very, very disappointed. Emailed tech support but got no response. Would not at all recommend this app.

This app works great, but recently it gets stuck a lot of times when uploading to Google Drive. I have a huge amount of texts to backup, so I don't know if that's the issue, but it gets stuck a lot of times recently. I am going to try using another account like One Drive and see if that works better. I frequently have to restart my phone to get the app to finish uploading my backup, though. And it's using a lot of battery from getting hung up. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

I have used this countless times. When ever I get a new phone, I always copy over my text history (including photos). I find other options do a poor job of bringing over photos, especially with the right time stamps. I run it overnight, and it goes smoothly as long as I make sure I have enough free space in my google drive! Love that this is still working so well.
