This app is very misleading. It makes you think you're adding your information just so it can detect your subscriptions. It never actually mentions anything about a price or a package or anything. It would not allow me to link my email and daisy chained me into adding my credit card info. As soon as I added my information it immediately charged my account 144usd without any prior warning. The silver lining here is they were incredibly helpful and quick at getting me my refund.
Reviews for Subscription Manager
← Back to Subscription ManagerI clicked to "Check eligibility" then realised it's a Googlepay button and navigated away immediately. Too late, they took $172 out of my account - I'm an idiot, they're predatory. I went to the help part of their website and after a chat got a full refund very quickly. But that's an unethical way to get new business. FYI if you do want the service you can pay full price, then go straight to cancel and they'll offer to reduce the price to $40pa if you stay.
Super misleading app. Gets you to input your credit card details, framing it as if that's what they'll use to check for subscriptions, but then charges you immediately $220 aud when you click the "check eligibility" button. There is no mention of prices, or paying for anything and you cant even look at the app first. Luckily for me, my bank blocked the transaction. Don't download until this mob becomes more transparent. Everyone saying the same thing in the reviews too, so dont hold your breath
Like some other users, I believed this to be a free app to monitor subscriptions, so I connected my email & when I went to add my primary card to have access to my bank transaction, they had set up a subscription without me clearly agreeing to pay any money. I have cancelled & asked for a refund. The transaction is still showing pending, but I will be checking regularly to ensure the money isn't taken out of my account & if it does come out that I do actually receive the refund.
such a brilliant idea, and the only app that doesnt requirw you to input the subscriptions yourself. Such a high value product, yet they blindside you with payment!?? They ask for card details framing it as a search method to identify your subscriptions, and then without warning try to charge you!?? Unbelievable. The product is amazing, but theyve forgotten ethics
I was just checking the app when it prompted me to add my credit card info to move forward. It did not mention anything about choosing a package or anything. following this i was charge 144$ usd on my credit card. This is very misleading and frustrating. So far i have not got my money back and customer service is very difficult to get a hold of
The app is easy to set up straight forward tells you all the subscriptions you have all in one place. I would've gave you guys a 5 star but when I get fraud alert from my bank saying you were going to charge me $144 for a subscription to use the service that never was disclosed when I signed up, I was not happy. But after contacting support and talking to them, they assured me I wasn't going to be charged unless I signed for the yearly subscription.
Misleading: it costs $144 a year! I am so glad I did research on the website and asked customer service how much the service costs. the app asks for your payment info before showing costs. there are several reviews like this and the company's reply is "we don't intend to be misleading." Then why haven't you put the pricing on the screen before signing up and before you start asking for payment information? If there are several people with this complaint, it means this is a consistent problem.
I am so impressed with this app! I've tried to use other apps to find and cancel subscriptions that were coming out of my account and became so confused by all of the information I had to provide and hoops I had to jump through, I would end up leaving the app and not canceling one subscription. This app has made it so I am now saving over $120 a month. I'm very impressed. Thank you
as soon as you try to sign up it automatically charges you 144$ plus and it says NOTHING about paying for the service ahead of time. I looked all over before attempting to get it to make sure it wasn't like the other apps I have looked into. it was exactly like them. you try to sign up they charge you more than the subscriptions you're canceling. edit to add,i canceled 42$ worth of subscriptions (on my own w my email search)but somehow they tried to charge me 144$ for 40$ worth of subscriptions
It doesn't let you see the terms before you set up your credit card! It also doesn't show you how much they are charging for the service! I couldn't find this information anywhere, then it tried to charge my card, it was turned down. I wouldn't authorize it until I knew what it was for and how much! Pretty shady! I am uninstalling this app! These things are important to know, especially since almost everything is and scam, and this app seems to be one of them! I wonder how many people just trust
Really weird onboarding process. Steps that introduce themselves as redundant, steps that look like they're more than they are. Like to sign up I immediately have to go through a step that just says "Cancel Netflix" with no claim that it's telling me "this is an example of what we could do" like... I didn't give you any access yet to know I have Netflix? Verify your credit card to make it to an interface where you... then verify your card? Very confusing like it was vibe coded and never tested.
Scam, I clicked everything I could and searched for a price and could not find one anywhere but I did get an alert from my bank. That the app tried to take one hundred and forty four dollars. That was not there. i do not recommend this app. And despite the cookie cutter response that they give everybody who complains about their lack of transparency about the cost, there is no upfront notification. There is no option for monthly or yearly.
I didn't have a chance to actually check out the app because it wanted my credit card and was ready to charge me, but I had no idea how much the charge would be, because it doesn't say. It just says in the beginning load your info then pick your plan. After loading my info the next step wanted to charge my card, but again I didn't now what that works be. I don't trust apps that aren't up front on what they're going to charge. So, I uninstalled it before I could be charged.
This app is very misleading. It tried to charge my debit card $90 just to "check and cancel subscriptions" without clear warning or my consent. My bank declined the charge, thankfully. This fee was completely unexpected and not disclosed upfront. Legitimate apps offer these features for free or with transparent pricing. This app uses deceptive tactics. DO NOT USE IT. Save your money and check your bank statements directly instead. Highly recommend avoiding!
Total scam. Never had an app attempt to charge my card without a confirmation. I selected Google pay, picked my card and clicked "continue". I was then told the payment didn't go through and I got a fraud alert text from my bank. Since I had no idea I was about to be charged $144, that's a good thing. Edit: then update your app with a confirmation before the charge. A simple "clicking this button will charge your payment method $144, do you want to proceed?" would go a long way.
I'm just learning what information is required when adding credit cards. My Gas Buddy app doesn't appear to have a password. At least I couldn't locate one. My Wells Fargo card. I kept typing the old password which I just changed a few days ago. So once I take the human error out of the equation I might get a rhythm for the software.
Do not use this service, they are scammers who do not listen when you set up a month to month payment. They will take out a year payment and then offer a refund which takes over a week to get back. I thought it was a simple mistake and a friend downloaded it and they did the same thing. This is so they can then offer a partial refund and get you on the discounted yearly. Bait a switch scam, not a good policy. Just find a different app and different company!
$144 charge is immediately charged to your account without you being able to choose anything! which makes the whole app seem like a scam. You have to contact support or go to complain and then they offer to refund you and assure you that you don't get charged unless you choose the yearly subscription. Is super sketchy though. The app does what it is advertised and you see all your subscriptions.
Unbelievable!! It asks for your card to verify, the fine print says no transaction will occur at this step, yet I'm notified by text that my card was used to charge $144! Granted, chat said they will refund but, like no... give me a minute to look around. Chat also stated it was clear about charges and you have to agree but I did not! I'm verifying my refund processes then deleting the app.
