as a long time user i have always liked this app the best, but i'm at 4 or 5 songs in a row that it just repeatedly saves the search instead of telling me what the song is and i don't have time for that. nobody does. i'll give it a few more days, but this is waiting too long for the fix already. this kind of problem should be addressed on day 1.
I paid for this app and used to love using it. Now, I'm very unhappy with how the app has been working. It seems that if I try to listen to a song or group of songs using the in-app history using YouTube or even Spotify, all I get these days is "an error occurred initializing the YouTube player. Then there is when I try to do a search using the search, it's unable to find anything, a waste of time. If I try another music search-type app, that app seems to locate the song, usually in seconds.
Takes too long to load and it never gets a hit on new or slightly obscure songs. Even missed on a popular 70s song lately. The problems started several years ago and i just use the native "Now Playing" function more often than SoundHound even though it misses a lot too. Sorry that you've given up on your user base, I'll give you on you too
Have to drop my score down to one star. This app used to be amazing. It even used to recognized obscure foreign songs. Now however, it never recognizes anything. It just listens and says there were no matches, or says there's an error. I bought this app years ago because it was so good. But if they don't fix it soon, I'm moving to something else.
I really don't know what to say. By the time it gets done "polishing the records and dusting off the shelves," my sound clip pl is usually gone. It used to start searching almost instantly, but now the program seems to take forever to load even with the widget. The ability to find obscure and rare song says turned lackluster. Even songs that used to identify or no longer recognized. What happened?
You guys can't be serious with not having an option to turn this always listening bs off right? I don't want you listening to my microphone whenever because I maybe might accidentally say "Hey Soundhound" at some point. I didn't even realize you were doing it until I noticed the info about it in settings. It's super sketchy. I don't think I've ever expected a refund for something I've used so much, but this is absolutely not what I paid for. This needs to be sorted out.
For the past week or so any searches, text or audio, result in "Sorry, there was an error." Able to identify 80% of the time. When it can't, Google search can. Ability to identify correctly has gone down. There is no easy way to report problems (ideally including the sample) identifying. No way to report songs that were missed.
I've had this for several years, I got it back when google did the celebration sale. It was a much better app before. Now the app takes much longer to load (often missing the song entirely), and it doesn't even appear in the apps last used section to recall it quickly forcing a restart every time you leave it. I've noticed that it fails to notice songs far more often than it used to as well. I have Shazam pro too and I may have to switch to that as my default music search.
Freezes and crashes alot. It often takes longer to load up than the song lasts. I had an older version which came with a tablet I own, and that worked great. This version is so slow starting up that the song frequently ends before it begins to work. I went back to using another app which has an annoying amount of ads, just because it works quicker. For $5.99 I expect the app to work without issues.
This was the greatest apps at 1st. You could use the widget in a hurry or open the app& find the song playing even in a crowded place, until it went from finding many songs to hardly ever workin. Especially songs from Africa or other countries (there's a map in app). Music discovery? Yes, It allows U to save your searches to try later but majority of the time it still doesn't. It's disheartening, such a great app isn't fulfilling it's full potential. If it did I'd pay & 5 star it immediately.
