Decent app, but a some observations and requests. First of all the speed limits are 50/50 as to accuracy. Then this thing is trying to send me down a small dirt road instead of the perfectly safe one I'm on... It clearly doesn't understand the difference between a commerical vehIicle and a motorhome. I would also like to be able to select the shortest route, I don't have that option, just fastest and local road, etc. Good luck finding a link to email support about issues
Reviews for Sygic GPS Truck & Caravan
← Back to Sygic GPS Truck & CaravanI just purchased the premium package for trucks and am very disappointed. I bought the Android Auto version also and it is a lousy interface. The tiles are too large and cover too much of the map and each other. I have attached a picture of the Android Auto screen for reference. Also the Android Auto screen only displays Kilometers, all of my settings are set to miles. I was excited for the Android Auto interface but was very disappointed with the experience.
I tried this app for the trial week and was not too impressed. At times it almost has too much information and at times, not enough. It would say I was in a no passing zone when it was the other direction that was. The speed limits are not accurate either. There was a few occasions where it told me to turn left but there was a center island or median. The freeway interchanges are not all accurate either. There was a couple occasions where it told me to merge when it was too late.
One trip and done. Worked great for first trip. Will not find next location in California. When you speak directions it can't find an address with "parkway" spelled out, but if I type in the address with Pkwy it finds it but will not navigate to it. I get an error. I'm at loading dock of first trip. It shows me off road, but even if I change starting point to entrance here it still doesn't work. Also.... And this is big. Doesn't show only truck stops. Shows all gas stations. No good for big rig.
I would gladly purchase your app license. If you fixed its GPS problems.. which is literally the entire backbone of navigation. it gives ZERO traffic updates, which is one of your selling points. It takes 5 minutes or more to connect to the steps. If you swap apps to check texts or phone call, it loses GPS signal, and puts you off course.. i took a few screen recordings of this. Every other GPS app I have connects within 30 seconds.... not yours. Fix it, I'll buy it.
I've purchased a lifetime premium service for sygic truck GPS and lately, the app will not allow me to navigate to locations that I've been navigating to since I've punched the service. Each time I select common locations, the app shows blue and will not navigate, but it will only navigate to locations that do not need to route. This app has become very glitchy.
Decent. My main issues are: it wants to route me down a neighborhood street that I can't make the turn and trucks aren't allowed, Bluetooth never works even though everything is enabled and allowed, doesn't say the exit number rather (head towards hospital), doesn't say the route numbers or street names, most times it routes longer and out of the way vs CoPilot, Hammer or Garmin. If those issues were fixed, I would purchase the yearly plan.
App is OK. The app tells me wrong information sometimes. For instance "get in the left two lanes. Then get in the right lane to take exit such and such". It would be tremendously helpful if the app warned of accidents ahead, construction and detours ahead and to give a safe alternative route ahead of time. Also alerts ahead of time of closures of tunnels and bridges. Needless to say I drive in Boston and if I don't know my route ahead of time, I'm not 100% confident this app will get me there.
In short it is a poor trucking app that needs a lot of work. There isn't much as far as good trucking GPS but this is ok. Biggest problem is it shuts down and freezes up at crucial times. If I can't pull over I am off track for miles. Turning a truck around can take up to an hour and it's not fun. No response from support even though I have reported the problems several times. For some reason it thinks that the quickest way is through small towns with many lights and traffic. Sometimes it will tell me to exit off the freeway and then it will tell me to get right back on after I had gotten off. Speed limits are almost always wrong. I report them but they stay wrong. It had me going in circles one time because it thought a road was restricted to trucks but it wasn't restricted until after my stop. Sometimes it tells me to turn down streets not big enough for a truck even though my dimensions are input in. But I have tried many truck GPS and they all have flaws. I paid the most for this one so I am really upset. I definitely won't renew if the problem of freezing and shutting down aren't fixed. I almost been in accidents because of this thing shutting down at crucial turns and interchanges. I wouldn't recommend wasting any money on this. Google is so much more accurate and free. Just watch the no truck signs and low bridges cause you have to do that with this anyway.
