Reviews for Sound Amplifier

← Back to Sound Amplifier

It is not an all sound amplifier. Doesn't work with built-in speakers. Viper4Android is better. Trying to enable it without headphones tells me it requires headphones. Five star review requires amplifying the built-in speakers. The name isn't even right. It should be, headphone sound amplifier.

On the Samsung Galaxy S22, this app does not recognize bluetooth-connected hearing aids as being headphones.

realy works great! My phone speakers & earphones sounds even louder & clearer now! Fast, easy setup & No Ads! Thanks

it works ok but to adjust for every song is a bit much i think for Pandora or any other music services out there

completely useless!! distorts the audio even when boosting just a little. I miss my Samsung Galaxy. they have better audio.

I know this one real well and it works very well when you had the life experience that I've had. sometimes our hearing isn't so good. still works. just not as good. anyway, touch is life. it will work though

Tried this, listening to tv. using wired, open back headphones. It seems that there is just enough latency to make the headphones sound conflict with the airborne speaker sound. Result - disappointing.

I tried it again and it works now. But doesn't work to select USB mic, only phone mic. pretty nice settings to adjust and volume and noise cancelation and frequencies boosted. no ads. unfortunately no way to record the audio as well.

New review: just tried this app for the 1st time in years and discovered it now works with Bluetooth devices like hearing aids. There is a slight delay but it's great for situations like hearing someone across a table in a noisy place. Great to see Google addressed the wired headphones only limitation especially since Pixel phones don't have a headphone jack and you have to use a special USB adapter to use wired devices - and who carries all that stuff with them... This app is now useful!

Noise reduction works! (Although I have yet in an extremely noisy environment.) There is a lag in bluetooth, but that's understandable because that's a hardware limitation. It's also acceptable when you just want to hear voices from far end of the table without reading their lips. with slight distortion - acceptable, though.

PLEASE ADD AN EXTRA VOLUME CONTROL FOR GENERAL LOUDNESS & OPTION TO USE EARPHONE'S MIC To the Developer of this app. This was doing really great. I use this app as a hearing aid for my 82yo mom. It works really nice, its just that even in the Max volume (wired or wireless), the sound is still really not loud, even to me with normal hearing, i can only hear low volume sound. PLEASE ADD AN OPTION FOR EXTRA VOL TO CONTROL THE GENERAL LOUDNESS for those with impaired Hearing. PLS! PLS! PLS! 🙏😭

This app did not work with my phone and average earbuds. I couldn't even hear the person talk until the volume was up halfway on the slider. The vocal quality from my phone was terrible, too - the voice sounded very distant. In addition, there's a delay on delivery of the voice which is very disorienting when I'm looking at the person I could not judge the filtering ability because the basic sound I was trying to hear was so bad. There was also a delay between input and output - disorienting.

The amplifier de-activates itself when music, or presumably anything else (like a podcast), is playing on the device. 😕⁉️ (Huh?!). When audio is being played back to me, drowning out important and potentially critical sounds/speech around me—via earbuds that are lodged in the way of my path of hearing (my ears)—is precisely when I most need assistance in routing the important sounds from my environment to my ears. (2 rather than 1 star since I haven't needed / been able to evaluate other uses)

I have a Bluetooth Bose and the app worked on it initially and it was amazing. It brought out sounds in the Trance music That I did not know existed in the song.I was listening to amazing... Now I go back into the app to turn it on and it's looking for headphones. Wireless or wired, it will not turn on. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and it's doing the same thing. What is the problem???????

Like a temporary hearing aid for conversation. A reason to have a wired headphone. Pop on wired headphones, point the mic in the direction of what you're trying to listen to. Love that you can find tune per ear, but I think that this works best for listening to someone speaking to you rather than listen to the TV. It is a little weird to hear yourself a bit when you speak, but I think with continued updates, this has tons of potential.

If the app worked properly it would be great. You have to plug in your headphones for it to work. The only problems are it picks up amplified sounds through the headphone mic and not the phone mic. I also had a hard time adjusting the amplifier and only understood what two of the three settings did. I have hearing loss and hoped this app could benefit my life. This is a great idea and has great possibilities but it seems like it has a long way to go.

Works great! Do be mindful of the fact though, that it is a sound amplifier. I say this, because I see some comments complaining about background noise. Background noise is a sound though, and this is a sound amplifier, so guess what; background noise is also going to be amplified. If you don't like this, then either buy some headphones that will reduce background noise, or else don't download the app

When my Android Motorolas screen cuts off or I lock it. Then it makes this choppy on and off sound. Please fix. I know this app is free and no ads pop up ,but I think it's made by Google... And it won't work without headphones, witch is why it's getting low ratings, even though you can use the microphone of the phone after you hook up some type of headphones first. Please fix to where you don't need headphones also. Thank you for the wonderful app. Enjoy coding. c=

It's a great idea - although the need to have wired headphones is a flaw that they will need to fix. It'd be great if you could talk to a person and they can speak as if your phone was on a table and you didn't have to seem to lean in near your phone. Or you could get up from a fixed environment (ex: leaving the table to get a drink) while they are talking and not have to pause them. (I know latency is the issue)

Love the idea, but all of the optional settings are greyed out and Google offers no answers. It would also be nice to be able to use it over a bluetooth speaker in another room, as sort of a baby monitor, instead of only being able to use it with wired headphones. Furthermore, I would love it if it could operate while media is playing, so that I can be more aware of my surroundings on walks while listening to Google podcasts.
