they updated it and broke it. why change it? it's been great for years, now doesn't work.
Reviews for SURE - Smart Home and TV Unive
← Back to SURE - Smart Home and TV UniveMy best remote app for years, but after the last update the app keep closing after 1 minute automaticly. Would you help solving this bug please.
After recent update, upon launching app remains stuck on main menu. it takes around 10-15 seconds for app to unfreeze. Edit: Still same problem, app freezes and crashes. Whatever you tried to fix in last 2 updates, please undo it.
I spent 30 minutes trying to get the app to connect to my TV. I was doing everything right and the TV was acknowledging the attempt, but the app NEVER let me enter the PIN... just kept saying "connecting" which was obviously not the case. App didn't have ONE BIT of trouble showing f*ing commercials one right after another the ENTIRE time it was "connecting" to my TV. I hate this app for wasting my time and promising things that it clearly is incapable of delivering.
This is not the same app it was months ago. Total rehaul. Lost all of the useful functionality... and now requires the purchase of a separate wifi to ir device for $20 on Amazon when it used to do exactly the same thing, quite well, without it. Can't connect to any of my devices now after forced download of new version. Just bring back the old one.
I don't recommend it It works okay but about half the screen is dedicated to advertising and the app constantly runs in the background using battery and memory. Update: I'd be glad to pay a few bucks for ad free, but a few bucks a month? Not a chance. 36 bucks a year into perpetuity? Surely you jest.
UPDATE: HAS NOT FIXED XFINITY REMOTE. When you press a button, it sends the signal twice. Every time. /// Need badly to update their xfinity remote. Only by mashing the buttons am I able to get it to do anything, but most of the buttons don't work at all. TV and DVD work great, though their layout is not great.
It seems like the update has really messed up the functionality of this app. They are only 8 options in the "add device" menu and no where to select the "traditional remote (IR)" option even though my phone does have IR capabilities. Signing up for the premium did not give more options as the free version only got rid of ads. Please include all the functionality from previous versions or give me my money back! I've tried sending emails, no reply
Don't bother!! The buttons for some odd reason only use less than half your screen. The rest you guessed it, is just their logo bigger than anything. The buttons are too small and too confusing to navigate, especially in a dark living room. To reach all the options for my tv i have to scroll through 6 different remote pages. Peel remote uses large traditional toggle buttons thst use your whole screen. Even using less than half the screen you would assume the buttons would be lit up in brite colors so you might have a chance of navigating. Just a half screen of run on white grey and green tones that make it unbelievably hard to navigate. I think you would have to sit down and try purposely to make this remote this bad and unusable.
Looks like everything was fixed. There's a new bug where the Custom Panel is unresponsive when I first open the app. The main controls at the bottom of the remote work immediately, but Custom Panel doesn't do anything. If I switch devices, the Custom Panel starts working again. I have a little blue light that turns on when it sends IR signals and I'm pointing it at a tv 4 feet away. Please make the Custom Panel work as soon as I open the app. Thanks.
This app used to work great: fairly unobtrusive ads, large list of devices that were easy to add, etc. None of the TVs in the house are wifi capable so all I needed was a simple IR remote app and this worked perfectly. For some reason, this wasn't good enough for this company, so they've apparently broken their app for a shipload of users such as myself. TV brands the app used to support? Not anymore if you own something like a Sanyo, that's gone now. So screw me, I guess. Way to tank your app.
I'm glad to see Pie support was added because now I can actually launch the App. However, when I go to add my LG WEBOS TV it detects it just fine but shows "LG TV - No Connectivity" and doesn't prompt to enter a pin after the TV that supposedly has no connectivity is discovered...So we got rid of one problem but I still cant use the app. One day we'll get there 😔
Just installed it and wow! Not sure if this is new or not, but I used to love the peel remote UNTIL they added a bunch of crappy ads n stuff. This one is sharp! Nice UI and hooked right up! Very impressive so far! Update: not sure if you guys just pushed out an update but it broke my ability to use the product. doesn't work with my lg tv anymore :(
This remote app was ok at first, though I felt it took too much effort to set up devices if common brands. After recent updates to the app, the app has lost ALL previously defined devices, and now some of the most common device brands don't even show, such as Samsung under TVs, and Some under streaming devices. I recommend you go with one which will remain stable and consistent.
Still using SR, still loving it!8-I2-16 I love this app and have been using it for over a year! I have tried several other TV remote apps and this one beats them all hands down. I've set it up on several different TVs and I've had no problem setting it up or using it. I even had a little fun with it at other peoples houses by setting it up when they weren't looking and used it lol. It is wonderful not to have to go remote hunting! Thank you Devs for making such a great app and your support!
I tried out many free remotes available within the playstore and I had to admit this is best out of all. Thanks a lot Tekoia team and keep it up!!! Instead of yearly subscription, can't you consider that as one time payments for pro version. With Logitech and similar devices available on market, not sure whether it would be sensible to pay yearly subscription for this.
This is the only usable remote app I've found that doesn't subject you to random pop-up adds when the app isn't even open (in fact - it doesn't seem to use them at all). On top of that it has some nice customization options. 5/5, A+, best remote app on the market. EDIT: Nevermind they slow-rolled the ads apparently because now I seem to get full-screen pop ups whenever the app is open. Still works well but Christ pop ups are annoying. Not worth.
4 years ago, I gave a 5 start review because I could use this app for everything... my dvd player, my tv, and even a hotel's tv when their batteries were dead in the remote. But now it only works for devices connected to your own internet. I just re-downloaded this app (because I loved it so much in the past) to use with my tv after I lost the remote. There isn't any IR capability at all anymore, which defeats the purpose of this app.
Updated 4/2021 - got a new phone and downloaded this app. I can't find my DVD player, or smart speaker, and the tv volume isn't working. Very disappointed. The mandatory wifi connection is a disappointing development. I loved this app so much before I'll be checking back. OLD REVIEW: An app that is super easy and FAST to setup! I had my DVD, tv, and satellite setup and ready to go with full functionality within 7 minutes! I might actually spend money to buy the ad-free version.
So I'm trying to reinstall the app and use it on the TV, VCR and cable, like I could before, but it keeps asking for a wifi connection. These are classic devices not smart devices. It's not the app's fault my phone doesn't have an infrared port. Still a great app; won't beg you for a 5-star rating. Works better with Galaxy phones for use on classic devices.
