My speedo on my truck stopped working.. and this app alone has saved me from countless tickets. It's accurate and easy to use. My favorite feature Is that it will display your speed in small box over my other apps. So while using GPS, door dash or youtube, you can have your speed accurately displayed in the top corner of the screen.. 5 stars because I use this app more then any other app. It's a absolute must have for me.
Reviews for Speedometer: GPS Speedometer
← Back to Speedometer: GPS SpeedometerThe app did exactly what I expected and needed it to do. The perfect diagnostic tool for verifying speedometer readings for change of tire size. 👌👍Nice job all the way around 🖕 The map is very useful too. From what I could tell, it seems to be pretty accurate on where you've been. Whilst checking the suspension and steering components, it even picked up my zigzag I did going down the road and was visible on the map. Again, Nice job to everyone who had a hand in developing this useful app.👏
I love this app thus far. I'm using it for bike rides and enjoy the gps/map, session time, and speedometer. There are three things I can think of off the top of my head that would enhance the experience however: the ability to save personal records in distance, speed, average speed, etc. Also the ability to save rides into categorized logs and to toggle a mark rendering them undeletable. Lastly, I would gladly pay a dollar or two to avoid ads altogether if that is at all viable!
I love this app!! Extremely accurate. Speed. Max speed. Average speed of trip. Total miles of trip. Total time of trip. GPS location. Saves the exact path you took for the trip with GPS on a completed detailed map that is saved automatically. (You can look at your trip history, going back several months, to see and / or prove exactly where you were for any givin day.) A "Window Mode" to use that will display your speed on a small screen while being able use other apps uninterrupted.
This speedometer has been the best. I use it on my sur ron, and it's very accurate. I rode past a police radar, and it was giving me the same speed that was on my phone. I like that it's easy to use but still has a couple of different options to switch up the speedometer. I also love that it records my trip so I can see where I rode. Very cool for actually being free. I've already recommended it to a couple of my riding buddies and will definitely continue to recommended!!
Works pretty well, but after a recent update it runs in the background after I exit the app. I don't need or want this running all the time. I have to force stop the app to get it to quit. Please fix. Update: +1 star I found an android permission that I turned off to fix this. I agree with other complaints about the ads. I know they have to advertise to make money, but it would be nice if the speed would show during the ad and the ad would auto close. Maybe an 80/20 screen split or something.
After the initial safety issue I faced regarding unskippable ads (detailed in my first review), the app updated to include a payment option for no-ads... but literally choosing the WORST payment model and ignoring my suggestion of a 1-time payment, providing a "choice" of either a monthly or annual subscription. From my initial 2-star review; +3 for actually reading the reviews and making a change... but -4 for showing that it's all about the money. FYI, your main competitor is
When using an app like this for a max speed run, you might only be going top speed for a fraction of a second. With every other app I've used, 60-70% of the time it would accurately record my top speed. Its very frustrating. So far, this app has been accurate 100%. Backed up and verified against a stand alone gps speedometer and a Garmin.
Just what I needed. The instrument cluster went out on my Volvo, so I downloaded this and have a quick-fix until I can repair it. Works well, seems accurate, and I love having a heads-up display. Unfortunately, I can't seem to change the text color - when I change the theme color, the text stays white. Also, it would be nice to be able to toggle the stats panel on and off. Sometimes, I just want to see the speed. Fix those two things, and I'll be glad to give it five stars.
This app is really good, it is very useful with trying to change my behavior of speeding. I do have a suggestion whenever you guys upgrade it which should be easy enough to implement. In the history, it would be nice to be able to see the timestamp of when you hit your max speed. Also, a timestamp of every time you went over the speed you had set, would be good info to have. That information could be useful to some people, certainly myself included.
Much better than expected and was able to use it "split screen" with maps app and worked really good. I also appreciate the choice of traditional speedo or modern digital read out. Offers features like time driven, total miles driven and also shows the max speed I hit during the drive. This would be really nice for racing a vehicle and you want to log your top speed. Also, still can't believe it is FREE and it just has 1 Ad at the initial startup of the App! Clearly a KEEPER!!! 😎✌️👍
I've tried several different apps like this, and by far this one is the best. It's well designed and has all the features you could possibly need. But its best feature is its lack of obtrusive/obnoxious adds. Unlike other apps, you don't have to waste time being bothered with pop up adds redirecting you to other websites, or constantly requiring you to have to click on adds just to get rid of them. Just open it, click on one or two adds; then no more distractions- just enjoy. It's perfect!!!
Great app, but there are two things I'd suggest for improvement. 1 - when on gauge mode, alter the dial to correlate with the correct setting. For example, it doesn't need to read 260 mph. 2 - add an odometer that keeps track of mileage over time. I don't like adding up all the individual legs to see how many miles I've ridden over the season.
I've really like this app. My speedometer stopped working and definitely needed a way to watch my speed. Thankfully, there's an app for that, lol! So far, I haven't had any issues with it at all, and have driven past many speed limit checkers with it only being about 1 mph less then what my speed is showing, so I'd say it's pretty accurate, better then I expected it to be! Would definitely recommend 👍
The app showed it was free in the app store. That usually means there's going to be some ads involved. THE APP IS NOT FREE!!! When I started the app, it right away took me to a payment plan. I wasn't able to try the app because they want you setup a 3-day trial period and then a continuing payment plan. l never set these up because they're difficult to stop before you get charged. Because they don't tell you about charges up front I question if they can be trusted at all.
didn't mind the ads at startup, even though it made it aggravating when it was an emergency, but now it's trying to force me to get a paid subscription and wont work at all. app deleted and never going to be downloaded again. I've been using this app for over a year since it was supposed to be free with adds, never once was I being forced to get a paid subscription. Core features were no longer available for free, it was stuck on the pay for subscription page every time I tried to open it.
warning, this app is free to download. after that it's a pay to use. I had used this a few times out of curiosity while on the train. Worked well before with the free level of use but now when opening now, it's presenting with a 3 day free trial, 29.99 for the year 'to access premium features'. you cannot opt out of the trial and continue using the free level.
This is the only GPS speedometer app I've used thus far that doesn't use excessive or intrusive ad behavior, it also does not try to trick the user into granting unnecessary permissions like Notifications. Ads are present but not terribly obnoxious and don't tend to get in the way of the core function. Some cache/storage is used but isn't bloated the same way other free GPS also are. The "pro" subscription notification is presented occasionally but not shoved down your throat. Well done!
I love this app! We have 4 mini bikes and a dirt bike. I use it to track riding hours and miles for maintenance purposes. The screen is large enough to see if you have your phone mounted on the bike. Digital and Analog options, as well as live map if you pay (very affordable). It tells you the distance traveled, time, average speed, top speed, and shows the route taken on a map in the summary. it also let's you name the trips to keep them organized if need be. Definitely recommend
Ads ads ads ads ads. Awful. I used it twice and had to uninstall it. Horrible. I understand having ads to keep the app free-I have other apps that do that. But last time I used this, I had to go through THREE ads to get to the actual app. The first ad, for some app, had an X on the top left, to close the ad and proceed. But it was a Trick. The X is just part of the picture which is a link to an ad for even another app. That made me angrier than anything else - the deception
