Reviews for Spam Blocker Pro - Mezo

The app is fine for sending and receiving messages, and I like the ability to separate business and personal messages. But, I got the app specifically to block spam, and it doesn't do that. Yes, you can block numbers from messaging you again, but you still get the first message. To get a higher rating (from me), the app needs a setting to assume messages from non-contacts are spam and let you whitelist any you want to allow.

It's a nice app. The spam and business sorting works wonders, but there's a lack of customization and settings. Every chat has a different color which I'd prefer to be able to change the color of each chat and look of the app's overall theme. I hate that it pops up with message delivered every text you send. Clicking the person's info at the top should open contacts. I wish there was an option to just show their name and not their number in chat. Overall it's good, but could use more features.

I commented 4 years ago: "When a keyword contains Chinese characters, the blocking does not work." I just paid for Premium and am glad to see this issue has been solved. I think it only lacks one feature that I want desperately – adding a "Delete" button on the incoming message notifications so that users can delete a message straightaway. And when I tapped on "Need help? Chat with us", it showed "WhatsApp is not installed", which was not the case.

I bought the premium, but it doesn't do much more. It said it would be able to set up automatic replies but that's not anywhere to be found. If you want to set up an "allow list" so important friends can always send a text, you have to -each time- scroll through all the countries in the world to set the number prefix. Annoying! I have had this app for 1/2 hr and am ready to cancel. Deleted but unable to get refund!

Works great at filtering spam, would give it 5 stars but I can't save photos or any attachment that were texted to me, when you hit save it says it can't. And you can't highlight text in a message, like if someone texts you their address and you want to copy/paste it into navigation or you get one of those dual authentication codes, you can't just highlight and copy the relevant data out of the message. I paid for the full version so its disappointing it doesn't work fully.

It's the only app I've found that separates texts from unknown numbers into their own folder. That was the feature I wanted most. Unfortunately, the problem is that too many real texts from people in my contact list come through as unknown numbers, and I can't reply to them or even see what number it was to figure out who sent it. I'm essentially losing real texts due to it tossing 50% of what comes in into this long string of unknown numbers and glomming them into this massive useless thread. A warning bell went off when it first installed and imported my texts. It created a HUGE thread of unknown texts in a single thread (in addition to individual threads per contact), and it looked like every text I'd gotten from everyone in my contacts list for who knows how long. Clearly there are some serious bugs here in basic operation. I had to go back to my previous SMS app. Maybe I'll try again in the future if they work some of the bugs out.

I originally thought this was a great app. paid the high price with no issues because the blocking was legit. However it turned out to have some serious issues with mms messages. No way to manage how they send so they only do separate replies to each person in the group chat. Also images would not show up and couldn't insert. Ni ability to select current conversation. The blocking features are some of the best I've seen but the mms issue is too big for me to over look.

My original review complained that the app wouldn't rotate into landscape mode. They fixed that. I recently tried the app again to block texts based on keywords. On standard text messages that worked fine, but if a spammer sent a text that was for some reason in multimedia format, I would still get the notification, even if the message went to my "blocked" folder. The whole point of blocking the messages is so I don't get notifications, and this failed at that. Also, I didn't receive some notifications of group messages from family members, and I had to go back to my old app if I wanted to split the message into an individual conversation so I could reply to just the sender.

I absolutely LOVE this app!! When I started receiving a ton of annoying spam texts, I blocked them by keyword and they stopped! 🥰 It's also really useful for enforcing boundaries with people by instantly detecting and deleting texts from numbers I choose! Rather than seeing hurtful texts from someone, I can just block them and only allow phone calls instead. My point is that this app customizes my experience with texting and I'm grateful. Thank you! 😊

You were the only app that could block incoming texts based on a keyword, which I desperately need to fight off all the spoofed spam I get. Now it's a paid premium feature. So disappointed. I also could not send group messages to the GROUP, instead it would send to everyone individually, which annoyed everyone in my group. My search for a spam-blocking app that works for me continues.

