So here's my honest take on Stream Beacon. I've tested a bunch of VPN apps and tools, and this one's a pretty solid option. It's simple and straightforward, which I like. The real-time status indicator is really handy, and I've found it to be pretty accurate. On the other hand, the overlay can get in the way sometimes, and the customization options are a bit limited. But for a free app, it does what it needs to do.

Pros

  • Gives you a real-time status on your VPN connection
  • Works across all your apps so you're always aware of your security
  • Customizable overlay so you can make it fit your screen
  • Free to use, don't need to pay for the basic features

Cons

  • The overlay can get a bit annoying and distracting at times
  • Not a ton of advanced features or customization options
  • Occasional bugs or connection issues, not 100% reliable

Description

Been playing this Stream Beacon app for a couple months now. It’s basically a real-time VPN status indicator that shows you if your VPN connection is active or not. Pretty solid app if you’re into online security and privacy.

Here’s what you do: there’s a little square overlay that pops up on your screen, and it turns green when your VPN is connected, and red when it’s not. It works across all your apps so you can always see your VPN status. There’s also some settings you can tweak, like changing the color or size of the overlay. Took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re always hopping between VPNs or just want an easy way to monitor your online security, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the overlay can get a little annoying sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
