I downloaded this app to save a few bucks on parking and secure a space. Downtown Chicago can be hectic, especially on weekends. The parking garage not only did not have spaces, they also charged me the $14 to be able to leave. To make matters worse, I had to pay another $20 to park. I paid for parking three times and was was 45 minutes late for my dinner reservation.
Reviews for SpotAngels Parking Map & Deals
← Back to SpotAngels Parking Map & DealsWas pretty decent but now it refuses to load information or let me save my car's parking space which I need since sometimes I have to park blocks from my house. No info is popping up anymore either. Pity. *edit*: One issue fixed just for another to make the app useless. App won't even save my car's location even after exiting and reopening multiple times. About to delete it and just go back to writing notes down
Can't lock to a single car and stop tracking future cars (like if you are renting other cars), it will always add new cars automatically and forget the location of your actual car
This app is pretty much useless. I was trying to find parking near my hotel and the app produced no results, even though I later found nearby parking garages on my own. Considering it's a paid app, I'd expect better. I'm really bummed that I forgot to cancel before the trial ended. Not worth the money.
A waste of data on your phone. This app simply cannot deliver.
awful app.. enabled all and so just keeps going in loops
Excellent and helped me find a spot at busy urban area!
Garbage app set up only to take money. Provides an empty map unless you subscribe.
Solid app, but the "Save Car Location" feature doesn't seem to save sometimes, which has caused me endless grief.
it recommended a parking garage that charges ~$11/h capped at midnight over street parking at $6/h and I only had to pay until 10p, after was free. I'd drop this down to a zero. the app allowed me to sign up for a free trial with CC, and search for a spot. a few hours later it's saying it needs different permissions to continue and I can't cancel my trial without adjusting settings.
Poorly optimized, poorly designed, money-suck machine. I had to uninstall the app before I could follow the cancelation link (the app was blocking the link) on a spot I didn't need. By the time I worked that puzzle out the reservation had started and I couldn't get the money back. I would highly recommend avoiding this app.
First the good: This app is awesome and saves money by providing critical information about free and metered parking start and end times. The bad: 1. filtering could be improved. When I filter a 4 hour requirement, please do not show spots with only one or two hour limit; please put a filter for min price and not just max price. filter and add cost of oversized vehicles. 2. gui can be improved. it us hard to read street names as font is too small. 3. It does not remember where I parked.
Driving in a city like New York, this is great searching for street parking & knowing how long you can take advantage of free parking. It also tells you where paid parking can be found. The reason for only three stars is twofold. 1- When navigating real-time location, the map spins around when you are not moving. So sitting at a light, suddenly the orientation of the streets in relation to your car is upside down or sideways. 2-This app sucks battery power more than ANYTHING I've experienced.
While i love the idea, the app is either very confusing or doesn't work. Every single time I tap "Find Parking Here" I get "Couldn't get place information, please try again". at the same time it still shows some of the parking lots and garages around. If it doesnt work yet at some location it should be easy to communicate it explicitly.
Edit: I can log in again! Nice! .........../n Listen, Y'all, this app isn't going to park your car for you, but it tells you where the street parking is and what the restrictions are. There isn't another app that does it as well. Y'all have a lot of petty complaints, but as long as you can log in in the first dang place(which you can again), there's no reason to complain cos the price is right. Chill. ............................................../n Old review: Cannot login by any method. Nice.
Absolutely pathetic. Shopping for parking space to go to a concert this evening. I noticed that Spot Angels represents a handful of desirable parking locations. So I download their app and submit my email address. I am then told to wait for an email to confirm my account. But no email comes. After waiting about 15 minutes and not receiving an email to complete my registration, I found a space with one of their competitors. How totally pitiful is that?
The app is generally good. It shows where I can park and for how long and even let's me search for future parking to plan ahead. There are two flaws though. First, the GPS isn't accurate. When I stop moving the map will start rotating such that when I look back at the screen I have no idea which way is forward. This doesn't happen with any other gps enabled apps, so it's clearly not a hardware issue. Second, the map doesn't show the direction of one way streets.
Sells parking that you can't use, because the lot wants a printout in the car, which you can't get from the app. They had no knowledge of this when I told them, and they have no plan to fix it. Also, their "exclusive deal" was the same price as the machine on site. They make a note that this doesn't seem right and to contact them. I have already had a very lengthy exchange with them on this point at that very email. They are now claiming ignorance.
There's no explanation of how to use this app for new users. I have no way to reserve a spot or how to pay once I'm there. Nor whom to pay or look for. It honestly makes me super nervous heading to DC with no way to verify or guarantee my parking spot before arriving there. I'll keep the app to see if someone is there to help me understand and have a parking spot for me. If so, I will change my rating and review. Until then, I'm very nervous and will find a backup spot just in case.
This app use to be great. But now when I search for an address, I no longer see the color on the streets for street parking. Turns out, you need to pay now to see where you can park for free, where you have to pay to park, etc.. and not a one time fee, it's a subscription! All content seems static though, it is definitely not worth a subscription.
