I love the way it tracks my earnings and shows what I am making per hour avg. Also like the leader board. But wish it was by area rather the the whole country. The more I use the app the more I like it. I would like it and use it even with out the pay guarantee feature although that was what brought it to my attention. I had the opportunely to meet and talk with one of the developers and he opened my eyes to several futures that I had failed to find on my own, so if your using the app, explore, explore as there is a lot more to it then meets the eye at first
Reviews for Solo: Your Gig Business App
← Back to Solo: Your Gig Business AppI would like to give it more, but it seems quite pointless. You need to subscribe to the app and pay them a monthly fee to get guarantees on your earnings, which might be worth it if the guarantees weren't so bare minimum and it wasn't so expensive to buy the credits to guarantee them. I bought credits that I wasn't even able to use, because I was locked out immediately after buying them, which is very shady and almost seems like a scam.
Edit: Upgraded from 4☆ to 5☆, because the mentioned receipt feature was added.-- -- I love the app so far for all features it has, and especially the expense tracking it offers. It would be better if you could snap a picture of a receipt along with the expenses. Even if it had to be linked to Google drive or something for the storage, it would be very useful to have a digital copy of all receipts should a tax audit occur and you didn't save your paper receipts.
I paid for a 3 month subscription and was very happy with the tracking aspect of the app. What i wasnt happy about was the run around and how much effort and time it required for me to get information i had already paid for after my subscription had ended. I hope in the future solo will discover how to allow easier access to those who have paid a subscription and are no longer in need of the tracking app.
I want to like this app, but it's more than a little half-baked and some features feel down right scammy. For instance, don't waste your money on their "pay guarantee" because it's not much of a guarantee at all. I would say that their pay insights are helpful, but I have had those insights turnout to be dead wrong (added insult is that when it is dead for 80 minutes and no work is to be had, this is one of many instances where the pay garauntee conveniently does not apply to an hour block).
Great Tracker!! but Pay Guarantee is Pointless. Trust me, they wouldn't do it if they weren't making a profit. What you won't know until afterwards is that you only get the full guaranteed amount for the hour if you were literally on trips or on your way to trips the entire time. They say there's an added buffer around those trips but don't say how much it is. If you have a slow hour, they will lower (prorate) the guarantee to the amount of minutes you were on trips plus the secret buffer.
The manual trip tracking toggle switch won't stay on manual when the app is closed, and the location service is draining the battery faster, and I don't believe every user would want to be tracked 24/7 outside of work. I also find it concerning that if a user decides to revert to the free version of the app, they loose all their data that they have paid for during membership. None of the other apps I have used had problems with any of it, and hopefully, it will get fixed.
I have tried the free premium of the app. The milage didn't always track. It did sink well with Doordash, but when you do a manual gig (not on their list) you have to figure out what you made and enter it. They give you 5 free credits for the guarantee, but if you are active in the gig, don't drop any orders, but don't get one from the gig they will not guarantee that hour so it becomes waisted. This is the main reason for three stars. Having to figure out pay for manual entries is minor.
The app doesn't work very well, it drains your phone battery, milage tracker is off 20 to 30% , your mapping for busy areas is horrible in the app (it's tiny, hard to read, and no way to easily see where you are on the map, let alone it's not accurate), the badges do not work correctly, and the app offers only generic ways to increase pay. The app VERY expensive for what it offers. The basic plan is $10 a month. App doesn't offer even $2 of value. App could be better, but still over priced.
I downloaded and signed up. Nothing really different from the other free app I already use. If I want to use the features that are mentioned in the ad for this app, they are stuck behind a pay wall. Not mentioned in the ad at all. Bait and switch as always. Ridiculous. I have uninstalled, useless. Edit: got a response expressing that it is subscription based. That is fine. That doesn't bother as much. My problem is that the ad says nothing about that. So they reel you in with false promise
It has 7 free trial to be able use all the tools. I wish it didn't required membership plans. Also, the app doesn't feel very helpful for income information and when using Doordash - Dasher and other independent jobs/gigs. I'm just gonna keep looking for another better app and that is completely 100% free to use without a membership plans and free trials.
meh.. It has potential but It doesn't do anything I couldn't easily do on my own and it actually restricts me in many ways when it comes to tracking. I can't go back and edit mileage that I manually put in for example. The guaranteed pay is always less than what you will make so there's no point in wasting your money on tokens for it. Overall the app is simply not worth it for how much they charge you. It's a great idea just poorly executed. Maybe I'll make my own app.
Sadly, this app sucked. Waste of time. After the 7 day free trial, you have to pay money to use it. During the 7 day free trial, it didn't do much for me other than tell me how much I COULD MAYBE make per hour & info on taxes, expenses, etc. It promised to pay $25.46 if I didn't make the amount of money shown per HR, and I only got one ride, per hr & didn't make the amount shown & the app never paid me anything. It didn't do anything for me honestly. It was kinda pointless using this app.
False advertisement. they make you pay to use it, its almost impossible to cancel your subscription after the free trial and it doesn't actually do anything useful. it just takes up space on your phone and drains your battery to the point on no return. every single bit of info tracked or kept by this app is the exact same stuff you can get thru the Uber, dasher or w.e app you already use for deliveries. and they clearly cant handle this based on the replies to other reviews they're so "busy"
The advertising for this is very misleading. Not until after you fill out the entire sign-up process are you informed that it is a paid service. It's false advertising and a deceptive intake. Beyond that, if you've set up an account but haven't paid for the subscription you can't access your profile and full settings, so you can't delete your account. You can charge for a service, but you have to disclose this in advertising and before account sign-up. Very shady and incredibly disappointing.
This app is very misleading. It will not connect to instacart. I had to put in my phone number several times, and it kept disconnecting it from instacart. It is connected to DoorDash fine and remains there until I try to use the app when I use the app. It disconnected. Highly not recommended. It's a gimmick. And then they have very high monthly rates for services. You can't even obtain.
Auto mileage tracking works, but good luck turning it off when you're not using it, You can turn on manual tracking mode, but after a short period of time, it reverts back to auto tracking. If you ride with someone else, you have to mark that trip as personal and then delete it. Also, the higher subscription tiers are a scam where you get credits to guarantee pay based on what their calculated hourly average rate is for any platform. But it's usually 50% or less of what you can actually make.
Every day I set manual tracking. Every day it defaults back to auto tracking. Every day I switch back and every day it auto tracks me anyways. Auto tracking does not effing work here. Let me use the app the way I know it works. I literally pay for it. Also it keeps security flagging my spark account. I'm removing the app. I found one that doesn't want me to organize 93 auto logged trips when I take 2 weeks off. Even though I was set to manual logging since day 1.
This app is a battery killer, eats a lot of battery even when the screen is off. the cpu usage and battery usage is very high, regardless of if you're working, or a gig app is in use. There has to be a better way to trigger monitoring rather just running all the time in the background killing the battery! maybe trigger it when a gig app is started, or at least have that as an option.
It was working well enough at the beginning, but now all of a sudden I'm unable to connect my IC account, which is the platform I use to make the majority of my earnings. Also, since the milage tracking is automatic, most times my trips get mixed together. The ads promoted the "guaranteed earnings" feature but I haven't been able to make use of it as the guaranteed amount per hour is so low that there's really no point. You'd have to be completely incompetent to need the guaranteed earnings.
