Reviews for Spotify: Music & Podcasts

This version was installed on my "Chromecast with Google TV" and seems to be somewhat lacking in features. My biggest complaint is the poor volume normalisation. For example, it's impossible to relax even to 'easy listening' music when everyone is in bed because I need to be constantly mindful of adjusting the volume. Even when playing tracks from same albums, the volume is all over the place. It's one of Spotify's biggest flaws.

Spotify is the best why would anyone hate Spotify it's like the best app I'm serious like if you hate Spotify you're a total jerk

Video freezes while playing for a fraction of a second.

The app is great but the performance is very poor. It hangs the TV so bad I usually need to remove the power cable in order to restart it. The more songs you play, the worse the performance gets. While you are in the app you can barely notice it, but once you try to start another app, the TV dies. Other than this it's very cool to be able to play music on TV.

I don't know why sometimes the songs are strucking in between when I play a music in my tv . fix this problem soon

Incredibly annoying to use. Keeps bothering me to play the music video instead of just play the audio. Will pretend to remember setting but still start out the next session with reverting to music video, unless I press a prompt. Just add a setting to completely disable music videos. And please the remove the "start a jam" prompt that pops up every. single. time. All your new features are terrible, Spotify.

it's really Awesome bro I do work while playing music on this app I recommend you to use it. it's also good for Android tv

Just magically stopped working. Cache flush + reinstall didn't fix anything. All other apps fine.

This app is the best option to use it for something you would like to listen or watch anything you love √√

it's okay but my sound keeps turning off I like the songs on it I like write them all like a four out of five or five out of 10 that's why I like Spotify so that's this is exactly why you should download Spotify this is a great app for music and podcast.

Cannot find a song without being taken to an irrelevant album that does not have the song I selected. Then I get blocked for searching after 2 songs! Floods me with stupid ads. Monthly subscription is ridiculously too expensive.

it's been a long while since i used this app on my 10 years old Sony Bravia TV. since 2023, it wasnt working properly. fail to play music but still able to watch some podcast. and suddenly just now I launched the app, click play on a playlist and suddenly it plays! Thanks for finally fixing it.

the app worked at First for a couple of months but then out of nowhere it started to skip songs without playing any music. I've uninstalled the app multiple times and signed back in but nothing seems to work.I've tried to sign in and out of Spotify but I've came to the conclusion that it's simply just the app that isn't working because Spotify is working on my phone and on my computer.

Spotify works perfectly on my Apple cell phone however, it does not work on my Sony tv. As other people have stated, I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and it still does not work. The issues I'm having is that the lyrics are delayed and plus the sound does not work all the time. There are a number of issues with this app and hopefully Spotify gets it together and do an update that is actually beneficial to its users. I truly enjoy using this app again, I hope Spotify fixes these issues.

Lacking basic functionality such as radio stations. I don't want to control the app from my phone. I want all the same functionality I have with the web and regular Android app. Play Music was able to do this. We use Android TV connected to a receiver to listen to music throughout our house and the family needs to be able control it without me having to be there with my phone. I was really hoping this would be a good replacement for Google Play Music, but it is not. Regretting signing up for premium and will be canceling now.

This app allows you to take your music and podcasts with you, but it's horrible at it. The user interface is far too busy, with functions that aren't useful for someone on the go. The buttons and icons don't have intuitive behaviors. Functions with no relationship are linked to a single click - e.g., if I download a podcast, it automatically adds it to some list called "Your Episodes". But I can't find where to view or manage Your Episodes. And paradoxically, when I delete a podcast from my device, the episode count on the Your Episodes list increments UP by one. It doesn't integrate well, or consistently, with the desktop or Chromecast apps. Sometimes I go from my apartment to my car and the mobile app picks up right where I left off on my desktop. Other times it automatically starts playing something altogether different, and not of my choosing. The app also tries to do too many things on its own. In the car, get home, hit pause, turn down the volume so it doesn't scare me next time, and the damn app starts playing again, because apparently turning the volume down means, "Start playing again." "Offline Mode" seems to play content that I know I haven't downloaded locally. How is it doing that? Whose data limits are being burned? The end user certainly doesn't know, because nothing is intuitive, labeled properly, or meaningful. I tolerate the app because I have the service. But it's a horrible, horrible app.

The biggest issue (and the reason for the 3 stars) is that artists and albums in the library aren't sorted alphabetically, which makes the library pretty useless. You'll likely just need to search any time you want to find something if you have more than 20 or so artists in your library. Also, this, like every other Android TV music app, is a dumbed-down version of the Android app, so don't get your hopes too high. That being said, this one is better than most of the rest (Tidal, Google Play Music, Youtube Music, etc). The "connect" feature is terrific, and something other services could learn from. Now if Spotify will only get on board with lossless audio. 2017 NVIDIA Shield TV

This is SOOOOOOOOO GOOD. I don't understand why you people complain. It works great, and when opening another app or something with extra sound, the music stops instead of it overlapping the streaming services. It also puts together amazing playlists based off of what you listen to. Using it on my Xbox is even better, because being able to game while listening to RESCENE- Dejá Vu is like heaven.

I don't know if I exactly like the TV/game console app (I also have the app on Xbox, and it seems there's no Google TV-particular issues or any of that). Lyric sync just never worked on TV, and you can't directly go to the artist of a song you're currently playing, so it definitely has some setbacks compared to Spotify's other apps. But I guess the main point is that everything you need to work, works, so I'll leave a 4-star

I'm unable to receive any help from Spotify making it impossible to change any relavent information on my account. Billing, email, mailing address, yet they sure know how to contact my bank!!! I've tried to receive help for this several times, it's a bit ridiculous since it's been my only music app for years. I've been using this for 14 years now, and costumer services have fallen dramatically. This app has been freezing up and unable to move forward. No matter if you skipped one song or more. It's been getting to where I should stop paying for the service. Repeating itself again and again, why pay to skip anything?
