So disappointed, absolutely loved this app until the last update, the app now refuses to track more than half of my steps, let alone convert them. I have contacted via in-app support, email, etc. and still nothing. I'll change my review when the issue is resolved, but I've done my part and nothing has changed so far. Edit- I have uninstalled and redownload 4 times now, I have followed the instructions on the tab to a T. It doesn't matter, it will not enable verification no matter what I do.
Reviews for Sweatcoin・Walking Step Counter
← Back to Sweatcoin・Walking Step CounterLiked it, was pretty accurate for me, despite what I was reading in the reviews. But there was no way to put it on standby or to turn it off as it stayed on all of the time and used my memory which I can't tolerate, especially with an older phone. Samsung S5. Primarily, it seemed to interfere with running "Waze" as the app would lock up. Uninstalled it and Waze runs fine.
Pretty great app. All you have to do is walk. Every step goes towards receiving in-app credits you can use to purchase deals they offer. The offers are nice, but limited and a lot of them I'm not into. Also, note I said "deals". A lot of the offers are discounts or a free month's subscription. Also, you can receive only a limited amount of credit a day. You can upgrade your account for a monthly fee (no cash, you pay with your free credits) in order to gain more credits a day.
The store has very few options and most of them are things like "free month trial of (insert service)". Some of the already limited options on which to use your coins still cost money, they are just 50% off coupons that are hard to get to work in my experience. The best products are for premium members only and the pretty good products are out of stock so quickly that I have never actually seen something that I both want and is available at the time.
You really need to make the wallet balance transferable to a PayPal account or a bank. It's not fair to users to not have options. If it truly pays to walk. Obviously, there should be a set limit that can transfer to a bank. The app is neat except what was mentioned above. Thats the only improvement that would make this app extremely useful and popular. Weak app and users don't benefit from any purchases from it's so called store. The premium features and offers are constantly "sold out". Fail
I really enjoy this app, it's a great concept. The only thing that bugs me a little is when I purchase something for "100% off" with some ridiculously high shipping price listed (which is basically just how much the item will cost with the "100% off discount"). And relative to the price it seems like a good offer at first but that's until you realize you have to pay for shipping on the website as well so it isn't actually a 100% discount. More like a 70% off discount. It's very misleading.
The "prizes" are mostly just coupons and promotions. Things like 'get a month free when you subscribe!' and 'get half off your first offer!'. There's almost nothing listed that you're truly not the one paying for it in some way. Really it just seems like a more gimmicky way of getting people to click on ads.
I actually have paid for the annual subscriptions for years. What for? Well for the daily reset, you are fighting with legit bots. Not even real people to get the good items. WHICH YOU'LL NEVER WIN. They sell out in less than a fraction of a second, and the amount of stock was left unknown. Noone knows if the items are even real. People who manage to actually buy the items, never recieve anything at all. So if you got this app, thinking you'll be awarded. No, you just gave them your data/money.
The app is well made, and easy to use. Easy to warn as long as you want to sweat. My only gripe is how limited the store is. I want to be able to purchase items such as giftcards, subscriptions, and/or redeem my coins for actual cash. The auction idea is a bit of a wash as I don't find it fair that I do my end of the deal for a CHANCE to acquire something actual worthwhile. As a person trying to get back into fitness this tool is fantastic, but underwhelming. Once I can gain from it, easy 5 star
The GPS tracking is much better than when I last used it. I decided to give it another try because I got an email from them that they had better redemption options. I don't really agree though, because almost all redemptions are only percentages off an order. I also dislike that I get random followers. I can't block them, and I can't turn off an option to allow followers. Unless I know them in person it's creepy.
The only things to spend your coins on are items that aren't worth even what they want to charge you for shipping, trials of services that you can get anyway without spending coins, or auctions. To get anything from an auction it would take about 10 years for a reasonably active person to win the auction. Plus there is no customer support whatsoever. Then I finally found something that seemed to be worth it, paid for it with the coins and then the code they gave me didn't work. Did I mention that there is no customer support. It's just a waste of time to interact with this app to get the coins.
Sweatcoin was great. I earned over $800 since downloading. Unfortunately since the update, the app no longer works. I pay for the most expensive subscription and it's counted 0 steps over the last few weeks. So frustrating and I've made sure I don't have any battery saving settings. I've done all the suggested fixes. Nothing works.
App used to be really great. It keeps track of your steps and you earn coins, but the rewards just aren't there anymore. I get ads when trying to purchase stuff with coins after paying to not have ads, and the rewards are no longer fun. The app just isn't what it used to be. 5 years ago it was great, I got some stuff and it was fun. Now it's just, 10% off this, a free 7 day trial of this if you've never Used it before, etc. Sad to see the deals dwindling away. Time to find a new step tracker.
This app's concept is great, and it's good motivation to go outside. However, there should be more offers for gift cards like there used to be. Now, the good stuff is 5k+ swc. Also, the app needs to have more consistent tracking of steps. The fact that nearly every single comment complains about this means that it's the app's biggest issue. If you release an update claiming to track indoor steps and verify nearly all, why not just track all of them? Clearly the algorithm doesn't work.
Another broken app... losing a streak and not getting any notifications is an amazing job. Removing the app from my phone.
So in the past I've gotten a few great items with my sweat coins either at a great discount or pretty much for free! However, I feel like the availability of rewards now are not what they used to be. The top free redeemable reward items always seem to be instantly sold out, and whenever I redeem a promo code for like a free subscription, it never copies and pastes properly and it'll say that code is expired or not valid when entered. Annoying because then I spend sweatcoins just to get nothing!
Seems like a scam. They offer "67% off earfun free pro 3". I click on the link and it sends me to the earfun website, showing the earfun free pro 3 at a price of $119.99, and with the offer of 67% off. I close that link and Google "earfun free pro 3". The first result is the same website, same product, but the price is $79.99 with an offer of an extra 43% off. Logged on after a while and all my coins were gone. None of the rewards are actually rewards. It's just an app for product marketing.
I have enough points for gift cards within my first month, but it says every day that the $5, $10 & $15 are sold out. Nothing to buy. The small amount showing sold does not change. Probably from Years ago. I referred someone, did not get credit I'll update my review if I can ever redeem my points for a card. This app also really drains my battery. They should not advertise rewards for cards if it is not possible to do. The reward gift like Amazon cards should never be sold out. Ridiculous!!!
This app is the biggest rip off for the 'premium' version. I walk a lot (400k+ steps per month avg), so I tried the premium trial. I forgot all about it, so I've been charged $21 for the past 3 months. So, I figured I should have a good amount of coins saved up, log onto the app, and I've got a whooping 50 coins (or what equates to a .10 value)! I would expect much more than that even with the free version considering I walked 1.75 million steps during this time. So, what does paying get you?!
Latest update is draining my battery like crazy. I was wondering why my battery was going so quickly so I checked my phones settings and found that SweatCoin used 43% over night! Also, there's nothing good to use the coins on. It's all advertising, even the "deals" you can use your coins on. Then when you use those coins (which I only did once) you get targeted ads for the product you just got. It's all hot garbage.
