So here's my take on Sora. I've tried a bunch of different reading apps and this one's pretty solid. The built-in ebook and audiobook features work really well, and I like how easy it is to find and borrow books from my school's library. The reading experience is smooth and the extra tools like highlighting and dictionary are handy. In my experience it can get a little unstable at times, and the book selection is limited to what your school brings. But for a free app, Sora is a great option for students who want to do their reading on their mobile devices.

Description

I’ve been using Sora, by OverDrive Education for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your school’s library. Pretty solid if you’re into reading assignments and leisure books on the go.

Here’s what you do: you can search the library, borrow books with a tap, and either download them or stream them right away. There’s also a built-in reader that’s really nice – you can highlight text, take notes, and look up words. And the audiobook player works great too. Took me a while to figure out all the features but they’re all pretty useful.

Look, if you’re a student who likes to read on your phone or tablet, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of Sora. It’s not perfect – the app can get a little buggy sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if your school uses OverDrive.

An annoying social app that's preoccupied with rewards and achievements. No equivalent PC program so is discriminating against lower income people who can afford Chromebooks not iPhones for example. Limited...
