Description
Been using Sound Meter & Noise Detector for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you measure sound levels around you. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of stuff.
Here’s what you can do – there’s a real-time decibel meter that shows the current noise level. It even tracks the minimum, average, and maximum decibel over time. You can also set a decibel warning to get an alert if the noise gets too loud. And it’s got a history feature so you can review past measurements. Took me a while to figure out how to calibrate it for accurate data, but once I did it’s been really helpful.
Look, if you’re into monitoring noise pollution or just want to know how loud your environment is, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI could be a bit more user-friendly – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on Sound Meter & Noise Detector. I've tested a bunch of sound measurement apps and this one's pretty solid. The core features work well - the decibel meter is accurate and the history/tracking is useful. And where it falls short is the UI, which can be a bit clunky at times. But if you're just looking for a simple way to monitor noise levels, this does the trick. Wouldn't say it's the best out there, but it's a pretty good option.
