I prepaid to park in Boston. I read the directions four times and followed them correctly. I also made sure I was at the correct location. The barcode reader at the garage would not accept my prepaid code and kept telling me it was invalid. I had to take a ticket and pay the regular weekend rate on top of my payment through the app. Frustrating and no respect for my time.

beware. I had a great experience but things seem to be changing. I booked a spot in Manhattan. I arrived and the garage was full and would not honor the reservation. I was told to contact the app. I made a second reservation but directions took me to the first one and wasted time. I had to get to my appointment so found a garage. all total for 2 hours of parking cost $135 dollars!! I tried contacting spot hero - no response. so basically there's no guarantee that you get a parking spot.
Scam. I couldn't find the spot I reserved and they didn't refund me when I called. Circled the area for half an hour past the start time. I had to get to my convention in DC so had to park somewhere else. Ended up costing me 80 dollars total for all day parking, because I paid twice. They didn't refund me because I was still searching during the start time allotted. I would still appreciate a refund.
I reserved a parking spot in a garage near the venue. When we arrived, the traffic situation was so backed up police shut down the street on which the garage was located, so we were unable to reach our reserved spot through no fault of our own. We were also now running late to the event. Our only choice was to park in a garage we could reach. When I called SpotHero in the morning, emailed receipts, & they refused to compensate me for being unable to use my reservation. Terrible and unfair!
They're making it impossible to change my reservation time, which was extended as an error on their end. They won't help me via email. They keep telling me they'll extend my reservation when I said 3 times it needs to be decreased. I am unable to call them for live help as I have trouble hearing. Will never use this app again.
I had to pay for parking twice because the address didn't match the reservation, and the in app directions button brought me to a corner with 3 lots... so I didn't know which one to pick. I called support and waited 15 minutes for no answer... sent proof that I had to repay, along with photos and proof that there was no clarity on which of the 3 lots I had a reservation for, and they refused a refund. I would NEVER use this again if they sell you something that you can't actually use
I love this app. I can't tell you how many times it has not only saved me but delivered an excellent parking experience, both when I'm traveling to new places and when I'm in my home city. Easy to use, easy to pay, and excellent functionality. I can depend on it to let me know what the parameters are for each spot, and when possible, easily change or extend my reservation in the app.
Today I showed up for a reserved spot but the parking lot was full. Fair enough – I'm sure it happens – and I was able to cancel. I immediately pulled this app up and found another, this time for a lot that is entirely fenced shut. This time, the app would not let me cancel. I ended up parking on the street, far from my destination, while paying for a spot that doesn't exist. Two stars because it worked better the other time I used it.
Spot Hero sold me a reservation for a spot in a garage, and when I got there they told me Spot Hero reservations would not be accepted, and that they should have never sold the tickets in the first place. I ended up missing the sports game and company event we had scheduled, and had to call customer support to get a refund. This is after driving 1 hour each way to the stadium and back. No further compensation or solutions offered other than refund. I will never try using this service again.
I wish more cities used this service. I reserved parking several days in advance. I did have to adjust the arrival and leaving time the morning of my trip and was I was able to do that in seconds. I like the scan from my phone to get in and out. No paper ticket to lose. I also like that there is a navigation button right on your reservation. I could write a much longer review but truly the whole process was so easy and convenient.
