Love this app! I'm obsessed with learning what it is that I'm seeing in the sky. I use it often and it always works the way it should, there are no ads even on the free version + no pushing you to pay for anything although there is an affordable option to upgrade with a free trial which is appreciated. And after almost a year of using it only one rating request. Absolutely nothing negative to say about it.

It does show the C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) comet currently passing by, but I can only find it using the search feature. Can't find by moving my phone around. If I search for it and turn on camera movement to figure out exactly where it is in real time, I completely lose track of it and it's impossible to find. The movement sensitivity is too high, I can see my heartbeat shaking the camera. Too much zoom out, turns into a dizzying fish eye lens thing.

Pretty cool, I wish in the free version I could set certain constellations to always be visible. And that I could put notes on the screen beside certain constellations. It would also be nice if it told a bit of the history of each constellation and how sailors used them to navigate by, I realize it would also need a disclaimer (... don't try this on your own boat...the Vikings stayed close to shore the first hundred years and may have used some sort of magical crystal you likely don't have).

very easy to navigate. been using this app for over a year. I love that it shows stars, comets, meteor showers, etc. pretty much anything you want to find in the sky. it has real time or can use slider to fast forward (good for tracking) my only con, which recently just started, is it keeps saying to calibrate my location and location not being accurate. I've done what it says to do many times with no luck. other than that and even with that, this is still a great FREE app.

The free version is pretty handy as a quick access reference tool, but the full version is incredible. The price tag did initially fall into my automatic "apps should never cost this much" repulsion, but I made an exception since the price was a one time expense. I couldn't be happier with that decision. The full version has so many useful abilities. The calendar of events tailored to current location is reason enough, but the encyclopedic info and level of zoomable detail are icing on the cake.

Simply awesome. This app inspired me to buy a telescope. I also love seeing random objects flying through the sky and being able to look and find out its some rocket body fron some previous launch or, hey its the International Space Station! Not sure how expansive their database is on that, but I've yet to have it not be able to tell me what the object was. Granted, it's been like 3 times. But 3 for 3 is pretty good.

Really awesome app, one of the best on the store. My only issues are the occasional impurities in the photographs of the sky (I'm assuming they're reflections of the studio, equipment, etc.) and wish they would be edited out. That, and I wish there were more 3d models of major stars and deep sky objects. If those small things were fixed, this app would be perfect.

Even though this doesn't have all the features of the desktop version, this is still plenty useful on it's own; and by buying you are helping support the desktop app, which is totally free! This is the price to pay for good open source software, and that is more than reasonable. One issue; sensor-look turns on too easily when you have manually moved to an object and want to read without holding the phone in the air...an onscreen button to lock the view, or similar, would be stellar ;)

This is a fantastic app. I use it every time I take my telescope out to stargaze. The positions and names of everything are accurate, even with the deep sky objects. With premium, you can use GoTo or a similar computerized tracking technology to automate your telescope for ease of use, and you get specific times for when an object will be most easily visible. I also use the app for planning ahead of time what I want to observe to save time when it matters. Overall, 10/10 would highly recommend.

I have Stellarium on the laptop and it's awesome. Problems with this one: it frequently displaces the compass by up to 45 degrees occasionally. The. Compass on this phone is reliable and accurate. Might not be a big problem if you are using stars to guide you (although 30 or 40 degrees could be. I use it to aim my 5" reflector on nights when magnitude 2 and 3 are washed out. Some other operational handicaps. I often need to switch out to note-taking. Like it. Don't love it.

*edit 6/14 Still enjoying this app immensely. The Free edition is fine for me as I don't have a telescope nor use of one. I do have a love of of astronomy. I find myself checking the night skies first thing if I have to go outside at night. Always hoping for a cloudless night sky. Great app for kids, novice users or any age groups. I also like the option of using it in daylight to see what is in my locations view even though it's not visible yet. Go back at a previous point in time is good+.

SO cool! I've never been one of those people who can easily spot constellations, but this app makes it almost shockingly easy! I'm also surprised how accurate it is! Just last night i was stargazing through my window when i noticed a satellite moving through the sky. I checked the app and, sure enough, i could see the satellite moving on my phone, as well! I HIGHLY recommend 😊

I'm absolutely giving 5 🌟 THIS App (I have the free version) is a great tool, Incredibly accurate and helpful. The more I watched the skies, the more I wanted to know. I can look up all sorts of things ahead of time, so i can lookout, and also pointing it at the sky as it happens (you can identify most things, from satellites to rocket bodies as they go by, point device and ID) comets planets and more!

Edit: thank you, found it. I expected it to be in settings, and the icon with more options looks like the Google Maps icon for layers. Old- Would like more features, specifically the EQ grid. I'd buy the plus version if I could confirm it had it, AND it was cheaper. I'd like to support the project but, and call me cheap, 20 bucks for a phone app to do what the computer version does for free isn't justifiable to me.

Awesome app! Works offline, too! GPS and real time, plus past and future results. No ads. Search for a star, neighboring galaxies, the moon, etc. and it will point you in the right direction every time. You can turn off the atmosphere, so you can see more during the day, and even at night. Highly recommend app. One of my favorites.

This is the most accurate stargazing app I've been able to find! What I love about it is how you can look thousands of years into the past and future and see how the sky and daylight times slowly shift, including other parts of the world. The premium isn't required to use the vast majority of the app which is very appreciated, but I got it anyway since I'm a nerd. I would like the option to disable satellite visibility though, the Starlinks are EVERYWHERE and block other more-important things.

it's an amazing app, I use it pretty much every night. I did upgrade to the paid. version but tbh it's not much different than the free one. I love learning so the in depth is descriptions are awesome! figuring out the different tools and settins is confusing but tips are plentiful on google. My favorite feature is the calander, it lists upcoming astronomic event's and also lists when satellites are passing by each night and let's you track them.

I find Stellarium very useful. I had some difficulty figuring out a number of the features, so I would have appreciated documentation. I would also like a few additional features: 1-some way to return to real-time when I get lost and it appears frozen. 2-some way to measure the degrees between 2 objects. 3-some way to force it to recalibrate when I notice it is not tracking any more 4-documentation to explain how best to hold the phone for the fastest recalibration. I highly recommend it.

I love this app! Definitely better than other 'star map' type apps. The free version isn't too limiting, and the premium version is extremely cheap. Very easy to use, and the fast forward feature is pretty useful to plan ahead on certain days if you're going out to stargaze. Nearly every star has a detailed explanation, which is really fun to use.

I have bought the paid version and I am quite pleased with the performance and accuracy of the app. I am very new to astronomy as such, but finding items I read about in the news and podcasts is pretty cool. The only thing I can take issue with is the names of the events or sky items are always different from the identity names used in the app. And I think that is the news media's problem, not the apps. Besides I just do a little more research and learn a lot more about what I am looking for.
