So here's my honest take on Sound Meter - Decibel Meter. I've tested a bunch of noise measurement apps and this one's pretty solid. The interface is clean and easy to use, and the decibel tracking works well. I like that you can see the history and set high volume warnings. At the same time, the free version has some annoying ads that get old after a while. And the calibration feature, while useful, isn't the most intuitive. But overall, if you need a simple way to monitor noise levels, this is a pretty good option.

Description

Been using Sound Meter – Decibel Meter for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that uses your phone’s mic to measure the noise levels around you in decibels (dB). Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: you just open the app and it’ll start showing the current decibel level. There’s also a graph to see the noise history, and you can set a high decibel warning. And it’s got a bunch of other features too like calibrating the decibel for your specific device. Took me a while to figure some of that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re the kind of person who wants to measure noise levels at work, home, or out and about, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
