Anchor made podcasting easy. Record and edit right in the app, and then post it in multiple places. Spotify for Podcasters took that great idea, and completely destroyed it by eliminating all the ease and perks of use. Now you can no longer record in app. You can no longer edit in app. You can no longer add multiple pre-recorded parts together in app. This app now does NOTHING. I hope they'll realize their foolishness and undo this failure. They suggest using Riverside to record - also useless.

This app 2 years ago, it was working perfectly, and I could record many small intros with zero issues. Now I have to resort to other apps to record and then send it to my podcast, when before I got into this app record and done. I loved that I could use all the small music intros that were in the app. It was really cool. Please 🙏 bring it back like it was 2 years ago.

I had never recorded a podcast before, and I'm only semi-tech literate. I intentionally wanted to go totally low fi on my podcast, using only the voice recorder on my Samsung Galaxy S9+ as my mic - just because I'm lazy and I want instant gratification. So I did some research, and Anchor sounded like a good match for me. It's incredibly user-friendly & simple to use. It makes the sound quality of my pod nearly equal to some of those highly polished and produced podcasts out there. I'm hooked.

So disappointed in this app. There's always some kind of a problem. It's difficult to change your podcasts link. No matter what you type in, it'll tell you it's already taken. You can't move episodes to a different part of your podcast, if you accidentally recorded and published it under a different episode file. The music feature is a little glitchy as well. Then good luck finding customer service. Great concept, that needs a lot of help.

I love that I can do everything from my phone. However, the recording with friends goes pear- shaped after a few moments. The voice tracks bleed into each other. Anchor only gives you one voice/audio track to edit from with the two voice tracks ALREADY mixed. So there has been a lot of unusable audio content sadly. One way I've been able to troubleshoot is by keeping the recordings short and just having multiple, short recordings. Even then, it's still not 100% effective. Otherwise it is great.

Great app if you want to upload your own podcast, i am finding it very useful to archive large audio files such as recordings that I will later publish as podcast episodes. However, it does not seem to have the capability to allow you to have MULTIPLE different podcasts, just only one. Which I find to be a huge shame, since I have many different podcast ideas i would love to be able to publish eventually. Please make it so that you can upload and manage more than one podcast and it'd be perfect!

Horrible. I can't record, I can't do anything in it but listen now. This really sucks since the really bad update they did. Horrible Horrible. I know of the update, and it wasn't a smart one. I'm now using a different app for recording my podcasts. I did love your app, but it was made harder. Someone wasn't thinking about the change in the long run. The recording part could have been left in. Whoever developed this change is really bad. Have them change it back or fire them.

The app is super basic, which makes it easy. Maybe a little too basic for my taste. I was very disappointed to learn that my bluetooth earpiece was not a device I could record from as it is a very high quality piece of kit that has excellent noise cancellation and HD voice capabilities. Who wants to hold their handset to their head (a la talking on the phone) to make their podcast episodes? I know you can use other devices to make your episodes, but I don't have other devices yet :(

It's a free ap so I hate to complain, but it's like youtube now where if you turn off your screen, the podcast stops too. This is highly inconvenient if you use your phone for podcasts and it's in your pocket. Also, you can't copy and paste for the episode description, and I swear my numbers fluctuate up AND down every time I log in... how can you lose a download? Anyway, it's not terrible, but has gotten a lot worse since the name and ap were updated a few months ago.

I love the idea of making podcasts with only an app, and Anchor ALMOST as all the features you could possibly want. My only issue is that while you can upload your own music, you can't overlay it while you're recording -- they have music and transitions for that, but you can't upload your own...anything you upload can only be played in between your recorded segments. Other than that, this app is perfect. Edit: Shortly after leaving this review, not only did I get a response, but background music and sound effect uploading was added. This app is all-in-one and everything you could ask for! 5 out of 5
