The App Scam With Me. don't buy subscription. they show thay have Twisted Hate by Ana Huang but after the subscription done the Audiobook is gone if I click on it it shows THE BOOK IS NOT AVAILABLE and I totally lost all my money it's a fraud . so if you buy the subscription there is no guarantee is you can get the book Auddio book.
Reviews for Storytel - Audiobooks & Books
← Back to Storytel - Audiobooks & Bookscan we add more speeds?! sometimes 2x are too slow. other than that, the app is amazing!! i am used to listen at 3x speeds.
A very good medium for those who love hearing stories while on the move or at home. The modulations of story telling are very good. The varying speed option to listen helps to fast track unwanted pages.
Have to subscribe, pay, then see that none of the audiobooks you search for are available in your country. This shouldn't be something a user finds out about AFTER they've paid for a subscription.
You can't conveniently search for specific language+category pairs, if I want to read English sci-fi only, for instance. Terrible UX for people speaking multiple languages. Also, no classic authors. I immediately uninstalled it.
One of the best apps. A huge collection of books and the option to switch between reading or listening at anytime based on what you want. Also it is available across various platforms. Just wish there was a tv version too though.
Horrible search results, can't find most books using either English or Dutch titles. Even author/narrator is incomplete often. Also, books with multiple parts are in alphabetical order instead of chronological.
Sometimes the app keeps buffering even though i have already downloaded the book. I don't know what causes the app to work one day and then to be unusable on the next under the same conditions
App keeps stopping randomly in middle of a book. It works for 20 mins, no issues. Later it stops every 2-3 mins. Paying for membership, but it doesn't seem to impact experience.
nearly every book now on the front page says audio format not available in your region. and there's no way to filter available books. this app is useless, going back to audible
this app is really good it has a vast collection of books in English and Arabic and the price is really great however, I don't like the fact that I paid the yearly subscription and it says it's a limited whenever it said a limited I thought that it will be a limited but there are many great books that I wish to read and it says that the audio format is not available in my region
I've been a fan and subscriber of Storytel for years, but the recent limit to listening speed has severely crippled my ability to use the app. I co-read a lot (paper book with audiobook) and that requires the audio speed to be quite high to match my reading speed. Now I can only listen to audiobooks at 2x speed, which is not nearly enough to do this anymore. It seems like there is no intention to provide this functionality, and I will have to find an alternative.
I have enjoyed this app so far. However, I found it to be a little bummer when I found the titles I want to read are only available in audiobook. As an old-fashioned reader that I am, I wish it could be available in both versions: e-book and audiobook. The books are curated pretty well, hence I'm anticipating more titles to arrive
i absolutely love this app but need some more features 1. add tracking which date how much of which book listened 2. notes taken should be named as either time stamp or chapter name 3. all books are 1 long audio without any chapter to select once you misclick it's a hassle to find the point. and chapter wise audio that make it more efficient. then this will be a 5 star app.
Awful. Thankfully I get this app through benefits of my job, as I would NEVER consider paying a direct membership to Storytel. Half of the books are 'location blocked' , including MAJORITY of the top reads & classics. and on the rare occasion you find a book, it has a suspicious hour count (way shorter than expected) I haven't found a suitable book to get into yet but i highly suspect these low hour count ones turn out to be a 'sample' or something... it could have potential but severely lacks
Decent app, but with some obvious flaws. Most annoying is that it keeps forgetting where I left off, forcing me to the next time spend time and effort trying to find my starting point of the audio book. Also cumbersome to change listening book. When my wife has used the service from a different device, my device also for mysterious reason changes to the same audio book. Would never pay full price for such poor functionality.
Awesome but so expensive. As a audiobookk addict, I love spending time on this app just finding new interesting titles, listening to all sorts of stuff and actually feeling like I'm learning/reading just as much as my friends despite the fact that I'm "only" listening since I've never been able to find the calm within to sit down quietly with a good book for very long. But the expense? It hurts every month.
I can't choose a country of a language that I speak(English) as it's not even one of the options. I was just looking for an app that would work with my watch and big yikes. I can't try out the app to decide if I'm willing to pay for it because once I picked a country, everything switched to the respective language and was unusable. -10/10 And no, I'm not emailing you about it.
I'm really happy with the app, and think that subscription is a good investment. I'd only add a table of contents so listeners could find chapters and concepts easily. Other features could be customize the lapses of time a listener could go back or forward on the book, as of now, you can only do this on 15 seconds jumps. Maybe in the future the possibility to have transcripts in the audio books or the option to do searches by words inside a book. Apart from that, I really recommend it.
It is much better than the other services that I tried like scribed and Audible. With 10 dollar subscription, I can read as much books as humanely possible. However, many books that I wanted to read aren't available in my region. It's annoying to see them being suggested to me. If a book isn't available in my region, it's better not to show it to me at all. Other than that, it's a very good app and I see myself subscriping again soon, once I get out of my reading slump.
