Neat idea, but lags so bad! Adjusting the vocals to match the tempo of the music is a huge pain and doesnt work as it should. Sometimes the pacing between the song and the moving graphic is off and it's extremely distracting. Dont worry though, even if you sing right in tune and tempo with the music, you'll still be recorded 2 seconds late, causing you to fuss with settings for 10 minutes before giving up altogether. Ugh.

My experience in the past with this app was so desirable. I love being able to retry a challenging part in a song without having to start over. But this new update sucks. I also liked hearing myself sing while I'm recording like in past versions of the app. Now it just sucks... also what happened to the option where you could change how loud the backing vocals are? If there's an option to hear yourself while you sing I think that would be cool. Also to save your progress.

The VIP pricing is ridiculous. I used to have a smule subscription that cost $4.99 a month. now, its $9.99 for a week...A WEEK!!! That's more expensive than a monthly subscriptuon to most steaming services! A monthly subscription? $19.99 more than a premium monthly Netflix subscription. Yes, you can do it for free if you do duets and things, but paying that much for a karaoke app that isn't even karaoke! Half the songs still have vocals over top! It's ridiculous.

Nice app, but can you please, please PLEASE find a way to sync the sounds and videos better?! It's so annoying to have to continuously repeat a song because the vocals won't sync, especially if it was done with video. Come on! Edit - it's free to join someone else's duet, but you can't post it unless you pay. What sense does that make? Please do better.

I love this app. I've made some great memories. 2+ years now. But the last dozen times I've tried to start a don't others can join, the timing on the recording always either speed up or slows down near the end of the recording. And manually changing the timing doesn't help at all. Please fix. This is the main reason I haven't used the app much, of late.

I thought I would do something fun with a friend, so I signed up for what I thought was a free trial. Anyhow, I got busy and didn't notice that this app was quietly billing me $7.99 PER WEEK (!) for an app I might pay $3 a year for. I finally noticed in my bank statement when money was being siphoned off and found it was this app. They took me for $112 dollars and I never even used it more than once. Please be careful!

Completely terrible! Can't believe an expensive app like this even exists on the app store!! Google should totally either force them to reduce their prices by AT LEAST half, OR shut them down completely with the price gouging. I'm telling you all: you'll make a lot more money if you just cut down the prices! A lot more people will pay instead of having the select few pay a whole bunch of money. For someone who's been on Smule for years, you would think they'd at least have the decency to let members know they were going to jack up the prices. And maybe a reason. They canceled my subscription, refunded my money for last month, and with no explanation, no email, no nothing. This is so upsetting because what exactly are you getting with that price hike? It saddens me to have to delete the app because this was something I enjoyed weekly and a lot of times daily.

Unless you pay for the subscription, you can't record solo.. which was disappointing. The voice back to headphone setting didn't work for me, and in the "help" option it tells you how to delete your account in settings, but the option to delete was no where to be found. Was a disappointment:( because the suggested music was accurate and the vocal settings were cool.

Most things cost money, all yoy can do is join another singer, hoping that they're good. Timing is way off, the audio of my singing is played at a different pace and time than when I actually sang. This audio delay made me sound like I missed the que and started singing a few beats late. Overall, difficult to use and expensive, with too many ads (most for this very app, but paying even more.)
