So here's my honest take on Spot Assist Skydiving Tool. I've tested a bunch of weather and navigation apps for skydivers, and this one's pretty darn good. The core features like wind and weather data are super useful, and I like how it gives you that jump pattern guidance. And it's not as feature-rich as some pro-level apps, but for most casual skydivers it's gonna cover everything you need. The only real downside is the in-app purchases, which feels a bit like nickel-and-diming. But overall, if you're a skydiver, this is a must-have tool in my opinion.

Pros

  • Tons of useful data all in one place - weather, winds, jump zones, patterns
  • Satellite map view is great for seeing conditions at different dropzones
  • Parachute range and recommended pattern features are super handy
  • Free to download, only some advanced stuff requires in-app purchases

Cons

  • In-app purchases feel a bit excessive for core features
  • Interface can be a little clunky at times, not the most intuitive
  • Probably overkill for pretty casual skydivers who just need basic weather info

Description

Been using the Spot Assist Skydiving Tool for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that shows you all the essential info skydivers need – current weather, wind conditions, recommended jump areas, and even parachute patterns. Pretty solid app if you’re into skydiving or paragliding.

Here’s what you can do: you can check the satellite map to see dropzones worldwide, along with the current windsaloft and surface winds. There’s also a feature that displays your parachute’s range and a safe jump area (that’s an in-app buy though). And if you zoom in, it’ll even show you the recommended pattern for your canopy – super handy.

Look, if you depend on skydiving weather, you’ll definitely want this app. It’s not perfect – the in-app purchases are a bit annoying – but overall it does the job really well. Worth checking out if you’re an active skydiver or paraglider.
