So here's my honest take on the Swish Eye Home Security Camera app. I've tested a bunch of home security apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The setup is super easy and it works reliably most of the time. The live streaming and motion detection features are handy, and the unlimited cloud storage is a nice bonus. The only real downside is the motion detection can be a bit temperamental and give false alerts sometimes. But for a free DIY security cam, it's hard to complain too much. If you want something simple and affordable, I'd say Swish Eye is worth a look.

Description

Been using the Swish Eye Home Security Camera app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you use an old phone as a security camera to watch over your home, garage, or whatever. Pretty solid app if you’re into DIY home security.

Here’s what you do – you set up the old phone as the camera, then you can use your regular phone as the viewer to watch the live feed. There’s also motion detection, so it’ll send you alerts if it spots movement. And you get unlimited cloud storage to save footage, which is nice.

Look, if you want an easy way to keep an eye on your place without spending a ton, this is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the motion detection can be a bit finnicky sometimes – but overall it gets the job done. I’d recommend it for most people looking for a simple home security solution.
