The app has to track my location even when I'm not in my vehicle "for my safety". That's ridiculous, intrusive, and runs my battery down. Might not be worth the Drive Safe and Save discount unless you change some of this. Edited: I turn off Bluetooth when not driving my car (I often go many days at a time without driving) so there's no need for me to be tracked, or have this running, when it's not in use. This is no longer an option to stop this as before when I just turned off Bluetooth.

Horrible App! The previous safe drive app was much better and only had to allow access to location, Bluetooth, and battery unrestricted. Now, we have to allow Bluetooth, location, nearby devices, physical activity, and battery unrestricted, which drains the battery! It won't record trips if power saving mode is on. Also, it doesn't record all trips when I have granted permission to everything required. It may show my return trip, but not getting there or sometimes, no trips at all are recorded.
I have a lot of issues trying to log in. it seems like it times out after I get a verification number, it'll just sit there loading after I type the number in. The biggest issue is I have it on auto pay, and for some reason, it never pays it, so I'm charged a late fee. It's a constant battle that takes about 45 min to try to make a payment very frustrating!!!
Constant price increases! Why?? This is the only insurance I've ever had since I started driving, never been in an accident and for some reason the price is changing almost monthly. You'd think with many years of loyalty, and a good record, your price would drop throughout the years. Nope! If this continues, I WILL be going elsewhere. As far as the app goes, it's ok, but doesn't change the fact this insurance is losing it's mind (and it's customers).
It's truly horrific. I second the valid complaints of everyone else. Drive safe and save was bad. This is infinitely worse. The discount almost isn't worth it. It's also seemingly ruined my Bluetooth connectivity. Other devices, like headphones, have a ton of trouble connecting to my phone in a way they never have before. The only change is this app.
No need to move to the USSR, just down load this up and be monitored 24/7, whether you are driving or not. I did discover, however, that you can stop the app's access to your physical activity, and still have your trips recorded. Also, this app encourages people to run yellow lights, because if you have the option of breaking slightly harder than usual or speeding up and getting through as the light turns red, you'll get a black mark for choosing the safer option.
the app is NOT very accurate. sometimes, I have even tried turning on to another road at 12 mph, and it flags for corning. on some roads, the speed limit posted doesn't match the app. braking is another one that's not accurate, as well as acceleration. you have to drive so easily and gently in order to get a good driving rating that I feel that you become a hazard to other drivers as well as yourself.
If you cancel with "state harm" make sure you call the 800 number to get your card off the website or app! If your card remains there and they screw up and don't actually cancel your insurance YOU WILL BE AUTOCHARGED. You must call to remove, as the app will not let you remove a form of payment without adding another valid one. This has been learned the hard way!! It's been 2 months and I still don't have my money back from these creeps
The app is great for checking my insurance and paying my bill. Since it added the Drive Safe app onto it, it dropped the rating from 5 to 3. I had issues with the original showing a round about as cornering. I've mentioned it time and time again. It drags down my score. Today, I had to use a round about 3 times, and it dinged me as cornering 3 times.
In the last couple days, this app has been sucking down my battery! I have barely driven anywhere and definitely haven't opened the app. I don't know when it updated last, but if it was this week, you might have an issue. There's no reason it should use much of my battery at all, and should not be one of the top used apps for the day, when I've spent hours on Pinterest and haven't even opened State Farm. Yet it has used more.
