Description
Been using Substack for a couple months now. It’s basically a new media app that connects you with creators, ideas, and communities you care about. Pretty solid if you’re into stuff like politics, sports, comedy, or whatever.
Here’s what you do: you can subscribe to your favorite writers, artists, and podcasters to get their original content. And there’s also live streams and group chats, which is pretty cool. And you can listen to ad-free audio and video – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.
Look, if you’re into independent creators and alternative media, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the app can get a bit cluttered at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Substack. I've tested a bunch of news and creator apps, and this one's a pretty solid option. The content discovery is great - there's a ton of interesting voices across different topics. And the direct connection with creators is cool, you really feel part of the community. On the downside, the app can be a bit overwhelming with all the different creators and features. And I wish the recommendations were a little more personalized. But overall, if you're looking to support indie writers and podcasters, Substack is worth a look.