I'm happy that I bought the unlocked version. No more messages to "Endia" offering her a credit line (yes, I got this one every day!). No more "shipping notifications" from spammers. Etcetera. It allows me to whitelist people in the rare instance their message landed in the blocked queue. When I've contacted Support, they replied within a few hours. Their answers are accurate and helpful. I like that it works on keywords, just like writing an inbox rule to erase spam emails, rather than just blocking a number. Spammers spoof a different number every day, so I'd end up with a gigantic list of blocked numbers that won't be used again. This app is much more accurate and efficient to use. The one concern is that the whitelisting process should be easier and more transparent.

Need to change it to where you can have a wildcard entry in the blocking list, or at least allow commas in the block list. *EDIT 8/28/2020* Messages are no longer being blocked. I've sent three requests for help, and only when I said I want my money back did they reply. Their only response was to go to Google Play to unsubscribe. No offer to help figure out why it's not blocking texts/MMS. Also noticed a significant uptick in spam messages after I started paying for the app. Beware of this app, they take money, don't support the app, and I'm almost certain they may be supplying your phone number to scammers.

Great for blocking, horrible text app. I'm still getting some spam texts but not as many as I was getting a week ago, before this app. I don't keep it as my default text app because it's not as user friendly as the app "Messages". In group texts, it shows each person's number, not their name that's saved in my phone, and I can't respond to an incoming text pop-up box, which means I have to get out of the app I'm using to go to the message to respond.

5 STAR APP! I struggled for more than a week trying to prevent an all-of-a-sudden flood of x-rated texts that I tried to fight by deleting and blocking. I couldn't keep up with the influx and I really have much better things to do with my time. My Messages app didn't help. Then I found Key Messages. Hallelujah! After a few settings, no more "looking for a horny girl?" and other Triple X texts. This app is GREAT!

Does what it promises but runs slow Like many of you, I was getting multiple spam messages a day (for me, from WinRed). It got to the point that I was ready to change my number. This app saved me. It sends messages from unknown numbers into a separate list that you can check later. At the end of the day, I can check what I call the "moron net" and see what was caught. The only reason that I am not giving this app 5 stars is because it started operating very slowly. If they fix it, 5 starts

Exceptional app. I tried it for three days, and it blocked 15 sms spam messages. I only had to allow 1 that it blocked in error. I stepped up and paid for the one-time fee. Unless it breaks, it will be on every device because I detest spam txt more than email spam. The April 25th, 2025 update broke it. Support resolved the issue within a few days. Only issue in about five years.

Features SMS blocking rules that, for whatever reason, don't seem to exist on competing apps. It's also nice that numbers in your contacts are separated into their own list, distinct from all unknown numbers. Finally, there's a handy feature where 2FA text message codes are automatically copied to the clipboard. However beyond that, there isn't much going for it. I have weird rendering errors on my device where occasionally older messages will float over or behind current messages. Strange.

I really liked using this for messaging, amd my spsm filters were perfect. But when I updated to Android 15, it stopped working. I can read messages just fine, but anytime I try to send one, it tells me to set it as default when I've already got the app as default, and refuses to send. I contacted the support email about the issue over 2 weeks ago, and haven't gotten any response. I would love to use it again if the issue were corrected. But currently, I'm going to be pausing my subscription.

I am suddenly unable to send any messages. I am getting a message that says "Sender doesn't support replies" on all messages. When I switch back to the default messaging app I am able to send and receive perfectly fine. Edit: Y'all are the best! Thank you so very much! This is the only app I pay monthly for due to family issues and I panicked when it stopped working! Thank you so much for all of your hard work keeping this app up and running for us!

I can no longer send texts. Premium account. All contacts say "sender does not support replies" and there is no way to actually type in a text. Switched to stock Android text app and texting send and receive is working fine. Happened at a very critical time (family member in hospital). It just happened between yesterday and today and I didn't change any settings in phone or app because my last sent text was 3pm yesterday. EDIT: update seems to have fixed it. Thx.
