We enjoy using the app to identify different celestial bodiea. I like getting notifications on upcoming events. My complaint on those, though, is that as soon as you tap on the notification, it opens the app showing you where to look, BUT you can not read further on what is happening. I just wish it had an option for further reading *then* you could open the finder.

I love this app! Get it you will enjoy it for yourself and or your family! Especially your kids! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because you can't really zoom in on things really far away but I actually just realized that for 299 you can unlock a version that gives you search features and other options which I'm definitely going to do! I've used this app for years you will love it I promise even the free version. Plus the commercials are not intrusive at all.

Newer version. Still beautiful. Still clueless as to how to run it other than as a pretty toy. New pet peeve is things that continue to run in the background with no option to turn it off. Probably fine for most folks. -- No controls, no information, but quite responsive, and very pretty. Ads take up a largish portion of the Display on my 10 inch display. Action is a little obnoxious after a while. A toy.

excellent app! I look at the heavens all the time and could never tell what I was looking at. I have tried using books (requires too much up and down on the neck), glow-in-the-dark spin wheels (worthless) and other devices to no avail. In Eygpt, I discovered Star Tracker and I've been using it ever since. Just scan the sky and you have it in front of you. It's crazy easy and fun. Highly recommended. A++++

I love this app! I downloaded when I made a trip to Hawaii to be able to tell which stars were really planets, and it's been so much fun!! The alerts are great to learn about what's going on in the night sky. Once in a while it gets a little glitchy and when I point at a star it shifts somewhere else, but as I'm a super casual user it's no biggie. Love that it's free!!!

It's cool for a short period. If you need to find planets, stars, moons, or constellations than it's great. But I get these notifications and I think I'm gonna see something extraordinary by it telling me a location. In stead it just pulls up the sky map. And my phone is usually pointing down when reading messages. Soooo you can imagine how that doesn't help

The star tracker is an amazing product that has opened my eyes to wanting to explore more of the night sky! Just hold up your phone to something interesting you see in the night sky and the app will immediately tell you what you are looking at, showing the planets and stars you are looking at by name and as part of a constellation (where applicable). I recommend it for all that want to explore the night sky!

Overall I enjoy the app, but I have two complaints. First, I find it difficult to figure out where things are unless I can use the moon to get my position. I would like for there to be instructions on using the compass in the bottom corner. Second, I appreciate the notification of special sightings, but often they arrive too late For example, the notice says a planets viewing is best around sunset, but I get the notice well after it is dark.

Truly a fantastic opportunity to view the heavens above. 01/19/22 Ok, since my last review I have had to uninstall the app several times. I kept loosing the point arrow. Recently, regardless of the scheduled event, the arrow always points to the planet Uranus? Don't know if this is a joke or not, I have now uninstall the app again. Maybe the techs can figure what's going on, I hope so I really have enjoyed the app when it's working correctly.

Super smooth U.I, 60 FPS is a big plus! But more importantly, it's accurate, at least while on a Wi-Fi network and location/GPS enabled. After using the app for around ten minutes, I decided to go ahead and buy the full version. The sheer selection of search options is fantastic. You wouldn't normally have all these objects being displayed on any other app. Well worth the $3!

I haven't been able to use this app in years without the compass being completely incorrect and having severe drifting. I let it go for years because my phone was very old. But now I have a top of the line Google Pixel 6 Pro. It just came out. Same exact issues. North was a solid 90+ degrees off and when I held it in the sky without moving, the screen just constantly drifts, like I'm spinning around in circles. So it did this to me on 2 phones, so I'm guessing it's not my fault.

Excellent! As a casual astronomer, it has everything I want. I can call up a constellation to study the star names. The encyclopedia disappears automatically when my phone is raised above the horizon. Similarly, settings buttons disappear when the phone is above the horizon, keeping full use of the screen. Helpful zoom. Great graphics. Full control over how much info I want displayed. Excellent settings menu. Perfection! I suspect that some complaints are due to not understanding the settings.

1. Hard for me to read names. Can size be increased? 2. I love the notificatIons for celestial events. However, sometimes I lose the notificatIon and I can't get the notification back! I wish you would keep it available where I can retrieve it in your app when I'm ready. Unfortunately, I've missed out on some special events. Otherwise, your app is just amazing! It's beautiful, educational, fascinating, and useful. You've done an awesome job! Thank you!!

Solid app but not worth paying for. I upgraded so I could try and see when I could observe the green comet by using the future looking time feature. First off, app isn't even showing or tracking where the comet is, which feels odd. Secondly, the point in time feature is wildly frustrating. It is not intuitive, and is either buggy or you are unable to hold the sky at one moment in time. I had to force quit as the sky was spinning out of control. Nice app though for the basics.

Great app for star gazing! (the following is after a few months) Notifications on my phone are great and all, but the app/phone cuts off the messages and I can't find a way to read it once I "click" on the message. Clicking sends me straight to the app and star charts with no further info and deletes the message. Kind of dissapointing in that respect.

This is a great app, I use it frequently. I especially like the figures superimposed over the constellations that they represent. My only complaint is that the compass calibration is not as accurate as I would like and does not hold its calibration. I am a stickler for precision as it i s necessary for accurate viewing. Thanks for a great app otherwise.

Really enjoy this app so far. In fact I've used it almost every night since installing. I was wondering though, are the shooting stars (enabled with the meteor setting) in real time? It's been pretty bright around where I live at night so I haven't seen many shooting stars lately. If they're not, that would be my only complaint. Not really even a complaint, just cooler if it's in real time😊

Had this app on my iPhone, worked great, I could search for any event, including comets, and the app would help me locate it. I switched to an Android phone, happy that I could get the app on it, but it's functions are lacking. There is no search function, only preloaded objects. So, that comet coming through tonight? No clue where it's at and the app won't show me, even when I tap the notification for the comet, I get shot into the app in whatever location I happen to be. For some reason, an arrow kept pointing me to Taurus... Maybe that's the general location of the comet? Not at all clear.

I loved this app when I 1st got it. I liked seeing where every constellation, planet locals, & meteor showers were; plus, the music is phenomenal! However, I've begun noticing that locations of many focal points are wrong. For example, I'll point my phone to the moon. I'll see it in the night sky with my eyes, but it's not shown on the screen of my phones app. There is an arrow on screen pointing to the moon; if I turn my phone to the right, it will find the moon, but it's faulty info

Visuals are great, but it sends you these notifications that only show you partially about things that entice you, so then you tap on the app and there's no such information there. And at least in my case, I dig for it and can't find it anywhere. So it would get five stars if that was more easily accessed in an intuitive format, but it's great visuals and a fun way to find out what you're looking at, at least, and I do believe those are the primary functions anyway, so a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