Installed this and bought the RV license. The app is practically useless. Most RV Parks I want to navigate to won't even show up in the search results even if enter the exact address. When plugged into the head unit (Android Auto) it will only display distance in Kilometers despite the regional settings in the app being set to Miles / Feet. Half the time, the Chrome extension won't send the map to my phone. Complete waste of $80 for the license. Wish I could get a refund. Stay away from this.
Android Auto is USELESS!! I WANT A REFUND! After paying to unlock Android Auto I find that it is not functional. It shows on the screen but it is stuck in Km with no way to change it. Any mapping changes needed require the app be exited from Android Auto and changed completed on the phone, making it unsafe to use! If you use voice commands the app locks up and is no longer functioning until you close it on your phone and power off the android auto head unit.
Don't waste your time and money not worth a damn!!!!!!!!! The GPS takes you way out of your way, sometimes 25 to 30 miles, costing drive time, fuel, and money. There is no route preview or a satellite view of destination so you can see what things look like around your destination. If I could get my money back, I would do it but I think it is too late but I am going to Uninstaller app
Don't purchase this. I used it about 5 times and very often the navigation has a delay to tell you when to go. So you have to look at the map all the time. If you don't follow the path in the app, it will take a long time to recalculate the route. So I requested for a refund after less than a month of usage, no response from a live representative. It was just an automated response about the message was receive and some issues and solution of the problems. I still got no response after a month.
Made the mistake of paying for the permanent license. My trial had run out months ago. Wanted this app because it finally was set up for Android Auto. I really wish that I had not purchased it, a wasted $90. The voice instructions were in miles and feet, but the ones on the screen were in metric. No street names given, and many times I had no clue as to where to turn. First trip of 25 miles, I needed to pull over and change to a different GPS app. This one goofed up my audiobook playback.
The first week was great. Paid for a yearly subscription, and immediatly after that, the app is not working as well as before. The bluetooth connection with this app will always turn off any music or podcasts I am listening to after telling me about 6-9 times on when to turn right or left. Was trying to pick up a load in Puyallup, and the address would neither autofill correctly, or let me use the address I was given. Resulting me in getting lost 4 times, miss my appointment.
I really want to like this app. I kept getting emails about buying it with a discount. Never got the discount and they want me to repurchase it in order to get discount. Android auto always displays km instead of miles, can't find a way to change it even though phone solo settings are miles. It turns my music app on even though I try to turn it off, it keeps turning it back on. It tells you to exit the highway in so many km's but not the the exit number or road name. Wish I could get refund.
I love how large the fonts are on the map. After using CoPilot for so long. It's nice to be able to read the words on the map without magnification. 3 things that need fixing. 1st: "heading up" stops working at higher zoom out levels. The app reverts back to "north up". 2nd: exit #s are definitely needed for freeway exits. Fix those & this will definitely be 5 stars. 3rd: instead of a scale in the corner of the screen showing how far 1 inch is. A distance at the top & 1 side of the screen would be much more useful.
I downloaded this truck GPS to give it a try. My first time of use was a short 30 mile trip. Straight off the bat things weren't good. A quarter mile from our yard it wanted me to go down a narrow road not suitable for trucks! The sound wouldn't work, even though I could hear warning sounds in settings, although with the delay set at 0m/s there was still a massive delay. Not good for an app that wants €100 for a subscription. There are better apps out there.
Overall good. Does not have some long established addresses. Not uncommon for speed limits to show lower than actual. Like the upcoming stations/rest areas in upper left and small graphics showing what lane(s) to use at upcoming interchanges. Not as simple to use as Google maps but the truck limitations are a must when driving an 18 wheeler and have not found a better app than Sygic.
This is one of the worst apps I've ever used. Its very outdated and hard to put an address in it. Most of the time after messing with it what seems like forever it pops up the totally wrong address. I purchased the license just to get the android auto feature which doesn't work properly. When it gives you voice direct it only gives you a few words and freezing up the app. If your listening to music on a different app it pauses it and then never turns it back on. Terrible app
